That's also true of Bozja. As long as you keep _A_ Job on each stage/quest, you'll passively be raking in various memories over time by running roulettes, Fates, and so on. 24 man ques, some 4 man dungeons, etc that you just do semi-normally.
I would say investigate what drops/grinds you will have to come across and then try to align them so you are doing 2-3 grinds at the same time with one event. I think a factor in relic grind is the look of the weapons, which to me is part of their value/grind ratio. The HW relics are mostly beautiful at every stage. ARR and SB relics have some winners. Final ShB relics... HOLY MOLY. 😑 *weeps in Walmart book*

i picked up my first relic (ast anima) just a few months ago - was super excited to show it off! then i went ahead and accepted weekly quests for singing clusters, allagan oil and things of the like, spent poetics/seals on the various items (unidentified, pneumite, sand) so i just had a bunch on hand when i decided to do the next one. it took me something ridiculously quick, maybe like 4 evenings, to get from start to finish for my nin anima - super easy to get!
Great video. Love the fact you mention to be level 70 before grinding. I know it’s personal choice and all but I didn’t bother and you’ve reassured me it’s ok! Thanks.
I always have enjoyed your content for a good while and honest9shocked u weren't in the list. But nevertheless, your definitely very up there when it comes to supporting the community of FFXIV. 🙂
If it’s your first time, Eureka is absolute hell. Anima is the easiest since you can get it passively by getting tomes. Bozja relic is grindy but OK. ARR relic is absolutely the 9th circle of hell.
I find Eureka to be one of the most relaxing and engaging relic grinds. The areas are so aesthetically pleasing and the whole vibe surrounding grouping is way more organic than bozja.
I've done Eureka when it got released, I expect it to be nerfed now. Don't go in there alone,. You want to delevel in pagos and pyros?(3rd island) and find a decent 8 men squad. Grinding effectively a full lvl collecting lights, in island 2 and 3 EVERYTHING is tied to your ability to maintain and end killchains, and you preferably to that on the biggest monsters of the island, pingponging from 2 spots. Beeing deleveled once helps a lot. Also in Eureka, basically recruiting players(paying with gils or whatever rare skins) having Eureka weapons and elemental/special gear drastically speeds up the process, it is kind of having people 5 more levels, they'll do significantly more damage and take significantly less damage reducing the farm dramatically. On every island you want to use a tracker, and either follow a train or spawn fates yourself(by killing stuff) to level up. The last island ironically is the easiest one, however if people are doing the raid in your instance, the fates are also scalled up with them. I'd recommend doing it at 50 if you feel like it tho, it's a unique experience in FFXIV, I don't know if Bozja has something similar and honestly after doing Eureka at release I'm not likely to participate anymore in those galores.
Fortunately Bozja is the one of the fastest way to level alternate jobs from 71-80, so even after Endbringers drops (and also even after all in players get the two new jobs past 80) I can see the zones still having a relatively stable population going forward. I wish they would add a similar xp reward (one that applies outside anyway) to Eureka just so we have a good and perhaps productive alternative to HoH, also giving players more incentive to enter/return to the zone.
I'm still grinding arr ZODIAC relic for my warrior...that bloody axe looks sick then it lights up its fire...270 mobs 27 dungeons 27 leves n 27 fates later u unlock...A WHOLE NEW GRIND CONGRATS
Haven't done shadow or end yet But my experince with stormblood heavensward and realm reborn. I found relm reborn while grind to be really east. Heavensward so far is also pretty straight forward and nice. Stormblood...yea I hated that stuff. The moment I got to the island I didn't even know what to do. God i didn't even get a start. I'll be trying shadowbringerd next and then end walker. I'm chalking stormblood up to I really don't need that.
I started playing about a year ago and so far only grinded one relic weapon: the ARR Dragoon spear "Longinus Zeta". RIP my gil, but I think it's by far the coolest relic for DRG.
