The only reason it slightly works is Gasly is the likeable one on that line up and wants to better the team. Can only go so far if the other end of the garage is a toxic, head up his own arse prick that destroys any harmony because he wants to be top of the team.
Bruno Famin showing clear anger at that move was probably a boiling over of things even from last year. When you have the same problem with 3 different teammates, it’s pretty obvious who’s at the root of it. Plus a Gasly and Doohan lineup is way more interesting and likable anyway.
He just needs to be in a one driver team. They exist, and then he's responsible for the whole team's fortunes. I think that suits his philosophy better than "my job is to try to win, but I need to be less win-focused around this one guy who I'm measured against more than the others anyway", which seems to be how he views same-team drivers. Given that, he's going to be toxic either in a Monaco way, or in a 'not really helping the weaker teammate' way in a multi-car outfit.
Why not just sack him now and give Doohan a 15 race audition? Does anyone really think at this point that Ocon is going to be in an Alpine next season? So since you all said no, then why run the risk of him doing this again and costing the team millions of dollars in destroyed cars? @@zlm4869 Vettel had a mildly competitive car, and was struggling to keep up in the AMR. Ocon isn’t too mediocre, but a huge prick. Selfish, immature, and just an asshole on the track. Alonso won Hungary for him, Hamilton was miles quicker than Ocon and would’ve overtaken him if it wasn’t for Magic. I have to handle it to Ocon though, his speed during some races in 2021 was not bad.
@sidharthtirkey44 I get that but you’re not understanding what I am saying he was holding a 4 time world champion behind him, making 0 mistakes in 70+ laps, with the pressure on him at all times
The problem is Ocon's attitude, his huge ego prevents him to have any accountability for his mistakes, even if this cost points for the team. He always blames any incidents as external factors and never his, without any accountability, he will never learn or get any better, so I think what we are witnessing right now is a driver that already at his maximum potential. He will never be a champion as he won't get any better.
His ego? 😂 I don't think he has a whole lot to have an ego over lol dude is a waste of a seat I say kick him out after every f1 seat is full and get doohan in and let ocon out of f1 completely
Ocon has had a huge chip on his shoulder ever since Max was selected ahead of him to drive in F1 even tho he beat Max in F3. Like alonso pointed out, ocon fights harder with his teammates than he does with other drivers. He only cares about beating his teammate to make himself look better, he doesn't care about the team. He has a huge EGO. We get that in racing, incidents happen. What matters is the accountability following those incidents, and ocon has never shown any. Alonso, Perez, Gasly, all three are great drivers who didn't have teammate issues until they raced with ocon. And if that happened with 3 drivers, then the problem is ocon.
Ocon has a serious immaturity problem. Watch Hungary 2022 when he was so focused on blocking Alonso. This was the year after Alonso‘s defense helped him win a race. When Ocon’s driving gifted Ricciardo a double overtake on the Alpines, it really encapsulates why I despise him. Alonso immediately left for a slower team at the time, I would’ve done the same.
This is going to be the case for any driver competing directly with another driver at a high level in the same car when they’ve competed in karts 2:05 We only notice it bc this is the rare time top talent overlaps like this as both are young. Unless you can cite specific information about their “off track” issues, nothing to report there for now then. We saw it at merc with Nico and Lewis too. It’s not a problem for the likes of say George and Lando as they wouldn’t likely be paired but you’re out to lunch if you think it would be copacetic if they were on the same team. It would not.
Daniel Riccardo has mentioned in the interviews, it was not a walk in the park to have Ocon as teammate( Put it mildly). Also remember ocon was hired by Alpine(he didn't have a seat). And Riccardo was ahead of him.
I really like Esteban's story and would root for him. But he's just not doing himself any favors with his clashes with teammates. Even without Kimi Antonelli in the picture. Toto would not put Ocon with George and potentially have his cars crashing into each other again.
Honestly any story is meaningless when you behave like Ocon does. His story would have been admirable to get to this point if he wasn't so insufferable and selfish. All drivers need to be selfish to some degree, but Ocon takes it to a toxic level. He will never get a top drive with his mentality and lack of maturity.
He is and the pathetic little boy still calls himself Merc junior driver despite having ZERO association with Merc beyond Papa Wolff. Ocon is a little coward who doesnt understand what being in a team means
It's Ocon who is broken and can't be saved. No matter what teammate you give him, he will crash into them again and again. He's been in F1 for a while now and has had this issue every year with every teammate and just doesn't learn from his mistakes (but how could he? He barely ever admits it's his mistake). The only reason he is still on the grid after he was booted from it in '19 is because he's French and a French team was looking for a decent driver. Who else would take a broken team player?
Sums him up perfectly. While I don't hate him as much as everyone does (the hate for Ocon is too much imo) if his mentality was better he could be a good number 2 for top teams
Yes, but he's not a great one to get away with it. Senna/Prost was a spicy pairing, but BOTH Alain and Ayrton were greats, so each got away with it and won championships. Ocon is just a very good midfielder that is an absolute cretin when it comes to teamwork.
Ocon will have been told, before the race, do not (unless we tell you do so) attempt to overtake Gasly, this is Monaco and the risk is far too high. Then on lap 1, what does he do? That is why they are furious.
polar opposite these 2 drivers. Gasly seems likeable maybe not as top tier like Max Charles Carlos etc but seems like he is a good teammate to be around. Ocon is just average driver who thinks he is the best. has a bad attitude problem. remember when he messed up Max's win in Brazil a few years ago and almost always tried to mess up Nando's race?? Ocon easily forgot the only reason he got his one and only win was because of how Alonso held up Lewis for so many laps. Ocon needs to go to Formula E
I can't imagine Oscar with how good he's been with McLaren, being forced to try that tractor of an Alpine car wasting away his true natural born talent fighting to maybe get a point instead of fighting for podiums.
I cant see any team wanting Ocon to be honest , i was a big fan of his when he burst onto the scene, but in recent years I’ve noticed he has a fairly large chip on his shoulder, and is only there to beat his teammate any way he can
The incident did not merit the penalty when Magnison was let off the hook for lap 1 incident. This whole situation is Bruno Famin's fault after the team bungled the Alonso situation, then the Piastri situation then deciding to pair Gasly with Ocon despite their history. Now this is a red line although when Gasly took both of them out in Australia 2023 you did nothing about their first incident?
He had one of the best junior career and, while always driving for mid-tier teams, has a win and multiple podiums. Like and dislike whoever you want but be objective about it.
Sure bruhh😂😂😂. Sargent, zhou, even bottas and Perez nowadays get a seat now and ocon dosent?. Too much hate it’s just a crash and only happens like once a year with him
The hate towards ocon makes me sad. He is one of the only driver who wasn’t born with a silver spoon in his mouth and in an ocean of priviledge. He got where he is through sheet talent, perseverance and hard work, with no financial backing. His competitiveness gets over the top often, but he is a much more likable guy than many in the grid.
The way I see it, Ocon is stuck in a nasty feedback loop, the world is against me so I am against it: something happens to prove it to him and he gets worse from it, ie: Max getting a seat before him, lance getting his seat, getting overlooked for Bottas and so on. If he can't get out of this tunnel vision mind set, he's not long for f1.

