Very helpful Peter, thanks. Here is another one that related to the playback trick. You can zoom in and check the thumbnails using the touch screen, but you can also do it with the F-Stop dial. Turn the dial clockwise for zooming in and counter clockwise to zoom out and check thumbnails.

might be a stupid question.. but for some reason my m6 mk ii is stuck at ntsc shutter speeds meaning 1/60 shutter sped instead of the PAL 1/50 even though the camera is set to PAL. am i missing something?and changing the dial just goes to 1/45 instead of 1/50
I am sure you know this, but just in case...PAL and NTSC should control your frames per second when shooting video. 25fps, 50fps, 24fps, 60fps. You shutter speed is set separate based on the 180 rule. Shutter speed should be set double your frame rate. If you are in PAL shooting at 25fps your shutter speed should be set to 1/50sec so you get that "cinematic" look. I messed with my M6 in PAL and NTSC and can only get shutter speeds of 1/40, 1/50, 1/60 and so on. I can't get it to register 1/45sec. Not sure what to say or how to help. I've looked though the menu to see if you can set the shutter speed in increments, but can't find an option like that. Sorry. I will keep looking and if I figure it out I will let you know what I find.
Hi Peter, I bought M6 Mk6 ii recently and I’m trying to set up the AF but I have a little issue with it, hope you can help. When I look in your video, there is container frame within witch the af can move, the frame in your vid touches vertically edge of the screen, and horizontally there is a space between the af container and the edge of the screen. Now on my camera I have that space between the af container and the edge of the screen horizontally and vertically. How can make it to be like in your video? Hope you can help.
I don't have the camera anymore, but make sure you are in the correct aspect ratio in the first red camera menu. I think it might be or should be in the 4:3 ratio. Let me know if that helps.
Hey Peter, Bob here from The Netherlands. I hope you can help me as you are the expert on this camera and I can not find this in the settings.When taking pictures, I often, accidently, touch the 'fast record button' on the back'. Is there any way I can shut that button off in the settings. I hardly use video on the M6. Thank you
Sorry Bob I did not see your message until now. I don't have the camera anymore to give you specifics, but if you go to the menu that allows access to Customize buttons you can scroll through and select that button and possibly shut it off. Sorry for the delay in responding. Let me know if you were able to shut it off.

Go to red camera icon #1 Movie rec quality select High Frame Rate Enable it and you should be set to shoot 119.9fps. Remember to set your shutter speed to 1/250 and you should be good to go. My next video is going to cover all this.
@@faspete2nd Possibly, I went to manual mode and set it to FHD 29.97P (tip from My Camera Bag) and recorded a few test videos and it seemed to go away... before I was just letting it go full auto. Now, I am trying to find a video that shows the best setting when filming in the shade. If you watched that video it looks dark to me... trying to brighten it up a little. This is the first "good" camera I have ever owned... so, it is ALL a new thing for me... trying to learn.

The record limit on this camera is 30min. If you want unlimited record times this is not the camera for you. You might need to go with Panasonic or Sony for unlimited record time.
@@faspete2nd OK. Thank you for the reply. One more question: In manual mode and the switch on AF at the back of the camera (3:18 in your video), I can not see the focus peaking color om my M6 MII so far. Does this only show with cerain lenses?
I have an actual switch on my lens that I flipped to manual focus. If your lens does not have that option then you need to flip the camera into MF using the MF/AF switch on the back of the camera. You also need to make sure you have focus peaking turn on in camera. All the lense I own show the focus peaking. What lens are you using?

