- A 103% complete gameplay walkthrough for Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! on the SNES. This video shows the locations for all KONG letters, how to complete all bonus rooms, all bear quests, DK Coins and the best ending.
Note: This was originally intended to be a 105% walkthrough. 105% Can only be obtained by entering "TUFST" in the cheat codes menu, however I entered it as the file name instead. I somehow didn't realize my mistake until I completed the game, at which point I didn't feel like re-doing it.
The only thing that changes in a 105% run is that there are no level checkpoints, and fewer DK barrels. This wouldn't have been a problem as I never died within levels, and rarely got hit.
105% doesn't offer anything else. The best ending can be gotten with 103%. The only thing you gain is having 105% on your file instead of 103%. That is all.

I used to play this with my grandpa who died 2 years ago. When I suddenly remembered this game, heard the music and saw the gameplay it took me back to when we used to play together. Nostalgic and sad at the same time.. It was a great game in my childhood, when we didn't have much more to play

Same as far back as I can remember this was one of the first games i ever played I use to play this with my gram and grandpa this and duck hunt I cherish those moments so much video games home so many good memories from Certain periods of your life . Now my gram passed away 2013 and grandpa is still around but very old but any time I see gameplay of this or hear the theme it always gives me a weird kind of nostalgia I can't explain

I used to play this game with my nana all weekend growing up. She was like a normal nana but loved Donkey Kong and Mario 🤣 Brought us up playing on the game. I love this game. Makes me really miss her. Think we completed it about 20 times

The waterfall stages were the most beautiful stages in the game for sure.
Big tip: when water skipping such as at 34:30 remember to HOLD DOWN the Y button

spent 4 day to watch all of ur 103% progress , WP sir ! iwhen i was children , i never made this far than number 1 island . We kiddo only can hire 40 - 1 hours / 1 snes in our neighborhood to pick our favorite game. Yet this DK 3 still one of the most !

Thank you man. I’ve completed this game and got all the letters (except that rocket level with G), DK coins and banana birds. And now I’ve completed all 3 DKC games. 101%, 102% and 103% each.
The visuals and arcade nature hold up well today actually 👍
Such a wonderful nostalgia trip. DK2 finally came out on the switch and i beat it. Havent played that since the SNES. Now I'm waiting for this one to release :D

I still play this game on my snes :) I’m 13 but I used to play it when I was 4. One of my favorite games on the console and in the dkc franchise.
Just another thing I would like to mention. I hope that Nintendo would consider doing DKC1, DKC2 and DKC3 on Steam for the PC. That could open up a new market for Nintendo.

Wanted a DKC remix where you can choose 2 of 3: Diddy / Dixie / Donkey (not the bib ape), that makes use of material from all 3 games and does a better job. Fewer mini games. The best music from the 3. Less circusy themed.

I would be not surprised if kiddy kong was insprired from baby mario in yoshi’s island , because just like baby mario mario,he cries once he get’s hit,
Or rare could,ve took inspiration from DKjr in wich baby donkeykong has to save his kidnapped father from mario,
But whether rare took their inspiration from, it doesn’t make the game feel any better and it doesn’t add value to it.

Why was the Boss and normal enemy Design so bad? In my oppinion ddks Quest 2 got best Boss and enemy Design.
Though i agree a wee bit, you gotta say dkc1 bosses are the blandest of any game, just giant versions of normal enemies, even a freaking metal barrel.

This Donkey Kong game feels like it has way too many bonus games. It slows the game down.
Why did you type your name TUFST?
Here is what I have found:
TUFST
=> If entered before continuing a saved game, all halfway barrels will be removed and replaced by a banana bunch. The effect will be temporary.
=> If entered before starting a new game, all halfway barrels will be removed and replaced by a banana bunch AND all DK barrels except 4 of them (for the locations of those 4 barrels, see below) will be removed.
The effects will be permanent. After the whole game completion, the score will be 105% instead of 103% (the 104th and 105th percents are added in the same time as the 103rd one when you visit the mama bird with all 15 banana birds).

