- I am reviewing my very first motorcycle and first harley davidson after riding it for 1000km! This is the 2020 Harley Davidson Sportster Iron 883 Motorcycle Review and ride (XL883N). As a new rider who wanted a cruiser motorcycle, I compared it to the Indian Scout, Honda Rebel 500, and Yamaha Bolt but in the end I chose to go with the Iron 883 but not for the reasons you would think!
2020 Harley Iron 883 Review from a new rider to give you an honest opinion of the sportster motorcycle. See the full review to find out why and also head over to my more recent videos where I review the Harley Sportster 1200 series Forty Eight and Roadster.
This Iron 883 is the same as any Iron 883 made between the era of 2016 to 2021 Iron 883.

Hope you all enjoyed my video! I planned on this review for a long time and wanted to provide some info that don't get mentioned frequently from other online reviews. Thanks for watching!
The bikes sounds great!
Can’t beat the classic look of the 883.
When you park your bike and walk away, if you don’t turn back to look at it at least once, you bought the wrong bike 👍🏻
Solid review.
So true!
Awesome review!
Well done and very informative.
Thanks Ross! Glad to hear that from another sportster owner ;)
Nice honest review.. well done bro 👍👍👍
thanks for the feedback!! Will try on developing better content onwards
KS Moto, myself being a first time biker, I'm 5'9" tall/250lbs/age 57. I'm looking at the 883 for my first motorcycle. You brought out all the points I have to consider in getting the right bike. You've just gotten major points for helping a "fellow" newb! I'm glad I found you when I did! I wrote down all the mods you recommended for consideration. Doug👍🏍️⭐⭐⭐🤓
Hey glad I could help! A lot had happened since this review - so be sure to watch some of my "first experience" and year 1 & year 2 iron 883 reviews!
Your 2 reviews are why I needed to respond to your video presentation. I wrote down all 5 mods because are right up my need for an excellent experience on the motorized 2 wheels.🏍️😁🤓⭐⭐⭐👍 Doug
I love the downtown cruise loop! Still haven't done it on my sporty. I do the Langford cruise loop from time to time.
Love the review and comments on your experience and choices. Definitely gives a lot of perspective for new buyers.
Which sporty did you choose to ride?
@@KSMotoCafe I'm getting back into riding after a 20 year break. I've decided to buy a used 2003 xl1200c to get back into it without breaking the bank.... plus, Steeve had nothing in-stock at the time I was looking and I didn't want to wait.
@@joellaurin9007 20 year break - wow! great choice with your comeback bike. Custom has a bigger gas tank too right?
@@KSMotoCafe I think it's the same size as yours. 3.3 Gallons?
In all honesty I wanted an older 883 for insurance purposes. But used prices were sky high and I got this bike for a really good price. Bonus, it was in pristine condition with 37k kms
@@joellaurin9007 ah ok - looks like it was after 2004 when the 1200C had 4.4G tanks.
Just bought a new Harley Davidson 883 2020 yesterday. I got it because it looks bad ass and I wanted it with 0 down. Love my 883
Thomas, you are going to love it! I am about to do an update owner's review after 3000km of riding that might interest you. There were some days of when I wished I had a bigger bike (mostly because I decided to get my feet wet with other motorcycles to review for the channel); but I am now back on loving my 883 because the ride is so unique compared to other motorcycles! Hope you spend the time to watch some of my newer content and enjoy your 883!
6’4”, 260, have Road King Special and 2020 883! Love riding my 883 in mountains and around town. Put stage 1 on, plenty of power! Of course , 2021 RKS is for long trips . Great advice u give , buy what you like, not what others tell you ! Comes down to this, JUST RIDE! No better therapy or activity in the world!! IMO!!
Did you end up putting on fwd controls on your iron?? Road King Specials are such beautiful bikes!!!

Not yet. That’s probably coming with change in handlebars tho! I also have a Slim, kinda, son took it home😂 I’m told regularly I’m to big for the 883, and even the slim , both handle great! I’m an athletic 260, don’t know if it makes a difference, but handle great!
@@jeffdriggs2895 athletic 260 definitely makes a difference in terms of looks! Hell if you are comfortable on it - that is awesome! Do you have instagram? You peaked my curiosity of what a 6'4" person looks like on an 883 with mid controls
I do not, but my daughters and son does. I’ll get you a pic as soon as I can. 😂😂
great informations
i walked in the dealership just to look around next thing you know i was out the door with a 883
that's how they get you! Got me too.. did this whole parading around the dealership making me feel like someone important. they sure know how to sell haha
@@KSMotoCafe you ain’t lying at all brother
I wasn’t ready to get a bike went there just to look later got the bike took the riding course from them as well..
Great video
thank you
I just bought the 2021 iron 883 and it has the evo v twin air cooled engine.
yeah I misjudged by a year! but soon the evo is ending so good on you grabbing the 883! I love mine so much :) but if you watch my later episodes when I do the review of the 1200s... I start to get that taste of power.
i like those bags saddle bags
where did you get them?
amazon! it's called Dowco Willie and Max Swingarm bag. Just make sure you get the correct side.
@@KSMotoCafe thank you 🙏🏿
Looked at one today was worried I was gonna be too big for it I’m 6ft 220lbs
Nice review. Where is this? AB? BC?
BC my friend! I got more details on my insta ;)
Insurance agent: Any modifications to your 883?
*bores out 883 to a 1250* - Absolutely not
Lol but really though, good thorough explanation for why you chose your bike 🤙🏽
lol the dealership was trying to convince me to get the 1200kit with that line. But they also quoted $4000
@@KSMotoCafe I give it 6 months before you’re tearing into that engine hahah. Maybe a build series 🤔
clutch is too hard. went with Rebel slipper clutch
Awesome review!
Thanks brother! Any leaks about Sportster replacements in India?
@@KSMotoCafeYou are welcome. They haven't disclosed anything yet. Looks like the Sportster series will be sold across India until 2021. They have already tuned the engine to match the Indian environment norms.