Awesome simple review Peter! I recently just purchased my M6 Mark II but I noticed there is no 4k and no continuous shooting, will I need to do a firmware update for both the lens and camera?
4K video should be there. Make sure the dial on top of the camera is on video mode. Select the menu and look in the RED menu and look under video record menu and 4K should be there. This camera is a 4K camera and firmware updates will not change that. Not sure what you mean by "continuous shooting".
Go back to the wrench menu #4 Shooting info. disp. select Screen info. settings and then make sure you double touch box #3. Make sure there is yellow rectangle surrounding option 3 and that there is a check mark in the box for option 3. Select Okay and then you should be set. If your level still does not show up you might have to go one step further by selecting INFO Edit screen and make sure the bottom icon for the level is checked. Let me know if you get if figured out.
Hi Peter I just bought this camera for yuotube videos that I produce at home. I have having some issues with the videos. I recorded a video of 15 minutes and when trying to access it through my laptop, it doesn't show up. Although with the same setting if i am recording for a minute, I can easily access and download those shorter videos. in the camera the longer 15 minutes videos are there playing fine only problem I really can't access the longer videos to download. When I am going to the camera folder I can see the longer videos but it says 0 byte! very strange!!!!
I have run into the same problem as well. You need to take the memory card out of the camera and download it directly from the computer. If you see that again don't use the USB cable to transfer the file put the card into the computer and the file should transfer just fine. I hope this helps.
hey Peter. Thanks a bunch. we fixed the issue as you indicated. so cool. But here is the other issue. The video is uploaded but it keeps on saying processing HD version, SD complete.. it has been more than 2 hours after the upload it is still saying this... I still kept the card in the laptop... just in case it is doing something that I don't understand
@@raihankamal7386 are you taking about the UA-cam upload? SD uploads first and then HD. I don't think the HD upload has anything to do with the memory card remaining in the laptop.
This is a UA-cam processing thing. If you watch your video on UA-cam before the HD version is complete you will only be able to watch it in SD. Give it time... It will eventually finish and your video will play in HD on UA-cam.
@@faspete2nd yes Pete. I just finished watching a video by learningchords and you are right. That processing will take a while and youtube might end up needing a whole day to process it to HD 4k version. So, no worries about memory card etc... I think if you can make a demo about this and put it in your channel would help. Just my two cents. Rai
What lens are you using? Aperture will only go as wide as the lens is. If you have a variable zoom lens the aperture will change based on the mm you are shooting. I have a 55-250mm EF-S and when I shoot at 55mm my aperture will go from f4-f22, but as soon as I zoom into 250mm my aperture drops to f5.6-f32 and I can no longer get the f4. Let me know if this helps.

@@techgat3keeper879 11-22 is good, but it's nice to have other lenses as well. 11-22 might be a little too wide for some situations but if that's what you have now use it and when you get comfortable with it you will eventually want to explore other focal lengths.
They are both good cameras. You can't go wrong with either one. They both have good auto focus They both have a flip up screen. Sony is more expensive than the Canon, but the Sony has no record limit and the canon is limited to 30 minutes. The Sony is sharper and has better dynamic range, but I prefer Canon's color over Sony. I also prefer Canon's menu system over Sony It's not to say that one is better than the other I just learned Canon first so I tend to like it better. You're going to get better battery life out of the Sony. The canon does not have a headphone jack but the Sony does. Sony has a few more features than the Canon like IBIS, but that's why the Sony's more expensive.
@@faspete2nd Sony's lenses expensive than canon. Canon got good range while using ef lenses bcz the crop factor is 1.6. and Sony has good 4k since it is downsized from 6k. Am i right?

The only way I know to batch delete images would be to format the card. Otherwise I think you have to delete one at a time.

Hi Peter, one doubt, I tought the m6 mk2 had 120fps.
You are correct it has the ability to shoot 120fps in 1080p, but without dual pixel auto focus.

Hey Peter how come in Manual Mode (VIDEO) the aperture will only go so low? Sometimes I can not lower than 5 and other times 3.5

Can you use this camera while plugged in?
Yes. I use mine plugged in using the coupler and power adapter. I also use it as a webcam plugged in with the USB-C cable.
@@faspete2nd Thank you. Just want to ask one more thing, is 11-22 good enough for landscape? Or should I get adapter and use other uwa lens?
