    Interesting point with the thought experiment about a world where people strive to be sad. Who here has ever wished they could just have a good cry and let it all out but couldn't?

    What you speak is the core truth. We let go of our reservoir by doing absolutely nothing. I used to think letting go or surrender was an action, and now I realize it's the opposite, the complete dropping of personal will. There is both a dark and light nature to reality and by ignoring the dark and clinging to the light we create an imbalance within us. Only by accepting all sides of reality including our painful emotions can we come to balance/enlightenment which isn't what people traditionally think it is. It's more just living ur true expression and coming to peace with the way things are rather then "transcending emotions" or reaching "bliss". Good work, keep it up, I've come to these exact same realizations and truth, and this is where all true enlightened beings will guide you.

    Letting go method, is exactly the same as ending panic attacks method. It's the only way to end any level of anxiety. Non resistance, let it come up, and let go.🎉

  • @anupbeatz736

    The best and only way to deal with emotions is to accept them as they are. Once you accept, you can look back, reflect, and then move on. Turn your negatives and turn them into your positives. Sure you can look back at them, but acknowledge your past and who you are, because you can't find what you love if you don't believe in you. Daily reminder that we all got this 💪💪

    Absolutely the truth, it's amazing how one core factor is the point that holds all of the rest of your fear/feelings/issues together. Here with the example of fearing being alone being tied to all of those other fears that lead all the way up to public speaking. A lot of these things would easily go away if we recognize where they really come from. I say "easily" because some of these issues we have were made and embedded in our subconscious and core-operating system when we were young and didn't know what the fuck we were talking about/experiencing. A school or classmate trauma, for example, is no longer valid to us, but we have been with it for so long, we think it is. The fears we used to have are no longer useful to us. Of course there are issues for certain people that would not "easily" go away depending on what they stem from, but there are still quite a lot that can be taken care of right now. I heal by walking/doing cardio at home and/or cleaning around the house and just straight-up talking to myself.

    Been watching this stuff. Last night I laid down and set my timer for 10 mins to just allow myself to feel. Most of it I just felt pretty easy then almost at the 10 min mark I started to feel this discomfort like I don’t want to do this anymore so I thought maybe I should feel more into this then all the sudden I felt this extreme heaviness sit on me and my face just starting tightening up and I started crying and I was like ok I gotta do this for 10 more mins. The emotions got so intense I went from sadness to anger to sadness and then even moments of this euphoric relief and I just felt so alive the pain of sadness and anger still came and was there and then I started getting flashes of images almost from the past or maybe just my imagination. Really intense. Then eventually the whole 20 mins was up. Afterwards I just felt like I’ve never felt, like I could just feel as opposed to never feeling anything. And the feeling was just consistent it wasn’t anything crazy at that moment but for the rest of the night I had it. Felt amazing, and I could still feel now writing this. I can tell I got a whole lot left to unfold there. I’m not sure this is exactly what you’re preaching but I feel like it’s in the right direction, and even that was honestly life changing

    • @robertsullivan9232
      @robertsullivan9232 2 роки тому +3

      And honestly at this point in my life I’d rather feel the heaviness of sadness and anything else then just the dullness that I’ve felt for most of my life. I’d state pump and do some Tony Robbins get myself going stuff but there’s nothing like really feeling what I’m feeling, how you say if someone were to feel what you’re feeling right now what would they feel. I prefer the real feeling how I actually feel than anything else.

    The book high performance habits states that having role models is a common thing that high performance people have. In the book the shrimad bhagavad gita, they call krisna the supreme PERSONALITY of godhead. The spiritual figures are meant to guide you to the way. The problem is that people are gullible and short sighted. But having a role model is better than none. In zen, they say that once you are able to sit in the lotus position you are in zen. The point is that high energy activities lead to higher energy thinking and mindsets. Great video

    I think a better treatment of this idea of our relationship to good and bad emotions is this. Rather than saying something like "if we were conditioned to think bad was the 'proper' emotion, we'd feel excited about it." I think thats incorrect. Because absolutes do exist. But I do agree with treating our relationship to each emotion in a more accepting way. We should accept where we're at, and accept the emotion we're feeling currently, but be striving for joy and contentment. The ultimate joy and contentment is knowing you're whole and accepted and loved, and giving love in return(giving, action, etc.). Love IS action. Love isn't just something one says to another. It's action. My pastor describes God as such: Holy is the essence of Love. Love is the function of Holy. Extrapolating further, holy is the being, love is the doing. But if we go even further God is BOTH. Meaning the two ideas are not separate. God is both holy and love. So the WHOLE complete being is one who has combined the paradigms of being, doing and having. Being isn't the highest paradigm. It's when you unite all three paradigms. God is holy, His function is love, and He has ALL things/endless energy/eternal. He is the picture of all THREE paradigms combined.

