Very modern stuff, shines even on vocals , bass master bus, your new song is great can you deconstruct the mix😎
Very good idea! I will do something like this soon!
Thanks, I've been researching this unit for a while now and have found this by far the most useful demo I've come across - a great balance of explanation/information and letting the sound speak for itself on a wide range of sources. I'm in, both for the unit and the channel!
Thanks Dom! What a great review. Especially the use on vocals was an awesome suggestion. Your videos are always so well produced. Congratulations! I think I am sold on the Tegeler now. Going to pull the trigger on this one...
Honestly, I've been thinking of this unit, your demo is the most interesting I've watched. And nice synth-wave track. I'll get an unit and follow you man.
Thank you so much Nelson! Glad you enjoyed ;)
Thanks Dom for your help. Greetings,
Markus
Thank you so much Markus! Much appreciate and hope I helped a bit :)
this guy is a rad keyboard drummer, i love my tegeler on drums for sure
Man I've been wanting one of these since I saw it was coming out....lucky lucky man....enjoy that beauty
Definitely keep it, Dom! Thank you for another great video!
Great! Just ordered mine!! Cool video, congrats!
Can’t wait! That’s a nice piece of gear!
Holy sht that's a superb sounding track Dom. Love how boosting the low boost makes the highs sparkle even more. Insane.
Hey Dom, just listened to your new track. Really enjoyed the retro synthwave vibe, great stuff.
Thank you soooo much Adrian!
Oh great. There is a hype I think with it and since you always go in depth it is great to see what you have to say about it!!
The hype is real :)
@@DomSigalas "The hype is real." That can be taken two ways, LOL. But anyway, I have this unit on the very top of my wish list. Thanks for the informative video.
Marvelous piece of gear with no obsolete horizon... that's the future for sure. Kudos to the Tegeler team and thanks so much Dom about this helpful insight. By the way, love that gorgeous 80s vibe of your "Behind the Wall" single Dom. What about a depth walkthrough sharing the arrangements, mixing approach and processors, and virtual instruments used over it ?
Wow!!!!I love the song!!The unit is impressive too!
Great video - and love that you used a synthwave track for the demo (though I'm biased). Thinking of picking up one of these fairly soon.
Is she singing "Every DAW looks the same"? Sounds like it. Lovely video and lovely unit!
I asked for a trial just today! It seems to be a real game changer 🥰
I LOVE your new single maaan....is awesome that tune from the 80s. MARVELLOUS Dom..!!!
I want some stuff .... TEGELER looks really GOOD!!
Thank you my man!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
This is great. Think I might get one for my setup. I can have this across the room where there is a bit more space. No more room on my desk.
Cool. Great energy
Yeah Dom! Super nice video, bro! Also, Thanks for the shout out :-)
Thank you Bro!!! And thanks for introducing me to this awesome unit!
Great Vid , Thanks Mate !!!
Your channel has become very expensive for me lol! Completely sold me on the vocal compressor alone. Incredible unit. Have to pick one up ASAP. Thank you!
Very nice indeed! I'm going to get one. It would be nice if there was a mix dial on the compressor for parallel compression, although I guess you could use it on a send.
I really want to love the equipment Dom...but hot damn! the songs are the real PRIZE!! FANTASTIC!
Just bought your song! I really really like it! 80s!!! :-)
Really happy you liked it Jens Haberkorn !
Man! I like your channel...im glade I ran across it,,
Welcome aboard! Thank you!
Is there a compressor that sounds "bad"? I think the problem is, we all just love music, regardless. Slap a decent processor on your music, and it gets better, and we love that music even more. And now we REALLY love the compressor.
wait what? this is ridiculous? OMG I love this company
I need this!!!
the first unboxing i didn‘t skip
If Dom says is good then is good !! What i like to know is the modern talking track snare
Transparent glue! Crazy!
Amazing sound! so clean in the high and low boost, I need this piece! where did you order it?
Thanks for a very good review. Confusing that the plugin button status wasn't reflected in the vid of the hardware unit which is very odd. The knobs moved, the buttons didnt change. Can I ask you, how subtle would you rate the HF boost in general? Also, if you boost say at 18kHz, you would need very young ears to hear any change!
Impressive unit! Love the automation with the plukin. Great track by the way (just miss some guitar tracks). Write me and I could give it a shot😎🎸
Thank you so much my man!!! ❤️
You have done neve bus compressor...api & ssl bus compressor..the only remaining are the tube ones..please try to make one with manley bus compressor..or spl iron..thanks bro. always enjoy your videos and songs...
hi Could you please explain how to use the q-clone plugin as an analyzer in Cubase?
Thank
got the black le version... def makes everything sound better.
hit me up if you want your track run thru it!
Great sounds here Dom..I was on tegeler site and the pics of the back of the unit shows no ethernet jack where is it.
There's a photo of the rear of the unit in the manual ;)
Trying to decide between the Creme and the RND Master Buss Processor. The Creme seems more colored like the mix is inside of a warm blanket playing through an FM radio station, while the MBP sounds more transparent and modern. Any insights or opinions on which one to get? I would be running from the SSL Fusion into either Creme or MBP (or using the insert on the Fusion, not sure yet).
