    Interesting note on smiling. I started doing it regularly at work. I’m moving around a lot and seeing lots of faces. I can immediately identify people that are in a competitive mindset by how they react to my smile. People in a competitive mindset will become insecure or even aggressive if I’m smiling for no reason. Cooperative people will act noticeably more friendly and talkative. Really interesting stuff

    I've used this collaborative vs competitive mindset as a focus for last few years. Sometimes you have a bad day at work in a negative frame of mind or whatever and that puts you into a competitive state. Practice the exercise of how am I on the same team with my environment? Find legitimate reasons and competition mindset melts away. Love you guys rock on🤟

    This is so true! Been reading self development books since i was 13, at 17 had a NLP master. I am at a point now, at 25, where i read and listen to the same books and audiobooks i have read for the past 12 years. no matter HOW MUCH information you have access too, sometimes… You are just not ready for the information, and i rediscover something new almost everytime i read the books again, things i apparently could not comprehend the first times of reading them 😂 self development is truly, a life long process 🙏🏼

A couple years ago “before Covid lockup and before the shaming paradigm really happened” the energy from laughter and enjoyment was viscerally audible at these seminars. I was at such a level that every joke he made, I amplified it with another joke un a split second and everyone laugjed harder and harder. It was the most amazing, freeing night of my life but after that i retreated, I was even the popular dude between him and his best friend that wanted to know if i liked them or not, which is crazy because those two together were super cool dudes. I understand the idea but don’t know how to do it. It reminds me of my daughter who can talk and talk and talk. She’s only 8 but she hasn’t been completely molded by me , her mother or the rest of society. She doesn’t consider the consequences of what she’s saying so she just talks. That childhood paradigm is so similar to the “being” paradigm, where you are just in a constant flow state. I wish I knew how to get back there

      @alexsanoff585 2 роки тому +1

      @@salvatoregiordano4202 an example may help; imagine you are meeting up with coworkers to go bowl after work. The competitive mindset is focused on winning the game and whatever else that includes such as less joking, less fun banter and a more serious tone. The collaborative mindset on the other hand would involve prioritizing getting along with the group and exchanging fun times. You might still want to win the game but it is not the focus, the focus is fostering good relationships and encouraging good interactions. It’s essentially the difference between being agreeable versus disagreeable and you can look these traits up online. They are to a large degree biologically inherited but I’m sure you can become more agreeable with practice, mindfulness experience and an exfoliating goal to do so. We also become more agreeable naturally the older we get. Hope this helps.

      Yeah, everyone has that. We all go through different moods throughout the day. Regarding bringing value: It depends on the environment you are in. You can also focus on self-esteem, which should fuel your value. A good book regarding that is: Nathaniel Branden Six Pillars of Self esteem. As stated in the video, just roll with the mood you have and babystep towards changing your mood. So, bringing value depends on the environment. Bringing value in a club is having fun. At work it is doing your job .

And this has all been started because of my acne, and ever since I’ve gotten it, it’s always made me health conscious and I take it to heart. @@harishot4953 I am currently in the process of that right now, and have been. But after years of trying to figure it out, I've just now figured out what is causing mine. This has led me to go full carnivore for my diet and get 9+ hours of sleep daily. Also having "professional experts" and media tell you that you have acne because of a dirty face, wasting money on creams and such as wasted me both time and money. Not as easy as it sounds

      @@Oblisk That is awesome that you are figuring out. I would just follow the advice of a dermatologist. I do not think it is easy to apply the suggestions, but finding out what to do should be easy. Actually applying the suggestions is pretty hard, agree. And what about the selfisolation because of self development part?

      @@harishot4953 dermatologist didn’t do anything. If nothing else works, they put u on a medication that is like super concentrated vitamin a that has a bunch of side effects and messes up with your micro biome and cause bad long term effects for some people unfortunately. But I appreciate your thoughtfulness, but the self isolation part is something I have to overcome myself. I have this weird mindset that if I’m not fully taking care of my health and it’s not top notch, that I have to fully focus on myself and “isolate” myself from others. But I do believe because of certain lifestyle and health complications has an effect of me being able to be my best, it’s obviously not the only factor and having a social group that I can bounce back on for emotional help or just the essence of socializing, that would help as well, I just have to figure it out which with time will heal. Patience is a virtue, never rush anything

      @@Oblisk Regarding the isolating thing: That sounds like a form of perfectionism. I would suggest just trying stuff out and learning along the way. Perfectionism can be very paralyzing. When you look at successful people, they failed over and over again. They just learn from the failures, course correct and then continue going.

    Amazing advice, amazingly relatable. I do however feel that the gentleman with the beard was operating at a different "frequency". I was almost not able to understand what he was saying (I'm native English), I suppose I could describe it as a congruency mismatch. I'm sorry to admit this but I literally skipped all of his speech. I went from a calm state listening to Julien speak and connect with me, to wondering how to slow down the pace of the robot reading to me from the "how to" manual of life...

    very interesting. But I do sometimes notice some resistance with the concept of "being high value". You talk about it as being a central kind of thing, but what's the idea/purpose behind being high-value? It seems almost like another way to get approval (if I'm high value, then people will like me) but that kind of defeats the purpose as being high-value should not be about seeking approval. So why then is there so much talk of being high-value? Could you clarify that?

    • @JulienHimself
      @JulienHimself  2 роки тому +5

      Being high value is the OPPOSITE of approval seeking... Being high value means TRULY coming into your own. Knowing who you are, what you value and where you're going. Being grounded in your own reality and drawing state from within.
