When I listened to the part where he said “stay away from these people” I realized that I had a lot of those qualities… I feel so sad because sometimes we ourselves don’t see it until someone points it out. I’m definitely going to change myself to the person that I want to be the self discipline and consistency. Thank you for this video. I’m gonna go cry now lol.
My respect for the people who watched this with the genuine intent to identify and begin the process of correcting their personality and character flaws.Just the fact that you were willing and able to accept the fact that your not perfect and do things that are toxic makes you exceptional.
You are aware that the origin of the data presented is Robert Greene’s book right? I agree the narration and especially infographics are spectacular, making it so much more ingest-able, memorable, and engaging.
It gets frustrating when it seems you are the only person out there trying to improve and better yourself whilst everyone else just gets to act however they want when they want to.
Funny thing is this gen starting with millienals… are more about defining urself and by far the least to try and change ppl… consider how religion and it’s long tradition is seen more and more useless by today’s gen… we are the best gen to actual practice that “advice” instinctively… yes traditions and religious influences is still here and effects ppl butt it’s less influence then it was 10 20 30 years ago
We have a problem of fresh water and most of our land dry. Better to search for solution instead of returning mind 1000 years back on someone move palace with blink of eye ....hmmmm
This book and its summary is a labor of love. Robert Greene is everyman's philosopher, and his depth of understanding of the nuances of human nature is spot on and timeless. Ethereal and sublime.
"He who stands on tiptoe doesn't stand firm. He who rushes ahead doesn't go far. He who tries to shine dims his own light. He who defines himself can't know who he really is. He who has power over others can't empower himself. He who clings to his work will create nothing that endures" -Lao Tzu
@@zxc-lq8un My personal explanation is that if you have a sense of pride in your work, the emotion will make you lose judgement, because of you care about the result too much it get your nerves so you interfere it with your emotions instead of doing the most optimal things. I say this because I used to play poker for living and now trade stocks and bitcoin, that’s just so true in this two specific areas
I’ve recently gone through an experience that allowed me to grow emotionally. Mastering your own emotions requires so much work, but boy does life look and feel so much better. I wish everyone the best on their own journey ❤️
This is so bizarre, I grow myself emotionally by 21. I'm 22 now and preparing myself in the corporate world, who knows what kind of environment and culture I will be facing.
This got to be the most hard working best detailed book summary ever, but also so organized and easy to follow ! I appreciate your effort and what it resulted into.
@@stillsmashin1529 i may be wrong but he gives examples from the past, neurology, biology etc. he also encourages us to learn social intelligence ourselves. hope this helps
@@Celtopia correct, and what an absolutely mind blowing book it is, on my bookshelf. Even though “it’s not the narrators ideas”, he did a great job narrating, more importantly for me, was the accompanying infographic, he does a great job of visually breaking these complex topics down to something more approachable, and relatable.

Please learn how to properly use the word "literally", as you have used it incorrectly to provide emphasis for a word or phrase. "Literally" is a value-neutral term, absent of any inherent emphasis or largesse. Correctly, the word is used to convey that a word or phrase was taken verbatim instead of the intended meaning... or, it can be used in the opposite direction, to indicate that something verbatim, such as a metaphor, should be taken as intended. An English teacher can assist you if you need help understanding.
@@Rich-Fibonaccican you enlighten me more about "literally" And how she used it incorrectly ? I'm willing to learn more about the English language(English is not my first language)
The sooner in life we understand this content the better. Obviously it’s never too late to learn but some people are well into adulthood still not caring to take the time to understand themselves/emotions.
At the end when he was talking about channeling your “darkself,” I honestly felt empowered. I remember times that I was envious of my friend’s test scores and I could definitely channel that energy towards studying more!!
34:28 this one hit me hard. My whole family does this. We all have a fear of failure so we don't do things out of our comfort zone which leads us to not getting further in life. I'm trying to be the first to break that cycle. It's hard when that is all you know since it was passed down through the family.
My ex girlfriend family is like this, she’s talented in singing but never had the confidence to pursue because of judgement from family / friends. So sad, family should be instilling confidence. Our kids should feel & know they could conquer the world
You are enough. You have everything it takes to establish a vision, put forth the effort, and accomplish at a high level. You can free yourself from limiting beliefs.
Positive vibes to all the souls understanding, they’re having a human experience. I have this book and been studying it for two years now. I experienced a unforeseen lost of my 18 year old son, and a depression so deep I didn’t think my mind would make it back, but it did. I was unaware the people in my life was not supporting me, but was using me and playing on my already damaged mental and emotional state for the love of money. I can say now that I am very protective of my energy and self. Being a empath I was going through stuff I didn’t understand but thanks to this book and people the universe sent into my life to teach me. I was indoctrinated by Christians that I never thought I would be as free and lifted up in vibration as I am now. So to all experiencing life situation, go get this book and it will answer they why, and why me!! Best blessings

