I used to build custom subwoofers for a company here in Mesa AZ. The most difficult part was always laying the adhesives without making a mess of things. Especially the dust cap. Otherwise, even centering the VC and soldering was straight forward....
You can use a iPad glass remover to spread the glue in between the cone and spider unless you like the rounded end of the hook tool. You could always round it out though

I have reconned 2 W7 13.5 parts are expensive each time spent around 280 In parts they are not hard to recone but expensive due to coil size 3.5 inch and spider size which if I remember correctly was 10 inch with 3.5 opening..U pay more for the odd size ...With my personal W7 I tore it down And put a 18" Skar basket on it and used all RE soft parts that I cut out for the 3.5 coil size

The soft parts I use a 2400 viscosity rubberized CA glue from Palm Labs Adhesives, the surround to basket and dustcap to cone I use very specifically black E6000.
Have watched a few of your builds. Def a talented tech who knows his equipment. But, it would be nice to see what you’re doing without the view being blocked. Can I humbly suggest a second camera at higher position, a bit to the right, to see the work space from above 👊🏻
nice vid. It would be sweet if you could move the camera so we can see when you do the soldering and glue on the voice coil after you get everything lined up. I think you've missed the point of WHY we won't recone W7's. Parts aren't available, and when they were they were a pain to do anyway. I've been trying to get back to VINwiki for a while now, our schedules haven't lined up when I'm in Atlanta but I've got 5 or 6 stories on deck!

Powerbass once upon a time was pawerbase back when the captain had the biz . under powerbase xs 15 was a woofer be for its time . any who I had it converted to a 12 duel 2 ohm flat wound coil 4 layer trip flat leads to 4g leads. It. Got about 3 weeks play time . I was trying to make up 3 inches with gain and clipped it till it slinkied .

Got the same basket but with a crossfire xs series magnet and with a 2000w rms 4 inch crossfire xs voice coil and on my side it is 38mm from the end inside the magnet!!

Magnets are part of a motor. The steel on top, bottom, and pole aren't magnets, and when you put all of those together (and technically once the coil is in the gap) it becomes a motor.

Don’t do a drop in. Coil has to be set perfectly in the magnet and a drop in won’t fit perfectly

How come the motor magnet did not move the basket because of the magnet field was it denergised

Why do you have to change the basket on the type r's?
Both coil terminals are on the same side and there is a plastic spacer you have to grind down to get the old spider off, which is a pain to get right.

Nope, coil availability is limited. Every size uses a different coil and I think the only one I could find a coil for years ago was the 13".

You should always step up sizes when drilling metal.
