This answers all the questions i ever had, you teach a lot, all the little hints overtime, have a great day! Keep it up, some lessons are learned rough!
The coil and soft parts you sent me with the 6 gonzo jr motors worked out great for my 15s. Fs 26, vas 2.4ft³. Had them going in a 6th order but figured out that they would play better in a 4th so changed the box and damn. Made a huge difference. These subs are getting down. Have 6 of them on 3 4500 watt amps in a b pillar 4th order wall. I just need bigger amps bc they can definitely handle more. Also 192ah of headway for power. Thanks for helping with this awesome equipment man.
This is one of the most informative videos I've seen you do in a while. I appreciate the details about how the electro-mechanical effects effect the T/S parameters and real life performances.
How come there's not aluminum around the outside of the coil so it can't turn to spegetti mess getting hot before the magnet wire glue is set and help it cool. Heard of a gauss meter to test magnet strength. Seems like fiberglass cloth works with gorilla glue instead of the rezon for cone making. Think the imax low frequency drivers enclosure are tuned 24 htz seen something about the resonant frequency of space sound is played in.
So at the end the reference to the wolfram sub. Is there any benefit to sound reproduction by limiting travel on a massive motor and suspension combo like that?
I ended up watching quite a few of this style video and I'm really taking in a lot of information, but something I struggle to find online is how do you determine the ideal box size and tuning frequency? WinISD and figure out what graph works the best? Trial and error to find what sounds best?
@@RobotUnderground right, but i was thinking because you might be limited from silver's weight vs copper but wondering what the higher electrical conductivity would do... but i also dont know how silver's magnetic properties are

So would you say aluminum coils have more cons than pros and do you prefer copper coils over aluminum ones? Just recently purchased an ampere audio Rev 3.0 V4 15 inch to run in a 3.5 cubed ported box on a bc6k at 1 ohm. I wanted to try these subs out because there’s not a lot of info and videos on these subs so I was very curious about them.
No it just is sometimes difficult to find really soft spiders with leads for aluminum coils. When you're designing a woofer though and you can have any parts you want you do all that research ahead of time so it works out for you if you're an OEM. If you're someone like me you have to deal with what's available in the market and that's not a lot considering that this industry is not aftermarket friendly. People think I don't like Lord of bass but George has given me a huge index to access that I could not afford on my own

Only to extract a tiny bit more value from the customer and into your pocket if you are Wolfram/Collin

Copper is so much better at staying cooler and dissipating heat then aluminum I think it will always be best. Just pay for proper spiders etc

EMF? No.
Ported boxes suck. Using the existing backwave isn't exactly cheating though!?
need to get rid of magnets and use 2 coils against themselves