    • @sda1819
      @sda1819 2 роки тому

      Going further. Living in ultimate joy for eternity is the final frontier. To know God and be in His presence for eternity is the goal. What did God do in His infinite power and eternal presence, when no creatures or creation existed? He OFFERED VALUE. He created new beings so they could experience His goodness/glory for eternity. That's how much He loves. The final Word on this was Jesus. His Word says if we confess with our mouth Jesus Christ is Lord we shall be saved. For there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. He is truly the only way to everlasting contentment and joy. 🤘

    Letting Go/Transformation Mastery changed my life. I foolishly let it slip but recently got back into the practice. The strange thing is that when you let go things that bother you drift out of your conscious awareness, so it can be used to keep a track of your progress. It's subtle at first but it works.

    Julian, I have an unusual question. I noticed that nothing feels appealing to go towards. I spent years meditating marathon style to the point of having a lot of awakenings, major perceptual shifts, and observing all my habits and just how my mind works. The shifts from that were dramatic and radical. My life and the ways people treat me are a universe apart from how things were previously. Then I left that behind after about a decade of experiencing these extreme shifts.
    Then I spent about a decade focused solely on practicality, systems, and being pragmatic overall. Learning and applying everything I could find.
    I found myself playing the why game to dig deeper into why I want anything and I find myself repeatedly going in circles.
    I sit in silence trying to find the appeal in going towards anything and nothing seems to be appealing enough to work towards.
    There are plenty of things I want but the wanting of any of them seems to be so mild it doesn't justify the work or change needed to acquire any of them.
    Is there a trick or process to finding what's appealing to go for?
    I feel like the only motivation I have is to escape things that are undesired. But even that doesn't insight any lasting motivation.

      Thank you. I love the responses and believe they are great steps for most people.
      I figured it out after a couple days after I wrote the question. I spent almost 3 decades fantasizing about an ideal reality that isn't possible and wanted it so badly I was willing to do anything for it to be real including marathon rounds of meditation and any action step I could think of and I ran those to exhaustion... but that reality isn't possible as it's nothing like actual reality. ie... it wasn't wealth, girls, or muscles or anything like that. It went way past anything I've ever known anyone to want or have, including all celebrities, monks, billionaires, athletes... etc
      So right now it's just knowing that's been running in the background since then and causing me to compare anything in reality to that fantasy and nothing I see in reality comparing.
      I have to let it go but I know that's easier said than done after having that run me for almost 3 decades.

    My ex was a ‘MEDICINE MAN’ - everything was perfect! He wasn’t the body or the mind.. we were all one! The world was one big illusion - in the end I was like REALLY? FFS! - this enlightened one now hates me but rang me to say all is good because he now forgives me (obvs! Of course he does 😳🤭) for ending the relationship! Anyway! Sound advice this Julian and you made me laugh lots!!!! 😂🙏, thank you

    Wonderful ❤ but just one thing..oldage spiritual guru just doesnt give talks they give some practices which have helped millions to come out of addictions. Its jot just the talks that people look upto to them. Listening to them is temporary. It will go after the talk. But the practices are what help.

    If we take fitness example. I am fat and I don’t like myself as a fat person. Can you get rid of self-hate by becoming fit? Or by loving yourself as you are? I know that best method is to do both . But hitting gym can be escapism from self-hate and if you become fit there is no self-hate of being fat and there is no need to let go. So what is correct lane ?

    • @JulienHimself
      @JulienHimself  2 роки тому +2

      By identifying the hidden payoff of NOT getting fit... Once you let go of that, you'll naturally be inspired to work out. Lemme know if you want help with this: www.julienhimself.com/mentoring-application