@Random Stuff it's a quote from the video.. Autonomic nervous system is not the only one existing in our body?!?..there is also a voluntary nervous system... it's when you consciously decide something, for example to stop writing...
These are methods I’ve grown up using to better understand myself and avoid conflict . But I never knew it was psychology until late. This video will help many!
@@iasyama1999 that works well with people under age 60. Getting older just causes grumpy arguing if you try debating with elders, unless, they are very wise people.
An empath is someone that can put themselves into the shoes of and experience or feel to some degree what someone else is feeling. It doesn't mean they're automatically selfless or people-loving.
yeah just be careful to not indulge in the experience or feelings of others that won’t benefit your current or future situation. Some empaths indulge in the fantasies of the weak and narcissistic bc empaths feel what they feel; strong, powerful, unlimited, but it’s only a façade. Use your empathic abilities as a tool to navigate situations and obstacles in life while achieving your objectives that’s on your mind.
Not to take a dig at you, but I think the word "empath" is increasingly co-opted by the narcissists, to the point the real meaning of the word is lost. Someone immediately introducing themselves as an "empath" is a red flag for me. That being said, judging by what you said in your comment, I do think you're a legit empath.
This was absolutely brilliant. Just brilliant. Watching this provided an opportunity for deep reflection and to be a better human for others and for myself. To be better human as a colleague, as a friend, as a son, as a brother, and as a lover and partner. Our specifies-humans-are imperfect, and yet we try to model perfection and invincibility. Thank you for uploading. I actually read the 500 page book and listen to the 28 hour audiobook version. This is a lot easier. So far this is the most detailed and high quality summary I've seen on UA-cam. Please make part 2 and keep up the good work
I read his book religiously as a teenager and no lie that combined with my ambition helped me climb my career ladder at such a young age. I recommend all young people to read this book, its such a great tool for learning how to read people and often predict their motives and actions.
You're ability to summarize and create mental maps are phenomenal. Love the ability to see the big picture and then focus on a particular and then show the big picture again. You have a great mind.
A lot of ppl watching this may think that they are so amazing and how others they meet in their lives are flawed , whereas may be the conclusion of this is that we are all screwed up and in need of constant upgrade ..
Converting key concepts from a best-selling book into the reasonably short video. Well structured and supported by quality infographics and illustrations. What an excellent idea! And masterfully executed, as well. Please keep doing a great job!
I learned so much from this that I need to listen to it several more times to absorb all the content. It’s both frightening and exhilarating to see myself and others personalities described and I now have a deeper understanding of what motivates and drives my own and others behaviours. Thank you for posting this as it will help me on my journey to becoming a better person today than I was yesterday.
If you like the video the book is even better! Goes a lot more into psychology, neuroscience, and evolutionary biology. As well as stories and anecdotes to illustrate the lessons!
I find the multiple levels of self-awareness to be fascinating, particularly realizing that everyone has the potential to do so, but many choose not to because it's difficult to accept the "wrong" parts as part of us. Not to mention how freakishly difficult it is to be rational.
This was the shortest 45 minute video I have watched. I was engaged through the whole thing and time flew because I was learning so much valuable information.
I need to listen to this everyday so it sinks in! Theres a lot of life lessons in this beautiful video. This has been the only video that has kept me coming back
@@escaping.ordinary we understand that it really took a lot of ur time to summarize this book and made this video and we r really thankful to you for this!
This book is so relevant. I married someone, gave up my own space to be thrown out in the core of winter. Unresolved issues not previously revealed to me. It felt like I entered a house of demons and also felt like I was as naive as a teenager. It hurts but I have been put in perspective. We want to believe that we can work through our things together and grow. I suppose the group affect is a big factor and triggers points.
But this kinda seems unrelatable. What if i know my flaws but cant force myself to change them? Short sight, uncontrolable emotions such as anger, insecurity, the tendency to reject or give up. A strange social thing that i tend to do is make people dislike me on purpose. Like calling somebody fat not with the intention of offending them but to make them build up a long term hatred towards me. Honestly it really feels like im putting on a certain role with different people that dont know me. Like always being cheerful, up beat, showing a genuine smile, listening to people and not carring about anything negative. Then with another person being an arrogant prick. Then with another person being sensetive, vounrable. And so on..
It was so refreshing to hear my own flaws come up in different descriptions of personality traits. Also it confirmed my own diagnosis of people close to me and it also resolved some as well. People have a hard time telling someone the truth about themselves because people usually aren't receptive to that kind of criticism. Even if they say they are they usually are not. I however am one of those people that tries to be as open-minded as possible as long as I don't feel like I am being attacked I seem to be able to do fairly well at taking it constructively. But even still no one ever points out areas I should work on. But seeing as I have a hard time keeping friends and and consistently told by people closest to me that I have certain character flaws I know that they must exist to some degree. But cannot get an objective opinion to be able to decipher what is being said to me out of hurt and out of genuine concern for me. So to hear you speak about these things open my mind to my own flaws and then you gave ways to correct them which is even more exciting because now I can get started trying to fix the things I know I do not want to be a part of me. Thank you and please please do the rest of the laws. For someone like me you changed my life... Literally with this video. I am grateful and thankful for you and your words!
Your hard work in animating the video is evident, and truly thought-provoking in-depth in just a summary is AMAZING. I find myself watching this summary every so often because I simply can't get enough of it ! truly amazing content.
It’s crazy that of a lot these points they hit in the video coincides with my experience and from what I learned on my first 5 grams of psilocybin mushroom ego death experience. The shadow hits hard and I’ve always said, since my experience, that we all have an evil/shadow/reptile side of you but you need to know when to put in check and when to use to your advantage

