I would love to hear and see how it performs when completed.
i watched this whole video in hopes of seeing it perform
@@greenmassiah1774it doesn't? Thanks for saving me the time
You had me at Team 10"...naw really... I put my drink down and was glued to the screen!
This is a very nice walk through of the building process, it is also the same process used to RE-CONE a driver, with the exception of the tear down, clean and component assessment phases used in getting an old basket ready for re-use, and determining if ANY of the other components can be re-used.
Thanks for the video!
thats a nother level ...
waiting for the test video tho!
Ya somos 2 los que estamos esperando la prueba. Jejeje.
I only subscribe just to see the test video

***shattered dreams***
I was really hoping it would've been included given the suspense.
Rockville Audio reading glasses on *intensely* taking notes.😂😂🤓🤓🤓
Hopefully.
It's not that Rockville are stupid. They deliberately produce low quality products because there's a demand for them. The market has spoken - it wants massive, powerful *looking* speakers at low prices that reproduce audio in a way that fits the circumstances of the individuals most likely to purchase them.
They know that most people who buy speakers have mediocre taste in music, and play low bitrate ripped MP3s at inappropriate volumes in inappropriate places. Something like Rockville is just the ticket for that sort of application.
Any band or artist who takes themselves seriously would buy something better than the cheapest option available.
i hate how right you are. but im in high school so i will continue to be innapropriate. we can only hope i mature @@hemipemi
That was cool, never seen one hand built before. Thank for sharing that.
For real, this video gave me a much better understanding of how they work, and made me regret throwing out a few "blown" speakers!!!
Thank you for taking the time to educate me on rebuilding a subwoofer. Very informative.
This is absolutely one of the coolest videos I have ever seen, I would love to build my own subs, especially big 10" ones like these in the video.
To cut the former with the cone attached more cleanly, use a dremel with a small cutting disk working it from the inside.
This is exactly what i was thinking
*with the router attachment. Automatically squares the cut
Using a dremmel will create alot of dust that could drop into the magnet and cause problems. A sharp blade doesn't create all that dust.
@@c31979839 you wouldn't cut it while it's in the assembly, you would cut it and THEN drop it in to glue it
Yeah, looks like he used a pair of tin snips with a blindfold on... Just saying, comon man! All that expensive equipment and time and then you butchered that step
This is nice. I just built a 21" subwoofer. Super fun stuff.
Very very nice!!! You make it look easy!!! I finally got a chance to hear some 15” banhammers and wow they are amazing he had 4 15”s in a 4th shook everything around it!!!!
have you heard 8 15s on 48000w in a fiat punto? i have and its amazing
Wow what a monster of a sub this is. That magnet is out of this world.
I checked your math... Half of 50mm is in fact 25mm. Continue on.
Funny thing about math, even if you don't like the result, it's still the result.
My guy
Ha... you just Zuckerberg'd EMF Audio.
@@RadRidesByCru lmao
@Brian Waller are you slow
I have not reconned a sub from scratch in like 12 years so was awesome to see this. I did do a drop in kit on my Audioque sub before they changed to Soundqubed. Awesome video.
That thing is madness. Good work man.
From a Tech 2 a Tech, Very well detailed, designed, executed.. Great job!!!! (Once a fan always a fan)
Great seeing you answer all the questions you were asked in comments...that earned my sub. Cool video too very informative
Love the "But it helps" cameo
You've got talent bro.
So much effort to create one driver, and all the major components are already built. No wonder speakers are priced how they are.
🕷️SPIDER MIKE
That thing looks crazy, great video man
super stoked to see someone else using a rasping bit for audio thought i was only one
Skills to pay the bills.
Man that's a sick subwoofer
The" not a me problem "is the best problem to have lmao
Lol I was thinking the same thing! Love the Sherlock fan art avatar!
@@Zapdos6996 honestly don't remember where I found it lmao💀
You mean not to have. Cause it’s not your problem lolol
@@toXic_viRus01 X xss
Great video! I love the information about car audio. You earned that subscription.
That magnet is E X T R A T H I C C ! !
Holy Christ the basket to magnet ratio is out of this world
Trinis and our bass 🖤 it
Iam wondering who is the owner of those monsters... iam from bago by the way
Me too, would love to check out the build/install and experience the bass
This brings back memories of building sub out of two different sub Mitch matching brand and hand winding voice coils only to figure out super glue doesn't work well with heat this was 6 years before you tube now I've brought back speakers and subs and have been successful but that was to get by back then thanks for the trip down memory lane man
yo dawg we heard you like clamps so we put clamps on your clamps so you can clamp while you clamp
On clamps
Clamp up
This one time.... in band CLAMP.....

