Crash 5 is inevitable, the entire Crash series including 4 sold really well I don't think Activision Blizzard would be dumb enough not to capitalize on that thought.

True but sonic pretty much makes up for it due to being a very profitable franchise in all areas, sadly I think 1 of crashes problem is that it’s primarily stuck as a video games franchise and for some reason, Activision canceled the TV show and I’m not sure if that rumor of a movie was real but so that too the franchise just need better management when it comes to other media
The N. Sane Trilogy sold 20 million in 7 years in total. Crash 4 sold 5 millions in a span of 4 years. Meaning that those many of those copies were sold on discounted prices on their total lifetime up until now, not necesarily at complete full price. The latest public report on the last big game of the Sonic Franchise "Frontiers" sold 3 million on 6 months. And we are talking about Activision selling that amount in that long time span is an absolute failure to them, if the game doesn't sell 50 million in such little amount of time it's an inmediate failure to them. Or even of they sold good that doesn't make the developers inmunne to being sent to the COD mines or the Blizzard cesspools, remember Vicarious Visions?
Tell that to the company that supposed to work on Crash.
Crash should turn back for who actually creat the game and do actually care for it which is Noughty dog.

I’m coming back to say this video aged poorly.
I love how Crash and Spyro fans are like the only two gaming communities to get along. You always see Fortnite fans going at it with Apex Legends over which game is better. But when it comes to Crash and Spyro fans. We all agree that Spyro games are great games, and vice versa for crash games. It's nice to seeing people being friends on the internet for once.
Maybe at first, but I've actually seen a lot of people start to turn on Spyro and claim the franchise was never good and they should end it all and only focus on Crash. And stop with Spyro easter eggs. It just hasn't leaked onto much of UA-cam yet, but it's pretty bad on Instagram, where I frequent most. 💀

See, I like both. Now, I do recall some literal shit going down when Skylanders came to be. People sent literal death threats over this game, and all that nonsense. Like, if you don't like it, fine. Just don't play it?? People also didn't like the Crash titans games - I liked them, but won't judge those who didn't! I'm better with this style than the OG Crash games, lol. Plus as a Pokemon game player, I always enjoy having monsters by my side. :P
I definitely grew up watching my parents play Crash, but also liked Spyro. I also liked Skylanders! It's pretty insane that there has to be a fight over "who's better" when we know darn well both are awesome.

These reports on how "the crash bandicoot series is dead" reminds me of it seemed for a time the entire internet tried to convince us that "sonic was never good and a dieing series' and now people are trying to do it to crash. Meanwhile anyone with a working brain rolls their eyes or explain what really happened like this video or are watching the explanations like this video

The fans can cry about it all they want but when was the last time a sonic game was a legit contender for best game of the year? Cause in the 90s that was a common occurrence, whereas nowadays it’s considered a big deal if the new sonic game is playable without too much jank. The sonic fans infantilize their own series from having higher standards. The fact the best received sonic game of the last 2 decades is fan-made (mania) sorta speaks for itself. So no, the series ain’t dead but it’s a shell of its former self and the fact the fans get so defensive about it and can't take criticism contributes to that.

@8bitdiedie i think you are wrong in so many levels he did hit his peak since the 90s he even rivaled mario of all thing of course sonic isn't prefect like all franchises are especially mario he has shortcomings for sure but not all of his games suck sonic had more good then bad not just mania like the sonic adventure games,sonic rush games,sonic unleashed,sonic colors,sonic generations,sonic riders and zero gravity, sonic battle, sonic advance trilogy, sonic and the black knight,sonic cd,and sonic frontiers and sonic fans wasn't crying their pissed off the fact how missed guided and misleading that statement was and you can not like sonic all you want and be wrong all you want but can't agree with the journalist just because you're part of the sonic hate train just for the sake sucking other game franchises that did the same thing too and had the same problems as well doesn't mean you have pit down sonic chance you get unfairly instead of giving him a chance to be redeemed like how frontiers did and the movies and also the controls aren't janky in the game i see its more of a YOU problem then the games 😑
A good parallel to "the Crash 5 that never was" would be the Circle 7 version of Toy Story 3.
When Pixar first started making feature-length films, they had a contract with Disney to make seven films with them. After the release of Cars in 2006, that contract had been fulfilled and Disney formed a new studio called Circle 7 to focus on CGI projects. Several of these projects were Pixar sequels, including Toy Story 3, Monsters, Inc. 2 and Finding Nemo 2. However, the studio was shut down in 2007 and all of their projects were shelved, and when Pixar made their own sequels, they didn't even glance at the Circle 7 versions.