If you like the Donkey Kong Country games, you should look up a fan game called "Donkey Kong Country: The Trilogy"
When it came out in 1996, I received it as a Christmas gift towards the end of that year. I remember seeing it in a store (a random one which I do not recall now) and wanted it, but my mum said 'no, it's your present, you will get it soon', which did not arrive until after Christmas (she said it to shut me up).
As a got it, I completed it without paying much attention to the secrets. I was only 9 at the time, and didn't really understand/cared about it. It took me 3ish days, so by the 30th-31st Dec it was done. However, I started finding some Banana Birds, and reading the booklet (no internet at the time), I commenced looking into completing the game 100% (or I would say, 103%). Eventually I managed in February 1997 (so just in under 2 months). Very proud of myself, one of the fewest games I completed without any help.
This makes it one of my favourite games ever. Great memories

I intend to get a super nintendo, n64, ps1 and all that and hook it up to a old school tv. I swear these games don't look as good on our high res screens, I reckon its cos the pixels are way smaller now and those games where quite pixelated. I'm gonna get a gameboy as well, people are gonna be playing games on their smartphone and I'm gonna be playing pokemon on the gameboy.

If you have the switch they have bundles for all the old games for free! If you have the Nintendo online a subscription! Like games for game boy, NES, SNES. And N64 and game boy advanced but you need to have the expansion to play those two bundles. But the other systems should be free with some select games including donkey Kong country 1-3!

@Andrew Brady whoa,whoa you still have a "Super Nintendo", I mean I thought that they stopped selling those Nintendo consoles.
By 1996, the N64 had been released but the SNES still had some life left in the console. This game is proof of it. It didn't have the same success as Donkey Kong Country 2 but for what it's worth, it's still pretty interesting. Hey at least seeing you go through this game is kind of nice.
Call me a heretic, but I think DKC3 is far better than DKC2, and really deserves more attention.
I have to agree. Also, it's the 2nd game where DK isn't playable. I think it's due to RARE being a bit bitter towards Miyamoto over the criticisms for DKC.
@@MegamanNG It's definitely because of RARE's bitterness over Miyamoto's pretty harsh criticism for the first game. RARE had a lot of little things (and not so little things) in their games influenced by events such as that. It's fine though since they came to practically dominate the N64.

Miyamoto never actually criticised DKC, nor did Rare have any bitterness towards him. The character choice in the 2nd and 3rd games were simply because Rare wanted to make a game with those characters.

This was my very first video game. The nostalgia I feel is just wow
This game has a very unique vibe. I love the interesting soft timbre of the music, and the visuals are gorgeous and aesthetically very lovely and interesting as well. Great use of vivid colors and I love the look of the world map. Very peaceful vibe. Even though this is probably my least favorite of the 3 it's still brilliant and has its own unique strengths. Definitely a fine finale to the trilogy, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Everything core thing great about the trilogy is all still here.
I've never played the old DKC games, but they look like a ton of fun.

aqui andamos casi terminando 2023, recuerdo como batallamos mi amigo rodolfo y yo para encontrar todos los barriles de bonus para obtener las monedas y sacar el final bueno. Cabe destacar que aqui en Jalisco Mexico, en aquel 1998 que tuve la SNES, regalo de mi hermano mayor que nos visito desde estados unidos, el internet no existia ni en nuestra imaginacion.

This game was not the first Donkey Kong game I ever played but it was the first one I actually owned as a kid. I played Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Country 2 through renting at a store called Game Masters. But my parents got this for me during Christmas and I loved it so much. I ended up liking it the least in the end because I love the first two more. But it's still a great game.

You can kill enemies by "rolling" forward pressing x or y.
You dont need to jump on them every time
This works on a lot of enemies even hedgehogs from the front.

The bosses here are the most unsettling things ever. Scariest bosses I’ve ever fought, nearly shat myself when I saw em for the first time when I was 5.

quando tinha 5/6 anos era meu sonho ganhar uma fita dessa de presente, mas era algo tão raro e difícil de se achar, ainda mais porque estava começando a era do playstation. Um dia meu tio pegou emprestado com um amigo que ele conhecia na rua e pude jogar um pouco! Não lembro muito bem se foi o primeiro contato com a personagem ( porque tenho lembranças de que tive a fita do dk2, mas estava com defeito kkk), mas gostei muito da jogabilidade da dixie. Enfim, quando completei 11 tive um ps2 com aquele emulador de snes, etc. e aí pude desfrutar melhor o jogo! Ótimas lembranças eu tive.