Aaah let me give you my honest opinion :)
1. Very very different devices
2. Obviously, if you don’t have the budget for the RND then the Crème is the way to go!
3. The Compressor on the RND is definitely more versatile. It can pump, it can glue, it can demolish
4. The Crème has a beautiful passive EQ- the Neve doesn’t have this (only M/S EQ but not so versatile)
5. The Crème is recallable using a plugin
6. The RND has M-S processing which is a huge deal for me. If you don’t need this then maybe the Crème is a better choice
7. The RND has the Silk which can add beautiful colour to your master bus - exactly the amount that you need for mastering
8. The Crème has a very nice compressor that you can set and forget on the master bus. It cannot pump as hard as the RND and it doesn’t have a blend control to do parallel though
9. The RND is a deeper unit. Gives you a lot of control and power but it’s way more complicated than the Crème.
If you are looking for a nice colour to your master bus then the Crème will be a nice addition to your Fusion! If you want a mastering power-weapon then I would go for RND. You can’t go wrong with either of them !
@@DomSigalas Thank you for your detailed response. I'm still on the fence, but leaning towards the MBP because of its clean sound and full low end.
Dom, you suggested there was no password used when connecting to the router. Hmm, I would certainly be checking that access.
Can you use multiple instances of the plugin on different channels at the same time? or do you have to print first? I would imagine you would have to print first considering it connects to a hardware unit but just curious.
It's hardware so no, you cannot. You've got two channels but they are controlled by the set of controls so you'd have to print.
Hi Dom, thanks for your fantastic review of the Tegeler Creme RC. It has inspired me to try it out in my studio, but I have not been able to get Cubase 12 to recognise the VST3 plugin. Did you have any issues with this? I am using a Windows PC. Many thanks!
Hi Paul, works here yes! Have you tried getting in touch with Tegeler? :)
Thanks Dom! I've been in touch with Tegeler, but found an answer on the Steinberg Forum 😊
@@paulsmusicuk What was it Paul? I am really interested :) Plus it could help someone else over here :)
@@DomSigalas the Crème RC VST3 file was being installed by default to the wrong folder. Someone suggested dragging it to the Common Files / VST3 folder, and this solved the problem…
@@paulsmusicuk Aaah, yes, common issue :) It might be an issue with the installer :)
Can this thing be put on more than 1 source like a traditional plugin or like an effects loop with an aux input track for multiple tracks.. ?
will it sound any good if I use it for recording vocals with the Slate Mic/ AMS 1073/ CrèmeRC/ UAD Apollo thanks
Why not,, but I would use it for mixing after recording not at the recording process :)
@@DomSigalas thanks I was wondering if I could replace the tubetech Cl1b at the recording stage what do you think about that ?
Very different sounding device! If you have it keep using it :)
Hello Dom, I'm wondering why you don't have the device anymore. I think you chose SSL and Neve instead, is there any reason?
I still have it! Along with the SSL and Neve! It's perfect because I can control it with a plugin and I don't have to have it right next to me. It's actually the one before I hit the Neve Master Bus processor ;) I am quite fond of the eq on this one ;)
@@DomSigalas would you suggest this combo for acoustic/folk music? i was thinking of the tegeler eq + the portico master bus comp. let me know your opinion
Do they have a North America version? 120V 60Hz?
Hi Dom, the question is, can you achieve the same with plugins? I feel what you're showing us can easily be achieved to the same quality and perhaps beyond, by the UAD 33609 or other software compressor and UAD Pultech or some such. What is really needed here is an A/B comparison with high quality software comps and EQ's. If we're going to forkout the amount of cash, (and in the UK , were literally punished by KMR by huge price increases over the Euro prices), is it really worth it compared to the absolute multitude of incredible software comps and Eq's? I personally don't think so on this occasion. Time for an honest conversation....Nobody is denying this is great BTW.
I think imo ( my unasked for opinion ) which is purely theoretical.... that where plugins fail is the high mid to high end. Our ears are keenly tuned to what sounds 'natural' at these frequencies. To my ears... most plugins cannot do a convincing boost in the high mids to highs without sounding "off" in some way.
Necessary 'not at all' .... If I am correct in my theory I would not want to leave the most detectable part of my music to the listener in the hands of anything but "real" electricity and not to an approximation of it.
Again my opinion..... I did try the "black q" by Tone Empire and was actually pleasantly surprised by its use on the highs. But yes I also would like to see the comparison.
I may answer your question, I am the happy owner of a Tegeler Creme RC since 1 year ago. Could I get this results for a master bus with plugins? OK, I have almost EVERY SSL and Pultec plugin in the market, from cheap to expensive. I may agree that some of them are really good emulations. But, in order to get similar results, I feel like I must be tweaking parameters for quite a long time, and with this unit it´s something like... 2 minutes? And I´m done. This box works like a charm. It´s subtle, and it´s not entended for drastic changes in dynamics or color, but it enhances EVERYTHING you put through it and glues a mix in a matter of seconds. I always set this up and then start to work, it´s my first step. When I have to decide levels or eqs or panning, it´s always easier to find the right value with the Creme glueing everything.
