This is why I fully believe human beings aren't supposed to partner for life. We get bored. We constantly seek excitement. Life is HARD. People change. I'm not saying have kids with 500 partners, but this whole "YOU MUST STAY WITH ONE PERSON FOREVER" is totally unrealistic for most people.

I feel that he was unfairly charged tbh, it was clear that he lost it in the moment, and as much as its not right to kill, he felt like he had lost everything, and in a way he had. Her betrayal was awful and most probably tipped him over the edge after his marriage started to break down and his wife’s miscarriages, especially as he wanted children. His willingness to have the vasectomy was extreme in the circumstances and so were many of his reactions to trauma. Beheading his best friend who was the man who he obviously felt caused his wife to not love him anymore, on top of him being the one giving his wife what he could not, a successful pregnancy, is another extreme reaction. I doubt if he would have done this if his wife had not cheated but it is something he was obviously capable of which is frightening. It’s a difficult one 😢

This is a tragic case..his actions were overboard and brutal but I do consider the fact that the man was betrayed by his wife and his friend and the kick in the teeth is she was pregnant ..after he had a vasectomy in consideration of HER needs! I do think he lost it and was blinded by such hurt and rage. He did not kill her or an innocent unborn and he confessed. Is he evil..I don't think so..his actions were. There is responsibility all round for this. They did not know he would do this but what they did led to his pain and rage. Just so so tragic.

When I first met my husband at my friend’s (now BIL) I couldn’t get away from him fast enough! 6 months later we were an item, 8 months later we were married, and in April we celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary. We haven’t had the easiest ride but what we have learned is to be open and vulnerable with each other. We talk to each other about our struggles with our mental and physical health, and we support each other in our own ambitions and goals. We don’t always see eye to eye but finding our happy middle ground comes from effective communication, love, and respect. Marrying young allowed us to grow up together and that experience has been great, but we’re both aware of how blessed we are to have found each other so young. Like Emma says: In your 20s you have time; use it.

I see a major problem with what the wife didn't do -- she didn't divorce her husband and then have a relationship with the one she wanted to be with. If she had just cleared things with her husband, i.e., told him she was unhappy and wanted a divorce and then sought a relationship with another man, this murder probably wouldn't have happened. I find it appalling and sickening the way people slip around behind their spouses' backs and have affairs instead of handling the problems head-on to begin with.

If 23 is too young to decide you don't want children, then it's too young to decide you DO want children and that's massively hypocritical that you think they were mature enough to HAVE babies, but not mature enough to decide NOT to have them.

I was 9 months pregnant with two small children under five when my husband left us homeless with nothing for a 19 year old girl. I know the pain. But I never blamed the girl ( even when he walked out on her and she called me crying) and I certainly never got violent ( but I did smash a coffee pot against the wall which felt good)

I met my current husband in our economics class in our senior year of high school. Had our first kiss on the night of graduation and moved into an apartment three months later. We started talking about getting married at 6 months and finally got married 11 months after our first kiss. He left for military basic training shortly afterward. We've just celebrated our 10 year anniversary ❤ my mom was skeptical of me getting married at 19, and our story is the minority, but sometimes you just know when it's right.

If picking up a knife isn’t premeditation then I don’t know what is, his intent was to kill or seriously maim not to peel an apple. I think there is a lot of disdain being directed towards the victims in this case rather than the perpetrator.

Thanks for another brilliant video, Em! Could you consider covering the case of Richard Everitt, a 15 year old in Camden, London, in 1994. It's controversial as it was around the same time as the Stephen Lawrence case, but it has never been given the same notoriety. But why not? Equally two children killed in similar circumstances 🤷🏼‍♀️

Murder - no doubt about it. But where was the onbase security when this happened and how was he able to decapitate the head and seemingly just pop it in a "Head" bag and go off to the hospital with his gift for his wife?

I don’t know, I still feel there is temporary insanity/crime of passion here.
This is probably the first case where I’m struggling to feel empathy for either the victim or the wife. Murder almost never the answer but there are some cases where the true power of human emotion is underestimated. He didn’t run, nor did he try to hide it.
As gruesome as his actions were, I feel like if he had slowly started poisoning both of them over a long period of time, then I would probably have less empathy for him but… there are some levels of betrayal that can turn the most sane person into a monster.
    This story is horrible!
    Over a long

It’s the lies isn’t it. Why lie especially when she was pregnant. I hate lies it’s the hardest thing ever. The trauma thing is so true, when we lost our first baby within a month we put our house on the market and sold it first day. Everything happens for a reason I know but we ended up in a house I’ve never loved

Faithfulness means absolutely nothing nowadays, clearly. Literally everyone in my family is divorced with kids, had affairs, multiple children to different men or women, my family is a mess! I'm literally the only one who hasn't! I have 2 children to 2 dad's but I had to leave my first child's dad to protect my son from the multiple sex offenders in the fathers family, literally no choice in that at all it was the best course of action.

  • @LKRyden
    @LKRyden 28 днів тому +1

I would say that two lessons are important to learn from this:
    1. Don't define yourself by your relationship, resolves your attachment/abandonment/issues that makes relationships difficult BEFORE you get into one (or as soon as possible if you are already in one), and learn to have a relationship with yourself first (speaking from experience of trying to fix my traumas and holes inside with the idea that romantic relationships make you whole - they don't), and always remeber what my psychologist has been teaching me in therapy: there is no such thing as a soul mate. There is no one out there that is supposed to "complete you" and be your other half. You are already whole. Your not looking for a soul mate, you are looking for a life companion, not something missing, just something that's a profoundly happy addition to your life. Addition - not an essential.
    2. Actions have consequences. Don't do unethical things that you know are wrong - the consequences might not match the crime, and you won't know that until it's too late. It's not a question of what is fair, the balance of the universe is very harsh. It won't teach you the lessons you need based on what appropriate, it will teach you the lessons based on the options available to it, and it often goes for the harshest way first. I learnt that in the PTSD-for-life-kind of way, don't be like me.
My condolences to all the families and victims in the scenario, especially the kid who grew up without their dad ❤️
Take care and stay safe, guys ❤️
