One of my friends who studied abroad here in Japan made beef wellington for Christmas when I was in college and it was delicious! I made it slightly different from how it's traditionally made with ingredients I got from a Japanese supermarket!

【Ingredients】(Serves 2)
300g beef tenderloin
salt & pepper
2tbs Dijon mustard
15g unsalted butter
200ml dessert wine
15g beef stock
1-2 clusters of mushrooms (or 300-400g of any mushroom you like)
1 clove of garlic
30-50g nuts
Prosciutto (enough to cover the meat)
Puff Pastry (enough to cover the meat)
1 egg yolk + 1tsp water

Buy some dry spaghetti, pecorino, prediced pancetta, some eggs and freshly ground pepper to make yourself an authentic carbonara. Start to finish, 15 minutes including boiling the water. Simple and delicious.

@@simonnilsson8375 making food in the oven is easier because you don't have to watch it constantly and recipes often have clear instructions on how long you need to bake it. You could also try cooking things in a microwave :)
@@simonnilsson8375 its all about practice and getting help when you need it. My older sister is a pretty resourceful cook so I call her when I have questions and sometimes we get a good laugh out of a strange mistake I made. My cooking is super basic but I'm always looking to expand it (in very small baby steps)
@@simonnilsson8375 frying stuff is actually really difficult. My mom is a great cook but when we tried to make donuts for a school project she really struggled with it. Oven stuff is easier than stuff in a pan, I find, because you don't have to watch it so much.

Seriously though, the mushrooms! I can get some of these Japanese ones at my local deli shop, I've tried a couple varieties in cooking and they're excellent! Somehow, they also... look super appetizing..? Also, when he went to the shop with the mushrooms, I honestly thought they were jars with weird mushroom-shaped lids, at first! :'D Never seen a shop like that, before.

theres something about jun's videos that are like an escape from reality. a perfect escape. delicious food for days.. never going hungry. cute cats. amazing views of the nature. and not to mention the wholesomeness of caring for the environment. these videos are so refreshing i could cry. i don't mean to sound deep but this is such an underrates cooking channel. sometimes its just nice to relax with these videos.

I love Gordon Ramsay but his beef wellington is for his restaurant chains, so it's a recipe and plating that his chefs can easily repeat in a set amount of time for the guests. In fact it was one of the challenges he set the kids in Masterchef Junior - he demonstrated it and they had to go make it the same way. They were kids 8 to 13 years old. I'm not saying they're inept and the recipe is easy, just that Jun's is on another level.
I’ve made this recipe and everyone loved it it was a bit overcooked but it was my first time and the sauce turned out great
