In the days that you doubt your self please listen to this. This piece of beauty that you have created. And know I'm here. I'm safe and I will conquer because of this.
Dear r beny, I confirm Novation Summit does include many multi-patches of yours amongst the factory patches on the synth (also... beautiful piece, love it)
Pretty sweet vibes here... really subtle and soothing. That little bit of noise in there adds a nice edge to it all, things are not quite clear, a little more mysterious....
Hay man, I just noticed your presets for the Novation Peak available in Compoonents for download. I tried them last night and they are amazing. Thanks so much for providing them.
I considered going longer, but this was the first take I was enjoying and that felt somewhat complete, so I ended it. will definitely explore that ending sound in the future.
@@chapoteaukatz oh haha. my bad. well if you have a summit, the patch is up in the components app. if not, try applying a little bit of filtered noise to a filter cutoff. sounds different depending on the filter/synth, but that's the main gist of it :)
@@rbeny Thank you! I don't have one yet, was cruising to see what people were doing with theirs and this was my fave vid - smashed that subscribe button
This is one of the most beautiful pieces I’ve ever heard, thank you Austin. Is the delay coming from the Hermod or the Summit? Excited to hopefully hear more from you soon!
my videos were usually recorded very quick and off the cuff, whereas I like to meticulously craft my album tracks. I also did not properly record the audio for a majority of my videos. I've thought about making properly recorded versions for some of my videos, but time keeps marching on and I can't seem to slow it down no matter what I do.
@@rbeny thank you. Anyway even in a such “not proper quality” its still absolutely enjoyable pieces with beautiful and never experienced before emotions
I keep coming back to this beautiful piece. I've been trying to figure this out and I hope you can help -- if that green flashing light in the background is the tempo, then it looks like the notes played are quarter notes. Did you midi sync a delay to be 4 eighth-note triplets? And if so, which device allows you to do that? Or is it maybe each beat is a dotted quarter, and the delay is a half note? Thank you so much!
so the green flashing light is indeed the tempo of the Hermod sequence, but the way I recorded the MIDI sequence into Hermod doesn't really match the tempo. the step resolution of the Hermod is fairly high, so it basically acts the same as an audio looper would, except for MIDI. whatever I played into it isn't really tied to the tempo or a tempo, but rather just what I was feeling in the moment. that's to say that this piece is not synced at all. in your scenario, it would be possible to sync the delay from the Summit to Hermod. Summit has a clocked delay setting
I just try to be thrifty and save money. cut down on bills and try to live modestly. of course, I'm lucky and privileged to be able to do that. I've also been lucky enough to receive gear from manufacturers in exchange for work, ranging from patch design (like with the summit here), beta testing, or video work.
I am going to be in the market for a polysynth in the next few months, I was looking at either a Prophet or a Prologue , but I must say this one has REALLY piqued my interest lately as it seems to have more interesting sound design capabilities. How are you finding it? Recomended?
I may be a little biased, I was using the peak for a few years before getting summit. I'm absolutely in love with peak/summit, even after a few years. they really excel at producing a variety of sounds. that was a big thing for me, getting away from classic analog synth sounds (though this can do that just fine) and doing floaty/ambient/organic types of sounds. the built-in effects are the best I've ever heard built into a synth. especially the reverb. the effects really are part of each patch, the analog distortion can warm/saturate things up quite nicely. beyond the great sound, it's just a joy to work with. it's quick. nearly everything important is on the panel, and the menus are fairly shallow. there's a sizable mod matrix, plenty of modulation with 4 LFOs and 3 envelopes. I definitely recommend it, but of course I am biased :)
@@rbeny See- those reasons are exactly why I am drawn to it. Ease of access to most pertinent settings, and much more than just the "traditional analogue" sounds on tap (I have a modular synth if I want to go that route, or the BS2 or JP8080 for that matter). The effects being so good they can be part of the sound design is also a big bonus. The dual filter setup looks really interesting too. (The Prophet only having an LPF seems a bit of a weird limitation to me, to the extent of putting me off it).
correct. hermod is sequencing one layer and then I'm playing the second layer with the summitt keyboard. if it sounds like more layers than that, it is because I like to make my patches sound like they are multi-layered :)
yes, still own the Summit. the new firmware is especially lovely, loving the new delay settings (expect a performance video soon). I had the chance to briefly play a friend's Polybrute. came away impressed and I love the mod matrix layout.
@@rbeny Thanks for the response. You were one of the inspirations to start recording ambient on my Peak (thanks for that). Here is my latest if you ever want to have a look (alternate channel). Looking forward to that Summit video. ua-cam.com/video/7auGG6Zn0GM/v-deo.html
a squarp hermod. it's out of focus in the modular system in the back. I actually recently got a small lil case just to house it so I could use it standalone with my other midi gear.
@@maximlamoureux4129 yup, should also be called 'opal' or something similar. that's a good question. I know you can save single patches to multi-patch slots, I made all of these initially as single patches. will attempt to do that and report back

gorgeous and dusty. someone please get this man a film to score
This hits the spot. Gorgeous improvisation!
A real Master of ambientmusic at work...with real masterpieces of instruments...

Will be adding a Summit to my mix in 2023. Absolutely love this sound you have produced. Just adds to the excitement of waiting.
So delicately played, love the white noise and phases of warmth in and out!
A truly beautiful piece on so many levels !
Soft, subtle and beautiful
Amazing, captivating music. Thank you for creating as you do.
Simple, complex and beautiful.
Totally beautiful as ever man ! The Summit is a mighty impressive synth too.
One of the most beautiful ambient pieces I've ever heard. Lovely!
Thank you so much for the patches on the Summit. I enjoy them a lot! Got the Summit yesterday and mostly playing Multipatch B29-B48 ;) sooooo good!
Sooo lovely 😊

I really needed this tonight. Thank you
So exquisitely heartwarming. Thank you for this.
Incredibly beautiful ! You bring so much of the best parts of each instrument everytime !
Very dope. Love the build. Video work is dope too. Got the modular playin back-up in the background. Yeah, this is pretty dope.
Always a pleasure.

Perfect music for a lazy Sunday morning. Thank you.

You are a great inspiration. I wish I had half of your talent. You could probably make great music with a spoon and a sweet potato.
Mesmerising.
Beautiful as always bro
Really enjoyed this piece. Perfect for an evening wind-down with some time to think and be introspective.

Missing your videos. Hope you are well!
thank you. been a bit of a year, but I will be continuing with videos soon-ish!
Way to go man
that pad sounds like the sound i STRIVE to get from my saxophone - would love any pointers for recreating something like that from scratch :)
perhaps try running your sax through some kind of bit shifter? something that can add some noise/artifacts. would be cool to hear that!

the delay is from the Summit. all the sounds are from Summit, with the Hermod only supplying a MIDI sequence
