    This is a hidden buff with condition. They use only the small portion of the AF point, to reduce calculation load, while kinda accidentally found its application so well in video. Awesome video!

    Hi, what are your expectations for the canon eos m50 mark ii and what do u think it should be priced at?
    Love your work by the way keep making great content like this.

      The rumors are swirling! I EXPECT they'll give us the 32.5 mp sensor and slightly faster high speed shooting. Maybe 12fps to avoid stepping on the m6II's toes. I'm HOPING they give us uncropped 4k video with DPAF, 1080p 120fps slowmo, and the same quality 1080p as on the m6II. It would be amazing if it had IBIS, but odd if they didnt put that in the m6II but give it to the lesser priced m50II. As I expect itll be around $750 USD. They couldn't possibly make the battery life worse could they? so let's just hope it's better. Some days feels like I'm reloading a side arm with how often I swap batteries.

      @@DriveByReviews Thanks a lot, your opinion matters a lot to me. I am considering getting the m50 mark ii next year and it's going to be my first camera purchase. I too hope they improve the battery life on that camera because the battery life is really really bad on the canon m50.

      @@atharvpatawar8346 you're welcome! and thank you for being a part of the channel! I'll most likely get the m50 mark ii as soon as it's released to compare. I wager it would be a fantastic first camera😁

      @@DriveByReviews Will the M50 Mk II be the M6 Mk ii with EVF and tilt screen? What about pricing?

    • @DriveByReviews
      @DriveByReviews  4 роки тому +1

      @@RonScibilia that's definitely not canons style. They tend to purposefully remove upgrades to make clear price levels. I think they want to keep the m50ii near the $750 price point, below the m6ii, and would not be surprised if they still keep 4k crippled. The m6mkii 4k is technically upsampled ~3k! If they gave the m50ii the same or better there would be no point for vloggers to consider the m6ii. Although if they want to beat the competition... I hope I'm wrong and Canon gives us the most amazing camera deal of the century in the m50 mark ii! Hey Canon, Put some of that R5 tech in it 😆👍(ps. if they put IBIS in it but not full 4k I'll have a seriously hard time deciding which camera to go with)

    Great video. Ignoring video AF speed (AF speed is fine for stills) I instantly noticed the improved skin tones and sharpness when you switched to the Canon lens.
    I bought the Sigma 56mm 1.4, sharper than the Sigma 30mm 1.4 and the Canon 32mm might even have the edge over that lens in terms of sharpness. It's definitely sharper at the edges of the frame.
    I really need to start messing with video. I'd buy the Sigma 30mm purely for video, but stick with the Canon 32mm for stills.

      I’ve had both lenses. I’d say it’s a tough call if you have to choose one. Not sure the Canon is worth $200 more, but it is definitely sharper (especially wide open), less purple fringing, and it’s lighter and smaller. The minimum focus distance is also better when switched on. For photos, the Canon is for sure the winner. For video, it’s tough because of the AF speed limitations. And yes, I know Canon did this intentionally to make it more “cinematic,” but it should at least be able to be adjusted to match the speed of a third party lens.

    Loved this. Thank you. I’m looking for the best mirrorless or dslr for around $1200 (body only) to record my nieces. One is a gymnast and the other does local community theater. I will be purchasing a 70-200mm f2.8 lens for whatever body I choose as well. I’m looking for eye autofocus that functions in 4k. Some have suggested Sony a6600 (I’m a little concerned about the rolling shutter) others have suggested Canon M6 Mark ii (some have said eye autofocus doesn’t work in 4k) Any help would be appreciated.

      haha for real, my only real complaint about it. It's such a great lens for photos. The -7 speed reminds me of focus pulls used for flash bangs or grenades where it focuses back on the action from white. Or in thriller scene introductions as the shot comes into focus on a close up of a knife or something... edgy.