Ocon doesn’t have the all around qualities required to be an F1 driver. Just 20 people on planet earth get this privilege and you have to be top tier every race weekend. So when Pierre cuts off Ocon in Australia the consensus is that Ocon should had backed off, but when Ocon cuts off Pierre, the consensus is that Ocon was in the wrong? Make it make sense guys. You’re only as good as your last race, and Pierre is eating dirt right now. We all did the same thing to Ricardo when he came back with high hopes only to be getting his ass handed to him my Tsunoda. We wouldn’t say that Tsunoda is the problem just because Ricardo has a history of success, so I’m Not sure why this is being spun to make Ocon look like the driver that needs to go.

If I was running an F1 team, I certainly wouldn’t choose as teammates two guys who have hated each other in a very personal way since they were 10 years old.
If I was running a F1 team I just would never choose Ocon at all.
Monoco GP is essentially Alpine's home race, the big boss from Renault are probably there. Crashing in front of your paymaster is bad enough, but crashing with your teammate is a spit in their face. Famin is right to be furious at Ocon,
Since this season is a writeoff for Alpine, benching Ocon with Doohan isn't going to change the team result much and they get to evaluate Doohan for next year.
Piastri dodged a train wreck lol
Ocon and KMAG dream team. Make it happen!
LOL! 😎🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
How many races before there is a fistfight between those two? I like it!