If you're not already doing it, journaling will expedite the process of figuring out who you are, and helping you solve your life problems. It'll also teach you how to think better, which Jordan Peterson believes is the most valuable skill a person can have.
Not very helpful, but these things can be used in a positive way. The point is using them without aknowledging the bad is what leads people to delusional rock bottoms. Pick one side saying “they are very helpful!” While ignoring the obvious downfalls is stupid.
This gers Better and BETTER!!! There are a few things that I actually take notes, but this kept me writting all day. The depth of it is surreal with truths!!!!!!!
After 56 years of life adventure, I humbly submit this is a vital companion kit for a life if human interaction and accurate self- assessment and realization . Some began developing a decent grasp on many of these principles since that 1stt day of kindergarten recess. But not all of them. Thank you.
Robert Green has a keen accurate ability to explain to people what they need to know about themselves and others. If only this information was a requirement to graduate high school, like math or language our children would be much better prepared to face the world. I see all teachings as indoctrination of sorts and therefore we need to absorb our minds with useful information that makes a real difference in our perceptions, as our perceptions become our reality. I believe you must not only watch this video or read this book, but you must also make this understanding reality in your life. For what good is the greatest information in the universe if we don't absorb it and apply it? If you can't explain it in detail then you haven't absorbed it and if you haven't absorbed it you can't use it and if you can't use it, what's the point? That's right, slow down, watch this video, or read the book again and again until you can explain it in detail to others. Then and only then will this information make you more knowledgeable than others who haven't. I see this information as taking a personal inventory of myself every day and vital to my success in life, therefore I start my day at 4 A.M. by listening to this video, and each time I listen I learn something I missed before.
Wow, loooved the visuals! Didn't even realize how 45 mins went by... I hope you make the second part of this video with the remaining laws! *Subscribed*
" The passive aggressive charmer " & " The Rigid Rationalist " are ones that I can very much identify myself with. I never viewed these " behaviors " as strictly negative or toxic before, but after giving it considerable thought, I can see why they are. Thank you for this video, I enjoyed every second of it!
Can I ask why you're nice to people's faces but then gossip behind their back? I've never understood what people get from being two-faced like this. Not asking in a critical way - to be honest I just want to understand because it's never made sense to me.
@@raquelborn The reason in my case could be if it's regarding a shitty boss. I can't really tell them I'm shitty but I have a lot of pent-up frustration with them that needs to come out. If it's not regarding something where hierarchy is involved, it can be that the person in question is too delusional to realize that they're being annoying or rude or intrusive and so on, so a head on conflict or even telling them about their flaws in the most positive and " correct " way possible might just make matters even worse. And the same principle applies here, pent-up frustration that must come out somehow. As I said, this is just my case. I'm sure others have more reasons, I can assume it has to do with insecurity ( mine might too! I might just be delusional myself!!! )
It is immensely helpful to me on my journey of knowing myself... thank you very much... my encouragement and love to all others who are recovering and are on this journey themselves... WE WILL SUCCEED ... DON'T GIVE UP ✊🏾👋👊🏾🙏🏾❤
I feel like i’ve taught myself this just from observing other humans & my life. It genuinely makes me depressed that most people don’t see life in this view & it’s upsetting that people don’t even realize they have no control on their emotions.