The Crash Fandom reminds me a lot of the Halloween fandom : Both of them just got gifted Multiple games/films, both are still unsatisfied. reminds me of the South Park episode "Night of the Living Homeless" where no matter how much money you give to the homeless guy, he keeps asking for more.

One thing that infuriates me is how people looked at Crash 5 not happening soon and assumed Spyro isn't happening either. Like, when the bajillionth Crash game in a row is announced, people think Spyro is dead, but when Crash 5 doesn't happen, they assume Spyro's dead instead of thinking about the potential of them taking a break from Crash to make Spyro. 🙄

BUZZ?!? Bruh, OG Spike lives up to his name, that fight is a freaking WALL of a difficulty spike to new players in Original Spyro 3, and got nerfed into the dirt in Reignited. Buzz was and is a pathetic frogwad in both versions. But games journalists can barely finish a tutorial, let alone make it to the second boss I guess...

When has Gaming Journalism ever been good? Gaming Journalism has been a complete joke.
Crash Team Rumble started development sometime while It's About Time was being developed and it reportedly was postponed up to June 2023 because the pandemic happened and Activision wanted Toys for Bob at work supporting their precious Call of Duty like every other studio. There couldn't be a Crash Bandicoot 5 in that amount of time and Crash Team Rumble couldn't possibly affect any project for a potential mainline Crash game. It was a harmless multiplayer spin-off game that just so happened to be nothing like what the average Crash Bandicoot fan asked for.
We don't even have actual sales data supporting this crazy idea that Crash Team Rumble performed so bad it singlehandedly killed the series.
The fact people took Nicholas saying the version of crash 5 getting cancelled as it also getting cancelled in general is really annoying. Also, it’s sad project dragon gotten canned because the game sounds absolutely awesome.
(Edit: I’ve seen DYKG’s video and I don’t agree with CGE’s video anymore. Still believe project Dragon sounds awesome and sad it gotten canned)

I never heard of crash 5, probably because, guessing here, that it was still being developed and unannounced. Who thought an unannounced game was canceled?
Super Mario Spikers is another one. It wasn't announced, but it was canceled by Nintendo over excessive violence for a sports game.

What do you mean they're forced to work on other Activision games? They announced they went indie back in Feburary, they can collaborate with Activision or Microsoft, they don't work under the company anymore.

@@space.pirate481 They went independent THIS YEAR in February. And we've known there was Crash 4 and a Crash PvP (CTRumble) in the works.. but the Pandemic threw everything out the window and held up the pipeline for a lot of games in the works including CoD.
And Activision always launches a new CoD game every year, it's their main source of revenue. Which would mean they've probably been working on 3 CoD games between 2020 - 2023 until the merger was finalized...
Cut to this year in 2024, Bobby Kotick (former CEO) leaves the company at the start of the new year and two months later, Toys for Bob goes Independent and breaks free from Activision and is working with Microsoft on a project.
The loss of the supposed Crash 5 is unfortunate, but there isn't much we can do now since this cancellation was probably BEFORE the Microsoft merger was finalized.
So, what you're saying is that Crash Bandicoot 5 was NEVER confirmed canceled, it was just misread by some of the viewers, and they assumed that it was "cancelled", same goes for Spyro The Dragon 4.

