my only problem with this is that it goes into anxiety fears that people tempt themselves to better than that only to be worse with everything else they do as they "seem cool". also, some things can seem like you have adhd if you follow such things. im not disregarding, just saying its all nothing to blame. its human nature that we are going over so there is that

I listened to this while taking a bath this evening and there were a lot of things I really needed to hear. There is a project I have been wanting to finally start for a while now but it has been feeling like a big risk and I have grown scared at the thought of taking the leap. Listening to the part about the comfort zone and how trying new things and failing shows that you are at least trying to do something with your life instead of being okay with remaining complacent really resonated with me. Thank you for this I believe it was the kick in the butt that I needed

    1. Idea: Choose what is worth your time/effort (what to care about)
Ex. Like a currency/battery that gets depleted each time u care
    2. Embracing highs and lows (you learn the most from tough situations - it is an opportunity)
Ex. What does not kill you makes you stronger
    3. There is no need to pursue perfection (measure doing/being good based on ur own standards/goals)
Ex. Enjoy all successes - even the small ones
    4. Suffer is a transformative experience (you grow after overcoming it)
Ex. Motivates you to take an action/step to avoid/stop the suffering or builds resilience if you know that suffering is part of the process + gives value to the things you want to achieve/get (bcs the more u need to suffer for smthg the more likely it is to be important/rare)
    5. Taking responsibility (if it is within ur control -> own it, otherwise be pro-active instead of reactive)
Ex. Be responsible for your own happiness and setting values and meaning to ur life.
    6. Embrace uncertainty as a growth opportunity (step outside ur comfort zone)
Ex. Expand your circle of growth while focusing on what u can control.
    7. Importance of failure:
    - getting u closer to learning/moving forward.
    - evidence that you are working hard and not staying on the safe side
    8. Say no if you need to set boundaries to make sure you can achieve what you want (spend more time with your loved ones, enjoying time, hobbies...)
You can say no to everyone and it will not be perceived as being rude, as long as you are honest, and clear.
    9.

This is exactly what I needed. I have suffered my entire life with other's opinions of me. Perfection and excellence have been my goals. This, of course, has it's foundation in fear-fear of rejection, reputation, disapproval. This segment presents the content in a format that addresses my learning style. It has opened my mind and has changed my thinking in ways that years of therapy has not. Thank you!

I recently got a job in sales. To my knowledge i detest sales, i thought i was no good. Even tho i have been in and out of jobs for the past year i cried because i thought i would also fail at this and further prove to myself that im unable to keep a job.
Well its been 2 months and my numbers started off really bad but ive been progressively increasing my numbers and also my confidence. I had to face my fear of rejection and challenge myself to be more witty. I still every now and then feel like im going to fall flat on my face but everyday i have been winning and it proves that anything u consistently do u will get better at it.

failure is not a step backwards but a step forwards, couldn't have been better said. we're often shamed for failure without realising we're learning more about what eventually can become more successful. and death is a motivation for living, watching my grandparents die last year from dementia really makes you think about what you ultimately care about and really puts a reality check on your life.

Death as a motivator to live more and take into consideration what really matters makes so much sense and I can attest to that because one time, I lay on my sick bed unable to do anything on my own and it made me think of how often sometimes we take for granted our abilities to complete simple tasks and how much my life matters I can say that sometimes we need setbacks to motivate us to appreciate who we are and what we stand for. Loved the video.

The bar for getting unbroke is extremely low. Pick a valuable skill and learn it. Stay consistent. Eliminate any debilitating vices (drugs, alcohol, poor fitness, ext.). Track and learn to manage your spending. I wouldn't focus on "becoming rich", you can do that later if you want, just try and stop the bleeding and go from there.

Take small steps then. It doesnt matter how fast you move, as long as you are moving. Social skills can be lost and rebuilt. You can exercise your social skills in small dosages. Ex. Small talk with the cashiere, go to a 1-2 hour sport or class/course. Find something other than you and the person you are talking to, to talk about through an activity, it takes a lot of the social pressure off

Maybe you can turn your indoor-hobbies into something outdoors. For example if you like arts and crafts then take a course in it or sit outside and draw strangers... you don't necessarily need to interact with everyone for hours, but you could hand out your drawings to make their day (:

How come 700k+ views and 26k+ likes but just 228 comments? Have people predominantly listened as a podcast? What do these stats do to the algorithm? I loved it. My experience of the most successful people is those who are best at deciding what they should give energy to and not, getting others to do the rest or just letting those tasks slide. Without putting others off. And not getting anxious with any of that. Unfortunately not me.

yh once I reached a certain age I thought myself to not give a fuck and oh boy life has been better. The struggles are still there, but the change on how you view them helps shield you from their 'draining power' (for lack of a better term). This doesn't mean I let any issues fester and not try to improve upon them but not let the failures define you - just shrug it off and retry when you get the strength to.

Failure should never stop you, it's simply a harsh lesson about being prepared. Each time you get knocked down it's 'cos you weren't ready for the blows coming in, next time you'll know and you'll hopefully dodge and duck. When something fails, take the postiive lessons your learned and leave the negative parts beind.

    TRIGGER WARNING: SLF HRM
This is the book my brothers therapist printed out for him while he was struggling. She gave him a few chapters and told him to read it. Said he needed to wait a few weeks to see if he would get through it without his meds. Two weeks later he kicked the bucket. Turns my stomach every time I see it. Hope the Author knows it's being used as treatment for the mentally ill...seemingly in place of meds!!! RIP AROD

"The right moment is... now" 👌
"When someone gets mad when you set your boundaries, it means they were taking advantage of you not having any."
While it is true 99% of the time, that 1% would be when the person is upset why weren't you free enough to tell them this before or something like that. Differentiating "use and throw" types and "caring" types is also important.

Taking real responsibility is recognizing that it is always your fault because you placed yourself in the position that it could happen!

It sounds like you are saying that whatever happens to you in life is always your fault because you placed yourself in that position, and that recognizing this is the way to take real responsibility for yourself. Would this be true?
I'm taking a different direction. I'm studying Inner Relationship Focusing, which is taught at Focusing Resources. It is about emotional healing and has been helpful to me. Best wishes to you.

Yes you understood my words correctly,I am all about the inner works too ,face all the pain of the past , present and imaging future pain only then you can appreciate the health you have got today and fight (ever day battle) to increase it.i use the pain as fuel it is so powerful.
You need to love yourself so much that you placing yourself first, because only you know how brilliant, loving and unique you really are (at the same time common)

@@BootlegEL I hear that you are facing your pain over the years, and even your potential future pain, and are using that as powerful fuel that helps you to appreciate your health and fight an every day battle to increase it.