Having done all the relic grinds, Eureka is by far the longest grind (for the first relic at least) right now. - The ARR relic right now isn't hard or time consuming at all anymore, I completed my first one in 16 hours and now that I know the steps I could optimize it down a lot. - The HW takes a tad longer, since you'll be facing tomestone caps and the like. You can however pre-farm most of the items required and complete all the other mandatory steps in only a few hours. When prefarming this is the fastest relic, else it will take longer than the ARR relic. - The SB relic will take the longest for your initial weapon, but any follow up with be very fast. When I did this last year it took me about 7 days (of 8 hours play time each) to be done with the zone (but I also farmed 2 Elemental Armor Sets +1 on top of the weapon). The first three zones will be a day each, but Hydatos will take loner because of how stingy the fates are with their rewards. - The ShB relic, much like the SB one, will be a lot more time consuming for the first weapon (because of the insane amount of raids required for certain steps). But I found I cleared it a tad quicker than the SB relic overal. Follow up weapons can be done quicker. tldr (shortest to longest): First weapon: ARR > HW > ShB > SB Follow ups: HW (pre farm) > ARR > HW (non pre farm) > ShB = SB
One thing that you have to give ARR weapons is that all of them have a great base weapon design. And if you don’t like the base version there is always the zodiac version.
"Certain exclusive list" I mean yeah you did not get promoted maybe on twitch but honestly. For me you are the BEST ff14 youtuber i have known. I just returned to ff14 never been into the ff14 community. But you are the one i spent countless hours watching all the videos in a month. Don't feel sorry my man. I can see you put a lot of effort into your videos. Yeah sure it would be nice to be on the list and get free subs from people JUST wanting the mount and do noting else. But i feel like you are better than that.I am only one person maybe my admiration wont mean much. I do recommend you to my new friends who want to start to ff14. I am not trying to bad mouth or throw shade at other content creators. But i do feel like your videos have a bigger impact for the community. Even if its for a small part of the community. A lot of love my friend your hard work is not going unnoticed.
Wow...Just wow. Thank you Muddy for your insanely generous words. I will keep up the spirit and don't worry, I don't need that Square Enix support as long as they keep making a great game
I went back and finish my second Zodiac weapon. It took me around 4-5 days and have say I am not doing it again. Mostly because after finishing the Zodiac Weapon for the first time, the game only acknowledges that you finish the questline, not weapon. The game only give a “save state” after you finish the first relic quest line via achievement. From Zenith and beyond, your weapon becomes the “save state”. You need to have the final Zeta Zodiac to make the replica of the previous and current form form. If you plan on starting the Anima weapon of the same job, DO NOT TRADE in your Zeta Zodiac Weapon just to save like a hour or two of Fate grinding for the Anima Weapon. You put in a lot of resources and time into your Zeta Zodiac Weapon and the last thing you want to do is redo the questline on the same weapon.
I would say that the hw relics are the easiest, only if you completed at least one. The quest themselves unlock the materials that the npcs sell. Yes you passively do it but the first relic will take the longest because you can't outright buy everything all at once like I did
Eureka up to Pyros weapon and first set of Elemental armor took me about 35 hours in-game time. As mentioned, I used Mr Happy's Eureka revisited guides to figure out what the hell was going on. Since then got two more Elemental armor sets which only took a few hours each.
Of all the relic weapons, I would honestly say "easiest" is Eureka, since you can get the mats/crystals as you level. The "hardest" would be ARR IMO and ShB, Just because of time investment involved
for sure, the SHB everyone says is sooooo easy is god damn AWFUL, 180 old raids we've already THOUSANDS of times at this point especially if we have even 1 anima weapon? it's fucking asisine and stupid and feels HORRIBLE
I guess the time-frame you give relies on marketplace. As a free trial player that can't use marketplace or trade, it takes an insane amount of time to get the ARR relic weapon. I had to level almost all of the DoW/DoH to around 40-50 as well as grind spiritbond to get the materia I needed. To be honest, I could have just went into Heavensward and bough high-level crafting gear and it would have saved me a decent amount of time but I wanted the experience to be genuine and to go into HW with my relic weapon. The upside of all this grind is I'm now lvl 50 at almost all of the Gathering/Crafting classes.
I don't understand, failry new player here. Let's say I just want the weapon for glam (as normally all this old ones are for) you are telling me I cannot use it as glam? Unless I finish the whole quest?