I agree, but unfortunately we cannot change others if they won't decide to do the work to change themselves... it's sure sad, but in my opinion there is no need to worry about it too much.
I also learned from watching others. I grew up in a small town with ignorant parents. Not their fault, they just didn't know that introspection existed. I was very unprepared for life. Love this book! You don't know until you are told...
I hate that it took me over a decade to fine tune myself to these laws. It’s a real coming to terms when you realize that you’re what the book says to avoid. Awareness is everything. Too bad I read this book at the end of my journey. Although, life has been beyond amazing with these concepts implemented. Stay true to yourself! It’ll be worth it in the end 😎
I found this channel yesterday and to be honest, I have fallen in love with reading again. The explanations, the voice behind the explanations make it easy for me to see myself in a different dimension. Thank you for these videos.
This is one of the most informative videos I’ve seen in a while, it mainly echoed most of my long-standing believes but also taught me quite a bit and helped me put many of my thoughts into words, thank you.
@@markark7736 Oh no, I certainly learned quite a bit more and was proven wrong a few times, besides, I was never even looking for this video to begin with. I'm simply glad the advice I've been giving others holds more merit.
When I tell you I love this author, believe me.! He is one of the greatest minds and people of all time. I own most of his books. They are page -turner's, intriguing, educational, and a reference for future research if you have forgotten certain rules or laws to apply to your life. If you are intelligent enough to decipher certain concepts that won't alter human behavior.
I'm only about 10 minutes in and I love this. I have BPD so I'm well aware that I live according to my emotions lol I've been trying to learn how to separate myself from that. This is different than what I've been reading/watching, it's so refreshing!
Thank you for this summary, it’s very helpful to listen to it as a reminder. If my teens can open their minds to learning these lessons, they’d much better prepared for their adulthood.
Love this! Every rule depends on one foundation. Knowledge of self; bias, company, strengths, weakness, patience etc then managing all the same things in others to be at an advantage without hurting anyone. Thank you, loved it!
It's refreshing to hear things you refused to believe about yourself. I found myself in a lot of information of this video, most of them which are undesirable but taking a deep look at myself, my decisions, my behavior, my insecurities and fears feels good. I'm happy I got a better understanding of my feelings and the things I cannot control. Great video! I didn't read the book but I'm thinking of giving it a try.
I'll say this again, what did you really learn in school? Learning things like these would mean that most students would start to see the bullshit personalities of teachers amd simply walk out if class! Knowledge is power and the governed school system wants us powerless!
I’m a Big Talker. I have all these huge dreams I love speaking about, but I always flake out because an overwhelming anxiety and lack of confidence in my abilities 🥺🤦🏾♀️
You are okay. All you need to consider is hiring a super hero or shero sidekick. Someone you tell your goals of the day to… and they make sure they check up on you.. Want to be that for me. Or eachother? I am creating a business called …To The T?
I used to be like that, and can still be that way occasionally. For me I think its from growing up as the scapegoat of my family, Ive learned so much since studying this topic, this education has been much more helpful than therapy and years of doing what I can to make my dreams come true and why I keep seeing cycles and patterns of behavior. "Transform self-love into empathy" Empathy for our selves, especially our inner child, is what allows us to have more empathy for others, and its usually with support from others that helps make our big dreams come true

