As I understand some Euro commercial engines, Including Peugot used the 3.2 P5 and were fitted originally with constant flow oil pump not the variable pump as in the Ranger , fitted in a attempt to reduce parasitic losses for improved fuel consumption, the trade off less reliability, some early pumps were short lived and the 10 minute oil change is potentially lethal to engine if not restarted in time.
These pumps are available from accessory suppliers on Australian E Bay for around A400.00
I have just fitted a gear type oil pump to my 3.2 ranger. The pump has straight cut gears and is very noisy like a supercharger when the engine is revving. Is this normal with this type of pump?
Haynes manual says engine needs to be removed to change oil pump but this video shows it being done in situ. Does the engine need to be raised or any other parts removed in order to do this without removing the engine? This question relates to a 4WD truck

The Hi Riders have no front axle making sump removal easier, looks in this video that they've dropped an axle on a 4 x 4 Ranger to allow sump removal, one UK video shoes slicing out the welds on cross member and removing, requiring reweldving after install.
There is a hole where a feed pipe from the pump is eliminated that requires a bolt to be screwed in to eliminate loss of oil pressure when this constant flow pump is installed, most important!
The oil sump pan can not be removed without removing the steering rack. Why not show that?

Hi, does this oil pump prime by itself if you drian it too long or is it same procedure as before?
No, it does not prime itself...Drain oil and add new oil within 8-10 minutes...

@@hondatrix The new gear upgarde fix's the issue. No more having a 8-10 min oil issue. Can take as long as you like.

@@xtdman345 mate I ended up swapping the motor becuase it dropped a cylinder
