Thanks for this video! I just got my m6 mark II today from Amazon. When I checked the firmware, it still had 1.0.0. So I followed your steps for the update and it worked without any problem. Since I just ordered the body, I'll have to wait until Monday when my Sigma 16mm arrives to start taking pictures/video. Stay safe.

Did anyone else update to firmware 1.1.1 and then lose the ability to monitor audio levels while recording? That’s one of the three reasons I upgraded to this camera from the M50! The bottom left button on the Quick menu for audio has simply been removed. Is it possible to return to an older firmware so I can get that feature back? Has anyone found a way to restore that ability? I’ve seen it in footage of people showing off the camera using older firmware.

I noticed they have the 1.1.1 firmware (Jan 21).
I'm assume if I update this in the same way shown, I'll have all the previous updates in one go?
Or I should I do the previous 1.1.0 and then the latest.... i.e one by one separately in launch order?
Can you help why my m6 mark 2 is showing 25, 50 and 100fps instead of 24, 30, 60 and 120fps??

Hi Alicia, great video. It was definitely an oversight for Canon not to include 24fps on the M6 II to begin with. The lack of 24 fps was the main reason I purchased the Canon M50. That said, does it make sense now to upgrade to the M6 II from the M50, or make the bigger jump to a full frame camera? Can’t wait for your full review on the M6.

Hey, nice vid but just to say you don't really need to format the SD card. You're just using the card to hold the file to upload it to the camera, that's all. The camera is not writing data to and from the card at all.

possible explanation: your video system setting may be on PAL standards and you can switch to NTSC for it to utilize 24p standards

Just got my M6 II. It came with v1.1.1 installed, but I can't find 24p on the menus????? 25p, yes. But that ain't 24p. Any thoughts anyone? I'm in the UK, so on PAL. Hope 24p is only on NTSC?
@AMaeTV - Great video. New to the M6 party :) It came preloaded with v1.1.1 but I only have only the option of 4k 25fps (PAL). Set all my settings to same as seen at 6m 32s of video - definitely no 24fps. 'Updated' the software manually to v1.1.1 just to make sure what it came with wasn't corrupted. Still no 24fps... Ideas anyone?
Just solved it. If I change the settings to NTSC, I can see the 4k 23.98 frame rate
With 1.1.1 have you found a way to monitor audio levels while recording video? It looks like Canon quietly removed that feature in the latest firmware, unless that option is now just incredibly well hidden. There used to be a button for it on the Quick menu.

I have upgraded: the firmware is 1.1.0, but I don't have the option for 4K 23.98p video, but only 4k 25p, FHD 50P AND 25P AND LOWER. Help me!!! Pleasee

I recorded a video in 4k with it at 24fps. Uploaded it to iMovie, and the video is so so choppy, how can I make the video to be smooth like yours???

Hi. I've just downloaded the 1.1.0 firmware from Canon UK and uploaded it to my M6 Mk2 but it hasn't added 24fps. The camera arrived to me with 25fps already available on PAL. Any ideas?

Fezi 360Vlog I did. I changed my settings from PAL to NTSC so I now get 24fps. PAL only allows 25fps

Hello! I’m strongly considering buying this camera! But if I were to use this camera for live streaming will I be able to capture myself FHD (1080p at 60fps) consistently!

Don't forget to update your canon M lenses , exactly the same way, but in the firmware upgrade menu it will show the lens firmware.
Oh yes good suggestion! I've never updated lens firmware, but I do know it's possible. I don't see any lens firmware info on the product pages though.. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks Karl!

I did the update but it stays at 25fps, same before updating, nothing changed... is it because I live in Italy and we have PAL instead of NTSC?

Thanks for your great videos! Can you tell me: When using the M6 Mk2 as web cam (plugged into MBP via USB) will the camera receive power as well, or does it run off battery? (I'm recording church service and don't want to run out of power midstream.) Thanks!
FYI: I think I found the answer... Apparently can only charge battery with the camera off, which means no charging while used as a webcam for streaming. :(

Absolutely! It's still my favorite camera at the moment 😊 Especially with the new Sigma lenses. I'm working on a review to compare the two.. coming soon!
I just bought this camera but can't find the firmware anyware. Is it because I bought it in Vietnam and it has a different software? I have 50p for filming, too.
