- This week we look at all the TV news tamasha around the #Supertechtwintowers demolition in Noida. TV anchors gave us breathless coverage starting from almost two days before the actual event. They jumped in Audis and Jeeps, got into CGI helicopters and gave us countdowns to the blast. #RepublicTV boasted that they had 100 cameras to cover the demolition.
This week also had some depressing news when it comes to crimes against women. A tragic case of a young girl, #Ankita, set on fire by her stalker, Shahrukh, hit the headlines. And two similar cases of teenage girls being attacked by ‘jilted lovers’ came to light in #UttarPradesh and #MadhyaPradesh. Meanwhile, the latest #NCRB data told us that crimes against women saw an increase of 15 percent in 2021. Instead of focussing on the issue at hand, #AmanChopra of #News18 India used the #Jharkhand case to carry forward his nightly agenda of whipping up communal hatred. #NavikaKumar used the case to make comparisons with the outrage over the release of #BilkisBano's rapists. If there is anything more shameful than men getting away with committing heinous crimes against women, it is how the usual suspects among TV news anchors cover many such cases.

Typical method of setting up a Straw man and destroying it. The other side has no way to defend itself. All the jibes and barbs that you shoot come out of your conviction. Others need have the same convictions. But of course you cater to your audience. I do not find fault with you. Please aslo understand that anchor riding the car is also pandering to her audience. I was actually busy for few months. I wasn't watching entertainment news channels or even UA-cam for news updates. Right now I am 8 months pregnant and I am also studying to become a government teacher. I have to complete my syllabus before delivery. I was studying Sultanat Kal and bhakti andolan. Those days there were real saints who wanted people to live in harmony and peace. Those Bhakt Saint and Sufi Saint were real hero.
Your news made me realize how badly India needs bhakti andolan one more time. But who is going to be like Kabir, mirabai, gurunanak, chatanya mahaprahu, Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, baba farid, Hazrat Nizamuddin? No one.
I feel disgusted by these today babas and saint. I don't know if thing will ever get better? Because things are getting worse. It's not just Hindus hating on Muslims. Muslims are doing the same.

@@Ammy_Bajwa NDTV is again a 24x7 news channel and has advertisements like others. It becomes difficult to differentiate. Remember the days when Aaj Tak was a half an hour show on DD Metro having more TRP than entire DD news.
If your motive is to provide news then entire world's info needs just 30mins a day and since you have limited time, the show will stick to news instead what we see today useless debates, mindless opinions, brand promotion, headline management, sensationalism, promoting propaganda, casteism etc.
A 30-60min daily show can be the disruptor and that show must not be hosted on any of the existing channel else it will be diluted. It must be broadcasted and then switched off keeping the cost to the minimum.
You can see the impact of these kind of weekly shows on youtube, they garner loyal, well aware audience and would retain the news longer than an average viewer watchinh TV news. If they go on TV their reach will increase multifold and news will create the impact they deserve.

I think we should have an independent regulatory body setup to constantly monitor the news channels in India. Public should be able to raise their complaints, ask questions and provide feedback.