Ocon is very toxic
You would think him not being remotely considered for the Merc seat despite being a Merc driver should been a wake up call
Toto is also his manager!!
says it all!
@@jeffbarnett3702 After what he had to deal with between Rosberg and Hamilton, I can't really blame him for NOT having Ocon there. Guy seems like he wants to throw hands with ANYONE he's paired up with.
Yeah Ocon may have the talent to be in f1 but not the mentality. With all the talent currently not on the grid this probably will be Ocon's last season unless he can prove to somebody that he's grown up a bit with a few seasons as a test driver.
100%. Thank you. Also, remember when he was in the running for the Mercedes seat in 2019/for the 2020 season? And for various reasons, they kept Bottas.
Ocon is a clown who always takes racing against his teammates to the extreme.
Well that’s what f1 is about. IMO he is an og f1 driver not a modern day nice guy driver. I’m not saying his actions are always correct not at all but I respect it
@@maximem5356bro ur there to score as many points as possible and beat ur teammate that way, not like ocon does driving like hed prefer a 19-20 instead of a 1-2 if it means hed be ahead of his teammate
To be honest, a driver pairing that doesn't like each other can still work if they are professional enough. But Ocon never was professional, he didn't work well with Checo and he didn't work well with Fernando. And, given his arrogance, I don't think he'll ever work well with anybody
The only reason it slightly works is Gasly is the likeable one on that line up and wants to better the team. Can only go so far if the other end of the garage is a toxic, head up his own arse prick that destroys any harmony because he wants to be top of the team.
I’d be taking Gasly and binning Ocon. The guy is one torpedo away from having his garage moved from next to Gasly to Faslane.
Ocon is selfish
I don't why an team principal would get ocon he literally toxic
Cus he's fast.
He’s slightly above average, not worth the hassle
@@Collouk1 an average racing driver is way worse than for example mazepin.
Ocon: the guy your driving instructor warned you about
Bring him to Mercedes please - the look on Toto's face as he takes out Russell would be priceless!
Bruno Famin showing clear anger at that move was probably a boiling over of things even from last year. He wasn't team principal then but Monaco 2024 showed that nothing changed between this year and last between Ocon and Gasly. I doubt he will actually bench Ocon but it should be a stern warning that nothing like this should happen again this year.
Well I wouldn't be surprised Famin benches him because Famin fired Otmar in spa weekend to make himself the team principal and get the lime light. He is the same guy who is responsible for alpines engine and the same guy who told the team to praise his engine work although it's the worse on the grid by a good margin.
He is the same guy who was responsible for contract's of Oscar.
The same guy who forced otmat and Laurent to delay Fernando's deal .
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he gets benched for Canada but I also wouldn't be surprised to see a law suit as there is no way in hell a manager like Toto Wolff wouldn't have mentioned everything in details and a billionaire like him can practically ruin Bruno's life
@@MuhammadNiz007Toto doesn't care at all about this junk of a "driver" otherwise he would have got the Mercedes seat instead of georgie boi.

Reading comprehension is hard, huh?
Hopefully Ocon won't get a new seat in F1
Nobody expected this to work..I don't expect ocon to be in F1 much longer. Ocons strategy is sound ..if you beat your teammate you can't get fired... But he will try and beat them by any means necessary he's proven that from the beginning.
agreed. No one (RB, Merc) is going to put him in as a #2 because he will never submit to another driver and why would teams like Haas or Williams risk the damage he creates? Neither has the resources to deal with in fighting or wrecking a teammate. He's also shown no capability to help improve any of the cars he's been in.
Sadly he will still be in F1 for more years to come.
@@Grexen-bo6zp if Ocon doesn't change his attitude he won't be for long in F1.
@@freyalove3831 That I hope, but I don't see it. He has gotten away with his attitude for so long, so he will probably continue and get no reprecussions. But I hope ur right.

So glad Piastri isn't stuck in some petty Ocon bullshit early in his f1 career. Might have completely changed his trajectory.
When you have the same problem with 3 different teammates, it’s pretty obvious who’s at the root of it. Plus a Gasly and Doohan lineup is way more interesting and likable anyway.
Ocon vs Russell will be interesting.....
The moaning and whining would be intolerable
Will never happen lol I don't think toto will ever be that desperate 😂
No matter where Ocon goes he will have issues with his team mate. It makes you wonder why any other team would actually want him.
Second question: why would Haas or Williams with their limited resources want to bring in a driver that doesn't cooperate within the team structure? Neither of those teams can afford a selfish (insecure) driver ruining development and cars.
It's a shame too because of Ocon's story. That alone would make him so much more popular, but he just doesnt seem likeable
Ironically that story is where his mentality comes from...
@@thomasvrielink299 oh yeah poor Ocon had it so rough. His silver spoon was slightly less shiny than the other drivers on the grid.