@@LightyGab Once you finish unlocking the complete relic (all steps), only then can you purchase a replica of any of the previous steps to use in your glamour dresser. You cannot store the relic in your dresser for glam unless it is a replica version.
7:37 So what are your favorite relic choices? I've already made a small list of what I would like but with 4 and soon to be 5 to choose from, It's easy to miss some good ones!
i skipped doing anything eureka after the shiny armor. the relic are just meh at best to me. the glow effect is below the moggle crafted weapons and without their charm.
For a moment I thought the first item on this video was talking about the Anima step of the zodiac weapons, and thought "Dude the Trials of the Brave are not something to be done in a couple hours."
Going to echo the Tombstone collection note...seriously, doing any of these will require a metric crapton of those things. I'm working on the Reconstructed step of my Dragoon weapon, and I'll still need a few thousand Tombstones to get this step done if I don't use thousands of Grand Company Seals for a different turnin item...and the next step will require a total of 2,000 if I don't do quests to get the items and just buy them instead. Half the reason I'm going to get Dragoon to level 80 is to increase my Tombstone intake to make things easier, since that'll shift my Leveling Roulette to Tombstones instead of XP.
I'm stilly really stuck on whether or not I want to start the Eureka grind. I did the Bosja Resistance weapons grind before 6.1 launched, and it was rediculous trying to finish some steps. I usually play in the night time in my timezone as I work nights, and there would sometimes be not enough players in the zones for fates to spawn, and the only time I could get a DR party going was on my weekends when I could be on earlier. I did finish it, and I love the glam that you get for it, but god I don't know if I want to have to grind several weeks out again if Eureka is just as bad.
TBH Anima weapon are probably my favorite in terms of look unless it's NIN which is sadly my main job(most of the time). Recently finished my second Anima, probably gonna get one for a tank, too.
One of the first Videos i ever watched from you and wow the quality you put in is really good. Also could it be that you are German? Den Akzent würde ich aus ner Meile wiedererkennen xD
The difficulty of every rank is equal to the last rank because last time I checked you can only glamour the replicas and you don't get those until the weapon is complete.
Ive been grinding the Heavensward relic weapon. On the last two steps. Much grinding of solo dgs to go. I wanted to get it as a sprout but i grew up before i made it. Still going to get it done
On the zodiac questline I'm stuck at A Ponze of Flesh. The items needed are really difficult to get yourself unless you level all crafters to 80 or if you have tonnes of money to buy all the items off the MB.
With (admittedly very good) level 50 crafting gear and my crafters in the mid-50s, I can very reliably make the items myself. Make sure to check your gear INCLUDING OFFHAND is good, level 60 scrip gear should be overkill.
Since you don’t get the anima weapon replicas until you are done I feel like saying that the base realm reborn relic is the least grindy is a bit of a misnomer
Anima isn't a 12-24 hour grind anymore. You can't pre-farm certain steps like the aether oil from the archmagus quest since they removed it. I ended up making an excel spreadsheet of all items and it came out to like 23k poetics and 140k grand company credits. Passive grind, yes, but the poetics alone make this a ridiculous grind if you try to rush it
HW is by far the easiest, followed by ShB then ARR and finally SB - Eureka is just an absolute pain in the ass and massive timesink (I'm talking specifically about final stage weapons)
I got 3 Anima relics already for my DRK, PLD and AST, for ShB i got my SAM, GNB, MCH, DNC :) Meanwhile i havent started any of the ARR or Eureka relics, hmm maybe in the future hopefully
I'm reminded of how much I burnt myself out farming my very first relic ever. Canopis Lux, I love you but you have traumatized relic grinding for me. I've never tried it again.
I actually just started on these on a new char I made when I returned. I only have the arr zenith for smn and pally and started atma on smn. She is 80 though so I prob shoould work on something harder but it's basically just a time sink when I just want to run around and waste time. being able to run dungeon unsynced though is a great advantage though.
I finally got the cronus lux after envying everyone who had it. It took a while due to needing lots of company seals and poetics as well as the light farming but it's so worth it.... i'm gonna do it again for DRG
I wish there was a way to preview all the relic weapons. I was disappointed to find out that my Scholar relic clips with my glamour when it is holstered on the hip.