A cool..,..Mad scientist at work here. You are blessed with a gift. Keep being you a talented Man. I have seen some of your Subwoofers on some UA-cam videos, with some High SPL Numbers. 🔊🔊✌️❤️
24:38 I'M A BEAUTIFUL FLOWER
That's nice. Can't wait to hear it.
Excellent build video....im building my first sub now and wasnt exactly sure best method of lead wire to voice coil attatching. Now im sure!!! Thanx for this video. Tech Tuesday is great!
Talk about extended pole! Back in the day, kicker had on the box, extended pole, and bumped back plate, I wonder if they could ever imagined this!!
Since you build speakers it would seem to make sense to have some rings to put on the surrounds for glueing rather than having to use dozens of clamps. I'm not a speaker guy, just something that popped into my mind when I saw you putting all those clamps on.
Very cool video, interesting to see how it all comes together.
That's something I'd considered making, but ideally they'd be made from aluminum and it wouldn't be a simple ring, there would be some additional work to make them fit how I'd want them to and that means cutting down a big piece of billet. They'd be quite expensive, with multiples of them, in 3 different varieties per size for each basket we use. So to have enough for 2 subs at a time it would be 18 of them.
And then how many times would over adhesive get stuck to that large flat clamp ring vs small plastic areas
@@jimbobdobbs1597 You could spray it with silicone lube or other release agent, or simply install the gasket then put the ring over that.
Very thorough and detailed with what your doing. I will stay tuned. Good job man
I guess this can only be reverse mounted :P The driver is bigger than the cone, awesome!
Or in a 4th order box
you made this look easy and not as fragile as one would think, thanks for the video, will be waiting for a test on this completed sub
Great job boss!
👍🏻😎👍🏻
That’s a very tedious build, but that is speaker repair, building in this case! What a motor. It looks massive. I expect great things from this guy when he tests out. Good video. Bring on the test!👍🏻
Your video with tavarsh is AWSOME
Good job with all the best information and knowledge
That's insane
I would have thought there was a lot more precision in this kind of assembly, lol, guess not ^^ crazy combo!
I'm lost for words! 1st time seeing a team 10 lol. Looks great I bet it has nice output as well. E6000 FTW yeah that is some great stuff. Wish me luck too this season, I have to try to to give a friend a run for his money. He is running 2 Sundown nightshade NSv3 12's on a 20K. Beautiful/Beast set up, almost mid 50's, I have some work to do.. PS Keep up the great stuff - Peace and Bass.
That was really cool! I wanted to see the bench test....
Post it online and label it as a 12 or 15 inch woofer. Confuse the hell outta people with the magnet bigger that the cone.
that going to do some serious damage to vehicle panels love it great video
This was a very good informative video my dude good job !
You're doing God's work, sir. Bless you.
What a top vid thanks man keep up the work I love the vids God bless 😉😊😊😊
He be like you deserve more credit more views more subscribers because you're getting deep with it. All these other guys lollygag While there is the real technical professionals doing real things like yourself. Props.
Give em the clamps!
Great video
THis is awesome I've never seen this before. New sub lol time to learn
Right on!! The only thing I would have done was trim up the inside of that Bad Boy that you weren't able to do after you assembled it.
Other than that I really can't wait to hear that 10" Go To Town!!
fine Work!
Give em the clamps!
Good video love that 10in woofer
Let us see it dance or I'll clamp ya! Clamp clamp you get the clamps! Jk awesome sub great job!
Yooou trrraffic warden :-)
I👍
First time here ... Thats a beautiful thing man !
"you don't have to do it, but it help's" LMFAO
7 sheets of 8 1/2 x 11 20lb paper to be precise... great vid!
Instead of all those clamps just cut c-style plates and use two clamps per plate in three sections sizes you"ll only need 6 clamps
I've found using a rasp on the spider like he does helps make a stronger joint for me too. The glue really holds the few loose threads better than a clean cut.
