Despite analog violence from DSI, Prophets, Behringer DM's and others, the Novation Summit simply is the best and most exciting (analog) sounding synth from the past 5 years.
Not kidding. I have an ob6 but my GAS spoke too loud. It’s amazing but the versatility of my peak keeps me coming back to that. And probably back to summit as I miss the interface (I downsized but think I can re-upsize ! )
Yeah, both the Peak and the Summit are top notch - especially how there's the ability to add divergence to sounds to emulate analogue wobble, without the hassle of analogue going out of tune. All of these analogue purists really underplay how much hassle that is. See Tim Showbridge's comments about the challenge of re-tuning the Behringer Model D. Peak and Summit have not of that crap to deal with.
Congratulations Lost Clouds! A really good collection of high-quality, warm, rounded, analogue-sounding patches. Thoroughly recommended. I look forward to future Peak releases. 😉
Hey Tom, just bought these as my PEAK only just came today. I've gotten the Rev 2 ones too which are great. Been wanting a PEAK since release but somehow always missed out on one. It will go nicely with my other gear especially with the UDO S6 which comes next week fingers xed. Thx for doing this, love your work.
Hi! I am currently trying to decide between a Summit or a UDO Super 6 to add to my SUB 37, since you both have the peak and super 6 what would you choose?
@@philippschirmer8752 hard call, I got rid of the S6 and got a 3rd Wave, 3rd Wave is far better than the PEAK, S6 had no screen so that was a real bug bear. To me they're totally diff synths, and the S6 was hard to understand what was going on without a screen. I think you need to go play them yourself to understand this, the Summit is 2 PEAKs with 2 interfaces so you will be able to do a lot more when dual layering. I had a choice of getting a Summit but it was far to big for my desk, also some have complained that the keybed is not the best.
I love your patches! Excuse my amateur question, I am still very new to all that - so what is it exactly that you sell? A pdf file that tells you how to achieve this sound starting from init preset? I already own a Peak, very interested in getting your patches but at my level I don’t know how to “install” them!
Beautiful sounds! I have the Prophet Rev 2. I am thinking about getting the Novation Peak. Is there enough of a difference between these two keyboards so that I am not getting something too similar? Thank you.
The Peak is great! The thing I struggled with most is fitting it into a workflow and around other synths, but for pure sound design fun it’s awesome and definitely different enough to the Rev2 to be worth it.
@@tomgreenmusic Thank you for your feedback! Just one more thing. Do you think it's worth it to go for the Novation Summit, or is the Peak good enough? Thank you.
Fantastic sounds, which I hoped to be able to produce after I received my Peak. The PDF associated with this sound pack, does it offer sort of a guidance, tutorial to how these sounds were crafted? That would be fantastic!
Thank you :) the pdf contains some basic descriptions of the techniques used for the patches, but not detailed tutorials or knob values etc - you can see an example on the Gumroad page in the description :)
@@tomgreenmusic cheers mate! I should receive my Peak this week and definitely buy your sounds. Thanks for the great work! Edit: Found the patch notes example on gumroad now, oversaw it, sorry. These are very useful and will help me learning my Peak a lot 👍
Tom these are truly lovely. Who needs tons of synths … :) well ok maybe an amazing mono too ha ha. And a load of other stuff. Or whatever. 😂 I shall invest when I get home dude. Ps. Curious. You have a sub37 and a typhon. Very different beasts but from a pure tone level?
Very difficult question as it depends a lot on what you're interested in - very very briefly, Sub37 is incredible for basslines, leads and epic sequences/arps etc but obviously can't do pads like the Peak - so if you want any sort of polyphony I'd say Peak, and generally speaking for a first synth I'd say polyphony js very important!
awesome sound design Lost Clouds, I am super curious do you use the pream gain from your focusrite interface too or do you keep that at minimum, because i can see your main volume is pretty low! thank you, George.
Thanks mate :) the Peak is super loud, and with the three main gain stages (VCA gain, distortion, overdrive) it's very easy to get volume out of it, so generally I just keep the focusrite at about 12 o'clock and then adjust the master volume on the peak as necessary!
Thank you :) they don't come with the Summit but you can pick them up here: gumroad.com/l/PeakPatches - it comes with a pdf with full installation instructions and some notes on each patch!
They do indeed! I have the Peak and haven't actually tested them on the Summit but the two use the same firmware and I haven't had any indication that they don't work so should be all good :) and thank you!!
You can pick up the patches here! gum.co/PeakPatches
These are the best pad sounds I’ve ever heard, awesome work
patch 3 was where I said yep… the peak is the one for me. And 4 confirmed it. Saving this video for when I get mine.
actually: just bought the patches in advanced. thanks!
Your patches have inspired me to purchase a Peak and buy your patches! Thank you for ruining my marriage! 😜

Thanks very much Mark, really nice of you to say!! :)
This video just convinced me to get the Peak. I will also be getting these patches when it arrives. Thanks you so much 🙏
These are really cool sounds. Just the type of sounds I'm looking for. Just purchased them. Please make more! Thank you for the hard work.
Thanks a lot man, hope you enjoy the patches and will definitely be making more in the future :)

Took me to another place there, stunning work.
Incredible patches! If I can ever afford it, I know the peak will be the one for me!
Simply stunning sounding patches!
Hopefull going to buy a summit later on in the year.