What if it took 1 year to make a game instead of 10-15. Crash 1-3 and ctr all came out in a 4 year span.
You can always have several writing teams to plan sequels. It just depends on which team makes it to the finish line for green lighting.

I agree that gaming journalism as a whole is a big joke but this really wasn't misinformation, Crash 5 hadn't even been given the greenlight so at best any concepts and work that had been made was simply reused for Crash Team Rumble and at worst nothing was even made beyond the concept portion
@@kdr_roxas That's true, but we won't know since that's probably NDA related stuff. Concept art is all that it is: a concept. It's not enough info to go off from and say "This could've been Crash 5" yeah, but it also could've been used in Crash 4 or Crash Team Rumble.
I wasn't even ever expecting a 5th Crash game in the works just yet.. Especially since the merger and Toys for Bob going indie threw everything out of whack. The only thing I would confident in is the mystery Spyro 4 game that's been rumored.

@@kdr_roxas At this point, we can basically forget Activision giving Toys for Bob anymore problems considering they went independent a couple months ago... Yet despite this, they can be commissioned or collaborate with Activision/Microsoft to work with their properties unimpeded... meaning no more support for CoD for them.
I don't know what Toys for Bob is doing now since then, last I heard was they were relocating their office elsewhere due to building costs.
Here's still hoping we do get a Crash 5 in the not-too-distant future (and, yet again, it’ll be in the style of the N. Sane Trilogy and Nitro-Fueled).

Makes me think of the Crash Twinsanity that never was in comparison. Sure, we _got_ Twinsanity, and it was good, but what could have been was so much better.

I can't believe it! The crash Bandicoot tv series was later canceled. Before production then the fifth crash game come on Activision I hope you don't cancel spyro
I mean, it could have been amazing. A whole new worlds of adventure. An evolution even. But also , maybe it's for the best that we didn't see it come to light. After all, it could have also very easily been a Twinsanity too.
Edit: To those of you who picked up on the references, cheers. "Worlds" is referring to the working title of Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex by traveller's tales and Evolution being the design doc/script that would eventually become Twinsanity after what can only be described as 9 circles of development hell.
Let's be real, the Crash and Spyro resurgence is over. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

It was just bad timing. Activision was moving more and more studios to CoD because these games keep getting bigger, then covid happened which really slowed down Activision it seems, to the point of missing out the PC port of CTR.
Then Toys For Bob decides to pick up Crash 4's DLC and transform it into a game of its own which was extremely bare bones at release. On top of all this, Toys for Bob is "officially" gone and Vicarious Visions/Beenox seem to be fully dedicated to CoD even when under the Microsoft umbrella.
The chances of another Crash and Spyro are nearly impossible. I understand we all want that but denying this is just copium.
This reminded me of the “ps5 is dead” news months back. Basically the article said the ps5 sold 24m out of the expected 25m units sold and many journalists and people thought Sony is making no games for it because of the other news of Sony not making “sequels” of current IPs
Not a big deal as Crash I assume is on break as game development takes a while and I bet the next game will be on hold.
As I would be more open for a new Spyro game.
I would rather prefer to have Spyro 4 happen first, then Crash Bandicoot 5 happen next. After all Crash Bandicoot has enjoyed a resurgence of the original trilogy remade and nitro kart and Crash Bandicoot 4 it’s about time, Crash on the run and Crash Team Rumble, meanwhile Spyro has only had Spyro Reignited Trilogy to his name and he also only made guest appearances as a playable guest character in Crash Bandicoot spin-off games.
I hope to see both the bandicoot and the dragon have the same amount of success instead of just the bandicoot hogging it all. After all Crash Bandicoot and Spyro were both my ps1 heroes back in the day so it would be a shame for one to outshine the other than for both of them to share it together.

Either way Crash 4 did well, I don’t see a future where within the next decade we do not get Crash 5. It will probably just restart development, if it hasn’t already depending on if they want Toys For Bob to work on it after they have done a new Spyro first (which rumours are making it obvious that this is what they are working on now)