I’m genuinely disgusted by some of the things I did when I was in the peak of my narcissism. I only worked to impress people, I blame others, and I abandoned my true friends. I’m working to retrain my brain to remember that everyone else is a person like me. I honestly am scared of people because I always feel like I’m going to mess up and use that as an excuse to avoid forming relationships
All the laws.I am passive-aggressive. I am learning to pull back my energy from my environment. And I have learnt to be less bothered by anything really. Focused on goals and the bigger picture and pulled back my emotions.
It is amazing what I have learned today about myself and anyone around me even my kids . How fortunate I am thanks for this precious gift , the subjects and your reading so clear paused and easy to understand . Will listen so many more times . Thank you thank you thank you

Man if I could send this video to the whole world. This is top info. could be used for good and bad as well. but it def helps to improve lives. I fell under so many things here and here i thought i was invincible. cheers to bringing this to awareness.
Fascinating stuff. I've been exploring the shadow recently as a relationship I cared deeply about ended up collapsing due to my inability to understand myself. Things are fine between us, but I realized how jealous I was towards her, and that's something I've been wrestling with. Recognizing when my jealousy makes me do "shadow" things or when I am feeling resentful and avoidant due to my perfectionism. Thanks for this. I know I'm not alone now and that I am like any other man that's ever lived. I'll buy your book.
"Understand that you are fundamentally irrational. And that the emotional being thrives on being ignorant." So deep I wont even try to comment on. Just quoting because i wanted to repeat it once more.
Excellent ❤ it hit me like a ton of bricks when he says to avoid control freaks (like me). It hurts so good when life shines a light in what’s wrong so we can improve ourselves.

It gets frustrating when it seems you are the only person out there trying to improve and better yourself whilst everyone else just gets to act however they want when they want to.
In the end,it doesn't matter.

I literally listen to this more than four times a week!! Definitely my all time favorite! You should TOTALLY DO some more Robert Greene books !!

Hopefully that can fix your toxic Self 😂
Please learn how to properly use the word "literally", as you have used it incorrectly to provide emphasis for a word or phrase. "Literally" is a value-neutral term, absent of any inherent emphasis or largesse. Correctly, the word is used to convey that a word or phrase was taken verbatim instead of the intended meaning... or, it can be used in the opposite direction, to indicate that something verbatim, such as a metaphor, should be taken as intended. An English teacher can assist you if you need help understanding.

True but when you are a good person you always in denial about how ppl can be because you personally can’t be like that

Yes I remember Oprah Winfrey has said it. I need to write it in my hand
Robert Greene has completely opened up a whole new world I never knew. I’m so grateful for the information he exposed and taught us.
The sooner in life we understand this content the better. Obviously it’s never too late to learn but some people are well into adulthood still not caring to take the time to understand themselves/emotions.