How much would you charge for one like that
You should make a 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch mdf ring to sandwich the surround on, instead of all the clamps. Thats been my go to solution. Has been working well for me for a long time. I made a couple varying inner diameter sized mdf rings. And i use quick lock bolts, with the 8 mounting holes, i find the pressure is plenty and distributed equally. I find the clamps even though they have rubber sleeves over the tips, they tend to make indentations on the surround, especially the rubber foam surrounds. Just a tid bit info. And solid instructional video 👌
Make a 3" woofer with 4"coil lol
6 inch coil
You alright bruh
Hey Boss. You could have cut the tube with a plumbing inside cutter. Its just a circular blade that goes inside your drill. Just a tip I'd thought I could. Throw out there. Its really easy to get the hang of using a inside cutter you could also throw it up in a drill press and with that little turn table you got you could have made a perfect cut. Not sure if you have a drill press or not. But I find them all the time on facebook local markets. Or your local thrifty nickel. I recommend going with a good brand regardless of how ugly it looks. Over buying a brand new Harbor Freight one. Or a cheap one off brand from home depot or Lowe's
I built an 18" 10"subwoofer
This looks like a lot of fun!!!!
Hey bro how can I work for you I want to learn how build subs. This video was helpful.
he only hires people who show up go knock on his door and ask in person, it shows initiative. Bring a camera and tell him your good at youtube aswell. Post the video whje your hired
Wow!! Really enjoyed watching this mod/video. Thanks for posting.
Lol I'm gonna guess that might be mounted inverted.
ROTTBOXX 1980 inverted or with a custom plate
ROTTBOXX 1980 ua-cam.com/video/oOwB83WnDYg/v-deo.html
These are tantrics shd like mine but in a 10" basket and soft parts with mounting plates... The motors are 100 pounds each
I was thinking about that as well. Maybe cut a piece of MDF in half then glue it together, then double baffle it cut the opposite way.
jacob p yes sir that is a very very good idea too and will work... I jist subbbed can you sub back im under construction but building very soon
Mann that's amazing I have 3 15inch Zv5s and I've been wanting to have them re built.
Some bozo told me I couldn't cut a spider. Looks like everything turned out fine here. It's not like the spider is gonna unravel or disintegrate.
Especially being it is glued on the edges are locked down if it was loose it could cause a problem but this would be fine
That thing is bad ass!
Biggest 10"
A kilogram of nails and
A kilogram of feathers
Which is heavier?
10" is just the diameter, "biggest" refers to the overall size of the sub (frame and motor size)
Old trick question. The nails are heavier because they displace less air.
Same coz they are both a kilo.
How would you put it in a box? the magnet seems to have a larger circumference than the basket.
Always make sure to use more clamps than a bdsm video on pornhub!!! Great build vid thx
This is awesome. This 10 has GPT to SLAM with some decent power going to it. This almost reminds me of a scaled up version of the B2 6" sub. Awesome work my man!
This is cool and all, but I see no level of precision here. Just eyeing everything up? No measurements?
I very specifically showed measurements, and did math, watch it again. As far as the cone cut out goes, it's as precise as it needs to be. Realistically it could be 1/8" off and still be fine, I know it's within 1/16" "eyeballing it". If you're triggered by that, don't go measuring walls, floors, or ceilings in your house.
@@EMFAudio Lol true that
@@EMFAudio the cone was cut a lot more then 1/16" off center in the video.
@@bososz Exactly how much was it then? I don't recall you being there to measure it.
@@EMFAudio just gotta watch the video, pretty clear the new hole wasnt centered very well.
I think you did an awesome job keep rocking my brother
I kinda wanna see what this would like like as an 8", just to see how stupid it'd look
I feel i got 2 8" Boston g2 in my hatchback great space saver and sounds amazing but this as an 8" is kinda ridicules I'd lose it
It would be useless. There would be no spider left, therefore it would be a paperweight. It would have no suspension, and basically no mechanical movement, and would essentially rip the spider out among other issues.
My trick in remembering the polarity is the alphabet.-n comes before +p when the sub is upside down.
Why??
Because he can!
Customer :
I want you to build me an 8-in woofer with a 15-inch wide magnet. Why?
Bigger speakers don't necessarily sound better, in many cases.
Great video!! You had me all the way up to the missing test portion... wah wah :)
Maybe you should hit subscribe and the notification bell for later....
Nicely made up
I like to grab a stack of coffee filters and a bottle of rubbing alcohol. Use a new filter each wipe and keep going until it is clean👍
Watched the hole video. Subcribed
Before putting on the dust cap you forgot to tell everybody that you need to pull out the shim are the seven sheets of paper
That's been mentioned in comments, a lot.