That is only partially true about the Bozja relics, because once you've completed the first, you can complete the follow-up relics in less than a day easily Edit: Especially after Tuesday's hotfix

I had a feeling you were going to show off Dragoon and Dark Knight. You have a soft spot in your heart for those classes
Desperius will always be on my list ! Top quality videos as always ❤️
Thank you man 🤗
Thank you
i picked up my first relic (ast anima) just a few months ago - was super excited to show it off! then i went ahead and accepted weekly quests for singing clusters, allagan oil and things of the like, spent poetics/seals on the various items (unidentified, pneumite, sand) so i just had a bunch on hand when i decided to do the next one. it took me something ridiculously quick, maybe like 4 evenings, to get from start to finish for my nin anima - super easy to get!
Thanks a lot man !
I just started, and this is a perfect video!!!! :D
I am glad to hear that. There will be many more coming and no list can stop that !
Thank you...I will push out even more hours of content to watch. So you won't be disappointed
@@DesperiusFFXIV You da best ! 😍
This was very helpful. I’m going for the Heavensward relic first. I just hit lvl 80 by doing the MSQ so doing all this other content is awesome
You've been kicking the guides into high gear lately it feels like. Rock on!
It was strangely so therapeutic going through it
I've done Eureka when it got released, I expect it to be nerfed now.
Your timing on this video release couldn't be more perfect! :D
This video made me start and finish my realm reborn relic.
I'm still grinding arr ZODIAC relic for my warrior...that bloody axe looks sick then it lights up its fire...270 mobs 27 dungeons 27 leves n 27 fates later u unlock...A WHOLE NEW GRIND CONGRATS
Haven't done shadow or end yet
But my experince with stormblood heavensward and realm reborn.
Perfect vid for where I am n my progression.
I started playing about a year ago and so far only grinded one relic weapon: the ARR Dragoon spear "Longinus Zeta". RIP my gil, but I think it's by far the coolest relic for DRG.
Oh yeah, it is gorgeous!
Follow up weapons can be done quicker.
tldr (shortest to longest):
First weapon: ARR > HW > ShB > SB
Follow ups: HW (pre farm) > ARR > HW (non pre farm) > ShB = SB
One thing that you have to give ARR weapons is that all of them have a great base weapon design. And if you don’t like the base version there is always the zodiac version.
Such a flood of information.. GIVE ME MORE!!!!!!!! >:D
Trading in a weapon permanently sets a flag to make its replicas available, so long as you've completed the quest A Vital Title.
You deserve to be on that list too!
god damn even anima weapon questline exhausted me, i can't even think about others
Desperius, you’re the best! I’m sorry you didn’t make it on the list. Love the content, I’ll be sure to drop some subs next time you stream :)
Don't be sorry. It is kinda my fault as well, not streaming a lot. Thank you nonetheless ! I will keep it up !
The "hardest" would be ARR IMO and ShB, Just because of time investment involved
for sure, the SHB everyone says is sooooo easy is god damn AWFUL, 180 old raids we've already THOUSANDS of times at this point especially if we have even 1 anima weapon? it's fucking asisine and stupid and feels HORRIBLE
eureka is the WORST what are u smoking???
I've been slowly grinding for my Sam shb relic
And my pal heavensward weapon at the same time,
Really helps with getting sick of doing one thing
Yes, you get the shiny weapon early, but you can't get the glamour replica for it unless you complete the entire relic to the end so...
I was just about to comment this. You cannot place relics in the armoire unless they are replicas.
Only in ShB allows you to do this sadly
Wait what?!
7:37
So what are your favorite relic choices? I've already made a small list of what I would like but with 4 and soon to be 5 to choose from, It's easy to miss some good ones!
Honestly here's a like just for that thumbnail, there's. just. something. about it :)
Just found you and going to be watching some of your guides, keep up the work friend!
I recently cleared my HW DRK relic and got to skip my first step cause I had fully completed the Zodiac ARR Relic, felt good man.
@artiq40 Oh, meant my ARR relic in general. Was a PLD Relic that I tossed.
I recently finished my lilith zeta... The pain was real but so worth it.