@Hamy Nguyen hi nice to meet you
The Century of The Self
At the end when he was talking about channeling your “darkself,” I honestly felt empowered. I remember times that I was envious of my friend’s test scores and I could definitely channel that energy towards studying more!!
34:28 this one hit me hard. My whole family does this. We all have a fear of failure so we don't do things out of our comfort zone which leads us to not getting further in life. I'm trying to be the first to break that cycle. It's hard when that is all you know since it was passed down through the family.
Good luck!
My ex girlfriend family is like this, she’s talented in singing but never had the confidence to pursue because of judgement from family / friends. So sad, family should be instilling confidence. Our kids should feel & know they could conquer the world
We must try, we will win
You are enough. You have everything it takes to establish a vision, put forth the effort, and accomplish at a high level. You can free yourself from limiting beliefs.
Yes, that's a challenging defect to conquer 💪 😇🙏💓
Amazing. I can’t believe how tough it most have been ! Amazing to read this. I’m so scared of losing my parents.
I am so proud of you. I can't imagine the depth of struggle you must have experienced to get to the current liberation you are now creating. My condolences for your beautiful son...there are no words...but I am lifting up his spirit & sending you continued vibrations & blessings of peace. You are amazing.
I genuinely wish you well.
Please what’s the name of the book you just mentioned?.

An empath is someone that can put themselves into the shoes of and experience or feel to some degree what someone else is feeling. It doesn't mean they're automatically selfless or people-loving.
Best comment about Empaths ever!
yeah just be careful to not indulge in the experience or feelings of others that won’t benefit your current or future situation.

This is what I’m saying so much wisdom in just short amount of time
Robert Green is a G he made so many books and helped so many peoples about different issues, other authors aren’t capable of doing his work 🔥
I need to listen to this everyday so it sinks in! Theres a lot of life lessons in this beautiful video. This has been the only video that has kept me coming back
I can't imagine the time it took to edit this - thank you for this video!

@@escaping.ordinary this was beautiful. How is this legal though? Its legal to share all this? If I was Robert Id be pissed 😂 not really though.
@@escaping.ordinary we understand that it really took a lot of ur time to summarize this book and made this video and we r really thankful to you for this!
Hello, I am really enjoying this video. Do you have this in pdf format
@@escaping.ordinary how long did it take
This book is so relevant.
Walk past a park... you hear schoolgirls screaming No NO NO!...

One of the most useful self-help audio books I have listened to. The narrator's voice volume, clarity and pace add value to this book👏👏🙏🙏
Maya Angelou said perfectly, when people show you who they are believe them.
Classic!
Can't believe you quoted Maya on Robert Greene's material.
I like that one.
That's such a fantastic quote@
This is amazing. Don't stop doing this. You're helping a lot of people.
So glad this exists. The audiobook is over 28 hours long.
No one presented this content as good as you did. I’m really grateful for your efforts ❤️
Thank you so much S Tbk 😀

This is the perfect video for me to watch at this point in my life. Thank you for taking the time to put this video together, it answered so many questions I have been asking myself lately.
If you're not already doing it, journaling will expedite the process of figuring out who you are, and helping you solve your life problems. It'll also teach you how to think better, which Jordan Peterson believes is the most valuable skill a person can have.
You are welcome Kyle, Thanks for leaving a comment!
Netflix has nothing close to this content, to go binged 🔥👍.
Man, I appreciate your efforts.
We’ve been taught to believe selfishness, anger, and bias are bad things, but often they’re very helpful !

This is the most enlightening explanation of human nature I have come across.
I might just be delusional myself!!! )
“Most significant tell of character come from Actions overtime”
I have watched many videos across the Internet. But this one is by far the greatest. It just works!!!
Knowing the lesson vs learning the lesson.
Repression leads to depression deprivation leads to depravity😢😅😂
I hate that it took me over a decade to fine tune myself to these laws. It’s a real coming to terms when you realize that you’re what the book says to avoid. Awareness is everything. Too bad I read this book at the end of my journey. Although, life has been beyond amazing with these concepts implemented. Stay true to yourself! It’ll be worth it in the end 😎

One of the most educational videos ever made. Why schools
Don’t teach this.
I'll say this again, what did you really learn in school? Learning things like these would mean that most students would start to see the bullshit personalities of teachers amd simply walk out if class! Knowledge is power and the governed school system wants us powerless!
Because the people in power would not have power.

"Transform self-love into empathy"
Empathy for our selves, especially our inner child, is what allows us to have more empathy for others, and its usually with support from others that helps make our big dreams come true
