- With Toys For Bob having recently announced that they've become an indie studio. Celebrations are in order, but it's also naturally left a lot of both the Crash & Spyro communities with a lot of questions. Even beyond just these two series.
So we're going to take a look at what we know, and what kind of ventures we could see Toys For Bob take as an indie studio. Let's Go!

Also, in regards to the bit about the Insomniac Games layoffs... yeah, a trailer dropped for their now cancelled multiplayer Spider-Man game, The Great Web, a couple of hours before the video went live. Not sure if it was cancelled due to the layoffs or upper Sony management decisions, but it's definitely more salt to the wound for the studio. :(
I wouldn't be surprised if it was because of that and something else, like last minute copyright problems or because of how bad Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League did.
I'm definitely going to be in the minority here but I actually don't mind it being cancelled as after all IG has gone through recently, and that we've gotten a fair amount of Spider-Man content from them over the course of 5 years, I'm okay if they suspend/cancel/or shortened any of their leaked projects and focus all their efforts on finishing Wolverine and Spider-Man 2 DLC, then working on something new like a short Ratchet & Clank game.
It's gonna be interesting to see what brand new IP they come up with in the future. Honestly, Yooka-Layle didn't reaalllly land that much, but it's pretty cool for what it is. I want to see what TFB is capable of doing with so many potential partnerships, as well as the idea of possibly rehiring some previous people that were affected by the layoffs as a result like Madan.
Don't lose hope pal. Crash Bandicoot and Spyro returned before, and if Toys for Bob can make good games with those franchises, they're sure to make some more newer and better onces again. There may be layoffs from other studios, but I'm not going to let that bother me so much. Because really fun video games don't fade away, They always come back with better graphics and features. If Toys for Bob is going indie, there's sure to be more stuff related to our beloved game characters. Just don't lose hope. ;)
With Toys for Bob going Indie, I hope that Spyro can get some more games. I love Crash Bandicoot, but I think I would like to see Spyro the Dragon catch up with him when it comes to number of games and remakes. Of course I still would like the quality of Spyro's games to be good so I don't want to rush them. I just think I hold Crash and Spyro dear to my heart equally.
This is the opportunity to make the biggest comeback for a dead franchise that still has fans hoping for a comeback

I want crash team rumble to be revived because I felt like the game ended too soon
As a fan of both Sonic and Spyro, why do you think Sonic has this "for kids" stigma, but Spyro doesn't, despite the latter being aimed at 8-10 year old kids?
It's one of the worlds most perplexing mysteries to me
I think in Sonic's case, it's the result of games like Sonic Colors, not being as dark as the previous games. Or something like that.
Spyro on the other hand wasn't trying to tell as grand of a story most Sonic games do. It's got more to it's stories than Crash or Mario does, but it does have a Sonic Colors problem with A Hero's Tail feeling watered down, and possibly being the cause of the mindset. Before going too far in the other direction, and having the series become too dark with The Legend of Spyro Trilogy. Not as far as Shadow the Hedgehog's game, but still.
I don't know, at the end of the day, Spyro's been through a lot. So a lot of what's said in that regard, feels unwarranted.

Yeah, Spyro in terms of story, characters and lore is quite similar to Sonic. Like, Spyro himself and Bianca more or less had the same kind of arcs as Tails and Shadow - Tails and Spyro accomplish amazing big things despite being children, and Shadow and Bianca switch to the good side after realising they'd been manipulated by Gerald and the Sorceress

Toys 4 Bob should make a New IP That feels like a Spiritual Succeesor Spyro, Crash, & Skylanders, maybe a Qilin Mascot in a Asian Mythology, & you can play Other Gods from Indian, Koreab, & Japanese as Collectable Toys.

Why did you gotta take a jab at Sonic when he is dong well? They just need to work on new IP.
Not really a jab at Sonic, since I love all the stuff the series has been doing lately. I was mainly just referring to how good it'll look, if TFB's other projects are anything to go by. :)
And I agree with them working on a brand-new IP. I'm just saying that they have the option to work on established IP's if they choose to.

The studio became an indie but the IPS continue to belong to Xbox, it is worth mentioning that these IPs were so close to the studio but do not belong to them, in recent years the studio was helping with the development of COD :)
Precisely why I brought up the Ratchet & Clank & Sly Cooper examples. The IP's were always owned by Sony, when the devs were still independent. Same in this case, tho I doubt Call of Duty would be a part of this partnership.