My most valuable unit in my studio!! And no, I wouldn´t change it for any plugin.
@@rodericogarcia I'm a bedroom producer and should I get the RC or the non RC and cheaper version?
@@psysword hi there, go for the rc, right away. It’s wonderful using it like a software plugin. Insert it in the master bus, and every time you reopen your project, the RC plugin recalls the pot position via ethernet. A dream!
Great! Please name of the song 6:30
Behind the Wall. Brilliant 80s synth revival! Love it!
I think i would rather get this instead of the ssl fusion,, i can save about six to 8 hundreds dollars,, what do yall think? any one please give me some suggestions..
This is nice, but, How does it sound???
You need to add a compressor to your mic in for your voice too
My mind can't get over the fact that the sound changes instantly?? How does this work? On a hardware unit the knob needs to be at the chosen position before it really sounds the way it should. This works like a plug-in? How???
I know! I had to hear it to believe it! I guess there are probably some electronics clever engineering in there that can be controlled using the plugin!
The fact the sound changes ahead of the knob movement would lead the sceptics amongst us to think it's just a plugin with an expensive motorized controller. Obviously I don't believe that's what's going on but I'd really love to know what voodoo Tegeler are using.
@@Rolanoid Instead of the knobs being pots that directly control the sound, they are motorized encoders. The encoders/plug in are controlling integrated DCPs (digitally controlled potentiometer)
can you track with it or would you track with it?
The instrumental would be a Great song for a Dr. Disrespect stream. Title of the 2nd track please?
😀😀😀 the second track is a track I’ve put together in Cubase - I played some guitars, bass and Moog, haven’t really given it a title hahaha
@@DomSigalas If the vocals are original consider it a hit.
Hahaha! The vocals are the Soulful Pop Vocals from Steinberg :) I threw them in and wrote that track around a few phrases . It’s a really nice library indeed ;)
Crème vs ssl g bus ? Which one would you choose
It depends. I absolutely love the EQ on the Crème so if you want a full master bus solution and can only have one piece I would probably go for the Crème. :)
@@DomSigalas is sound similar to ssl? Does it better job for glueing mix ? I’m stuck between those two, just want to have good compressor on master
@@Croyeeeeer12 It has its own sound :) It doesn't sound like the SSL. However, it's a beautiful glue compressor and EQ for the master bus. If you're going for the SSL sound, then definitely go for the SSL. :)
So torn between the creme and the ssl fusion.🤔 Different devices of course... Anybody any ideas?
Yes, massively different units! What are you holding to achieve with it?
I personally prefer the EQ on the Crème on the master bus (and of course, it has a compressor) but the Fusion offers interesting colours with the Drive and Space controls. :)
@@DomSigalas thank you for your quick response and your great demonstration in the video 👍🏻👌🏻. I want to add that warm richness that analog gear provides on the master. But I guess an eq and a compressor would be even more useful. Do you still use the creme on vocals or was that just for demonstration purposes?
@@soundwelt1428 Yes, I do use it on vocals- if that was your only analogue compressor it will work really nicely- of course, I have many other analogue compressors for vocals. When it comes to the Creme I think the EQ is really beautiful. Especially for the master. Sometimes, I only use the EQ and it's really...Creamy :) You can't make something sound bad with it. As a whole I would say- Creme-> master bus, Fusioin->individual mix buses (drums, vocals, synths)
@@DomSigalas thank you so much for your detailed and helpful response. I think you've just pushed me over the edge buying the creme 🤭😂 thank you once again for providing some extra help 👍🏻
Did you get to keep the unit? (for free)
I still have it as a demo unit but not sure what’s gonna happen yet. One thing is for sure: if I didn’t like it I wouldn’t make a video about it! It goes without saying that I definitely want to keep it! :)
@@DomSigalas Could you walk us through how you are routing the signals.... external Send & Return etc...and how cubase is setup for it.
@@JohnLeger I’ve done a video about it : ua-cam.com/video/RbQfoKTaz_A/v-deo.html :)
I own that unit and don´t know that you can control it via VST, THANK YOU!
you need the rc version, many are without. a difference of a few hundred dollars.
Seems that this unit is only good in the UK, it requires 230V 50Hz, no good in North America... :(
Almost no difference (MacBook Air / headphones)
this guy doesn't know how to use it hahaha hint: turn the output up past 1
using imac here: what ever knob you turn.... the sound stays as is. I wonder why? it is so time-wasting to watch introductions like yours.
Hey Peter, this is a mastering processor, I don’t think the iMac speakers are going to do it justice. Try and use some headphones or monitor speakers and you will definitely hear the difference! Actually I am explaining quite a few things in the introduction 😂 but if you don’t want to watch those I have banner at the beginning of the video giving you the exact timecode where the test starts as well as chapters for the entire video. Didn’t this help? :(
@@DomSigalas i think he didnt heard the difference at all
Aaaaaah ok 😂