I am doing my 4. Zenith... I HATE those books
@@Vaeyz Yeah I spread it out over like 5 months lmao
i skipped doing anything eureka after the shiny armor. the relic are just meh at best to me. the glow effect is below the moggle crafted weapons and without their charm.
Recently finished my second Anima, probably gonna get one for a tank, too.
in your opinion whats the best looking weapon for ninja?
@@robertoiannarella2640 the Zodiac NIN is really nice looking!
I just hit a relic reborn quest as a free trial. No marketplace, so time to grind crafting.
Based on the title of the video I thought this was going to be about which class has an easier / quicker relic grind etc.
One of the first Videos i ever watched from you and wow the quality you put in is really good. Also could it be that you are German? Den Akzent würde ich aus ner Meile wiedererkennen xD
So ist es ! Danke für das Kompliment
i did the book grind yesterday. god damn books
i started 2 weeks ago... i want them all! I am determined omg
Same, is finally started to grind them, i finished Bozja, not i go backward on the list:))
The difficulty of every rank is equal to the last rank because last time I checked you can only glamour the replicas and you don't get those until the weapon is complete.
With Ressources prepered i needed less than 3 hours for the full Anima weapon , ARR took me like 15 hours from scratch.
Ohh I still remember the Atma Farming and Books…. Talk about grind
Repeat resistance weapons are probably at a similar difficulty to anima now if you want a final stage.
Ive been grinding the Heavensward relic weapon. On the last two steps. Much grinding of solo dgs to go. I wanted to get it as a sprout but i grew up before i made it. Still going to get it done
*Laughs in almost having finished his 3rd anima weapon, planning to get them all eventually*
On the zodiac questline I'm stuck at A Ponze of Flesh. The items needed are really difficult to get yourself unless you level all crafters to 80 or if you have tonnes of money to buy all the items off the MB.
No they aren't difficult to get, even on Free Trial. Take it slow. You've already gotten this fair. Well done!
With (admittedly very good) level 50 crafting gear and my crafters in the mid-50s, I can very reliably make the items myself. Make sure to check your gear INCLUDING OFFHAND is good, level 60 scrip gear should be overkill.
didnt expect the shade in a shiny weapon video.
Since you don’t get the anima weapon replicas until you are done I feel like saying that the base realm reborn relic is the least grindy is a bit of a misnomer
I cannot imagine gaining any satisfaction from doing ARR relics. Especially when equally good glams exist.
Anima isn't a 12-24 hour grind anymore. You can't pre-farm certain steps like the aether oil from the archmagus quest since they removed it. I ended up making an excel spreadsheet of all items and it came out to like 23k poetics and 140k grand company credits. Passive grind, yes, but the poetics alone make this a ridiculous grind if you try to rush it
Ty for your content bro
I thought you weren't able to glam the lower step relics until you maxed them? Like I can't glam the zenith step till I max the relic to zeta?
I saw your video about Eureka and it nearly killed me running it haha
Got my summoner blade weapon...want to glam immediately
How do you make your game look so nice and colorful? Settings or ?
HW is by far the easiest, followed by ShB then ARR and finally SB - Eureka is just an absolute pain in the ass and massive timesink (I'm talking specifically about final stage weapons)
I got 3 Anima relics already for my DRK, PLD and AST, for ShB i got my SAM, GNB, MCH, DNC :)
Meanwhile i havent started any of the ARR or Eureka relics, hmm maybe in the future hopefully
I'm reminded of how much I burnt myself out farming my very first relic ever. Canopis Lux, I love you but you have traumatized relic grinding for me. I've never tried it again.
You don't need to be on a list to be the best FFXIV youtuber ;)
Wow, thank you very much for that compliment!
Literally just going thought this and needed a guild! Thanks!
Some time stamps for the different relic weapons would be great
I finally got the cronus lux after envying everyone who had it.
That is only partially true about the Bozja relics, because once you've completed the first, you can complete the follow-up relics in less than a day easily
Edit: Especially after Tuesday's hotfix
7:49 i wish i could have matching ability affects to go with that set.
Where do you get the staw hat for the ninja? I want that bad. Your ninja is wearing it early in your video.
Thanks
IMO the final HW relic for DK is still the best one in the entire game.
