Join Emma Kenny where she takes a deep dive into this tale of stalking and murder which could almost be mistaken as the Jodi Arias case.

I have BPD and my fiance had an affair 6 months before our wedding. My first thought wasn't to get a gun and shoot him in the face. It really angers me when killers use mental health as excuses to get off with what they did. It's the reason mental health has such a negative stigma around it.

      Thank you 👏👏👏❤❤❤
The BPD aspect is particularly frustrating, because, as a psychologist, and a sufferer of BPD, it absolutely INFURIATES me when people use this particular diagnosis as a get out of jail free card.
As you mentioned, your first thought wasn't to get a g@n and sh00t your boyfriend, it was to say, OK, if that's how you feel.
If ANYTHING, we're more likely to harm ourselves as opposed to anyone else!!! ❤❤❤💐💐💐🙏🙏🙏

From this video, I now realise that the ex I have been a reluctant "friend" to, knowing he has no one else in this world, is falling into the problematic stalker category. Just over two years this is going on and when I put up firm boundaries, he goes silent for a week then shows up outside my work, my GP, my flat. Constantly texting and phoning. Blocked his number and he uses other people's phones to call me. Might be worth talking to the police about this. Thanks Emma for making me see this - my family have tried saying much the same thing (which always ends in an argument - too many emotions involved) but hearing the 'entitled to be part of your life and have your attention' describes him exactly.

Like a lot of people, I find the similarities between Shayna & Jodi Arias extremely interesting! Extremely happy to have you in the UA-cam community; your personality & talent of being extremely knowledgeable, caring, with the ability to share information about psych & criminology not only in a professional way, but also in a way that "regular" people comment on certain people & cases (ex. last week's case where you spoke on how a friend Stienkes age would've reacted if he told the his 500yr old werewolf story, it had truth & humor)! I also see the regular human & mom in you when it comes to cases involving the innocence of children, which I believe most of us share a similar anger with the most vulnerable being violated in any way.

Thank you for your statement on BPD. I have it and as soon as you started to describe Shayna's behavior I knew she had it. This happens quite a bit in the true crime videos I watch. But the fact the you said people with BPD don't go out and kill people helps destigmatize the disorder. 💜💜

I have to say I’m SOOOO glad you have a channel. I’ve been interested in true crime for YEARS and I remember you from so many TV docs but I consume most of my content on UA-cam nowadays so it’s amazing that you are here. I love the way you effortlessly tell the victims story, providing such brilliant insight into the psychology of the criminals whilst also being raw and honest. I can genuinely say you are now one of my favourite creators. Thank you.

This is a case that has always interested me. I think that Shayna was obsessed with Ryan and couldn’t bear to see him with someone else, or picture her life without him. And in her immature mind, she believed that she would get away with this. Sad all the way around.

Ohhh I'm so glad you're doing this case! Shayna is another Jodi Arias, these women are absolute predators, killers! Neither of them showed remorse, Jodi with her "survivor" tshirt and Shayna saying "I gave him the nose job he always wanted" AND the way they both acted in the interrogation room when no one was in there. Also, how they played themselves as the real victim. PSYCHOS!

I wonder what her thought process looked like when mentally committing to the murder. And when the time came, did she just go through the motions or was she actually present and excited to be going through with it. Hard to wrap my head around what this looks like in such a person's mind. She appeared to feel absolutely nothing afterward. So hard to wrap my head around.

Could you talk about the case of gypsy rose Blanchard? I find this case really interesting and would be good to see what you think of her conviction. I'm sort of on the fence that she was conniving but then I also feel maybe she wasn't and maybe she is very nieve and doesn't deserve the sentence she got after already serving a sentence living with her mum. I have followed you for years and love the TV programmes you have done. I think I've watched the majority of them and it always fascinates me the take you have on cases. Even if I watched a programme about a murder before I always like to watch your view as you have a totally different view on it than whats shown in documentaries. I would love 2 videos a week.