- Stroll (daddys little boy causing more damage than Magnussen to Haas)
- Zhou (no hard feelings, just maybe not enough??)
- and Logan (just not enough)
Ocon is the worst teammate in F1 he has such a broken philosophy.
It's intriguing that the most broken driver lineups always contain Ocon. Remember the Ocon-Perez days? Just get rid of this overly aggressive and mediocre driver once and for all.
He’s not mediocre lol, he’s a race winner lol, and you all say Alonso won him the race, yet he had a 4 time would champion in Sebastian Vettel, behind him all race, he doesn’t get enough credit for that
@@zlm4869 "you all say Alonso won him the race"
YES, he did.
@@zlm4869
Vettel had a mildly competitive car, and was struggling to keep up in the AMR.
@@PhazerSC and what about Ocon holding Vettel behind for 70+ laps, no one gives the credit for that at all, but no typical honestly
A French civil war? I’m shocked
They’ve had 3 incidents in 2 years. All of this they can’t work together is a bit of a stretch.
Everyone saw this coming the moment they said they’d be paired together.
It would not.
tbh, all i care about is that Piastri managed to sign with mclaren instead of their team. he dodged a pretty fat bullet
All of Ocon's teammate pairings have been toxic except for maybe Danny Ric, and he is the common denominator
Its crazy how hard he drives against his teammates but barely even tries against anyone.
Is Toto still Ocon's manager? Because this is important

Ocon is not good enough to be so difficult to work with.
Maybe it’s the BWT logo that affects Ocon psychology?
Saying there is a problem with the team pairing is a little misleading. There is a problem, with Ocon...
Ocon is a good driver with a shit mentality
Sums him up perfectly. While I don't hate him as much as everyone does (the hate for Ocon is too much imo) if his mentality was better he could be a good number 2 for top teams

Well said
He's trying to ride the "oh, look at me, I didn't grow up with a lot of money, I'm just a smiley normal dude" vibe far too far.
Ye there's only 1 word needed to explain why the lineup can't be saved:
"Ocon"
sacre bleu
Ocon=Au con
polar opposite these 2 drivers.
Icon and Stroll should be on the same team, I would enjoy watching that very much

Blame Alpine management. They knew Ocon reputation and they knew his "close friendship with Gasly" so, what did they expect to happen.
I can't imagine Oscar with how good he's been with McLaren, being forced to try that tractor of an Alpine car wasting away his true natural born talent fighting to maybe get a point instead of fighting for podiums.
Rumor has it, Ocon even gets in to fights with his mirror

Ocon fights with literally every teammate he has.

Ocon needs to go. He has no business in F1 and never has.

Sure bruhh😂😂😂. Sargent, zhou, even bottas and Perez nowadays get a seat now and ocon dosent?. Too much hate it’s just a crash and only happens like once a year with him
He can drive
The hate towards ocon makes me sad. He is one of the only driver who wasn’t born with a silver spoon in his mouth and in an ocean of priviledge. He got where he is through sheet talent, perseverance and hard work, with no financial backing.
His competitiveness gets over the top often, but he is a much more likable guy than many in the grid.
Is it coincidence that Ocon had problems with all his teammates?
The way I see it, Ocon is stuck in a nasty feedback loop, the world is against me so I am against it: something happens to prove it to him and he gets worse from it, ie: Max getting a seat before him, lance getting his seat, getting overlooked for Bottas and so on. If he can't get out of this tunnel vision mind set, he's not long for f1.

I don't think you can really claim that during H2/23 Gasly was better, like you do at ca 5 min. mark. Your own graphics shows that when both managed to finish, Ocon had usually better position. Ability to finish at all is another kettle of fish entirely, tho.
Ocon doesn’t have the all around qualities required to be an F1 driver. Just 20 people on planet earth get this privilege and you have to be top tier every race weekend. That’s what sets the great ones apart. Ocon’s legacy is trash and Alpine needs to take the trash out ASAP. We wouldn’t say that Tsunoda is the problem just because Ricardo has a history of success, so I’m Not sure why this is being spun to make Ocon look like the driver that needs to go.
