  • Hello friends! This is our second travel vlog in Tokyo, Japan. In this vlog, you will get to see the Tokyo Imperial Palace, the street food and fresh fish at Tsukiji Fish Market, and our experience at an onsen (hotspring/bathhouse) where you get to wear a yukata, soak up, and get eating by fish!
    We spent 2 weeks in Japan so we have about 10 or so vlogs coming (1-2/week). Feel free to ask us any questions about Japan regarding travel tips, things to do, places to eat at, and how to travel on a budget! We hope our travel vlogs momentarily make you feel like you're on the trip with us. Feel free to ask us any questions regarding travel in Japan!
    Places visited in this video:
    Sunkus
    Tokyo Imperial Palace
    Tsukiji Fish Market

      I can't agree with you more. I wish we went back once more before we left because I know there's a lot more to try although I did feel like I ate the entire market that day haha! My favorite hands down was the sashimi. I never ate anything except salmon but now I'm proud to say I ate 5-6 different fish without feeling grossed out by the taste.

    Okay now I'm hungry lol yeah I'm not too much of a raw sushi eater too, but I've heard people that don't eat sushi, loves it when they go to Japan for the fresh fish lol oh man and that mochi!!!! Looks hella good. 👍🏼

    • @wkndtravelers7488
      @wkndtravelers7488  7 років тому +1

      You are correct! I am not a huge fan of raw fish and was scared to try everything other than salmon but once I took a bite, I was blown away. Mochi there was nothing like the states. So excited for you guys to go! Let us know if you guys need any tips or anything.

      wkndtravelers I bet! I can't wait to go. Yeah I was gonna ask if you guys brought a lot of luggage? So we arrive in Tokyo around 5pm on a Friday and that's rush hour right? Lol so I was thinking how are we gonna fit all our luggage into the train with a full train? Any tips? Or I've seen on a couple of vlogs that companies deliver for a small price? I'm not sure if that's accurate? That's our only concern.

    • @wkndtravelers7488
      @wkndtravelers7488  7 років тому

      Yeah! So we had two big luggage's and two huge backpacks. Its common to have some tourists on the train with lots of luggage and stuff so you will be fine (according to my native Japanese friend). They know we are foreigners so its not as bad. Regarding packed trains, usually the end carts are less packed so wait at either ends and get on. People will work around you and your luggage. Otherwise, at major train stations like the airports (and I think Tokyo station, Shinjuku, Shibuya) have luggage desks that offer to send your luggage to your hotel location for a fee. I believe it was $25 per luggage when I saw? Don't quote me on that haha. Are you planning on going to other cities like Kyoto or Osaka?

    • @sfvegasdad7949
      @sfvegasdad7949 7 років тому

      wkndtravelers ohhh okay well that makes it a little better. So we have 3 big luggages, 3 carry ons, and backpacks. Haha but will definitely gravitate towards the back! Thanks for hat tip Hopefully that won't bother anyone. So originally that was our plan to go to Osaka as well, but we don't really have time to go. We are only there for 9 days, but we will see. Did you guys do the unlimited JR pass?

    • @wkndtravelers7488
      @wkndtravelers7488  7 років тому

      Wow that's a lot along with the kid as well! I'm positive you won't be much of a burden. Everyone is nice there! Haha. Oh darn. Yeah thats not a lot of days! We thought two weeks wasn't even enough for us. We did not get the JR Pass cause we barely used the JR Line other than go to Kyoto. A lot of the trips will arrange from $2-4 and we walked a lot. I only recommend the pass if you are going to one or more major city. That's the only time its worth it.

    Hi!! I just finished watching all of your Japan vlogs and I really enjoyed it!! it made me feel very excited for my Japan trip in November (still a long way to go) haha anyways!! I was just wondering how much was the entrance fee for the onsen? and whats included in the package? :) THANK YOU! :)

    • @wkndtravelers7488
      @wkndtravelers7488  7 років тому

      Hello! Thank you for watching our vlogs and your comment! We are so excited for you! Wish we could go back soon. Let me tell ya though, time will sure fly and you will be in Japan in no time haha. The entrance fee at the onsen we went to was around $25 usd (2500 yen) for 24 hour access. This includes access to the outdoor foot baths, indoor baths (where you are unclothed), resting rooms, food court, carnival games and arcades. The only time you have to pay more is when you get fish feet therapy, massages, facials, body exfoliation and stuff like that. The entrance fee is pretty reasonable and well worth it! As you will see in our next vlog, we went again to end our last full day in Japan.

    • @kattyserrano6425

      Haha same most of the video was from my phone i was more focused on the photography and everything else there lol i went to an onsen in kyoto in the mountains and it was a completely different experience lol we didnt get yukatas =[

    • @wkndtravelers7488
      @wkndtravelers7488  7 років тому

      Yeah...if we didn't decide to vlog everything, we probably wouldn't have had footage either, even on our phones. So glad we did it! Oh snaps, thats what we wanted to do. A more natural hotspring in the middle of winter with snow all around. The place we went to is more hip and modern. Still pretty cool, felt like anime characters ahaha! But hey next time, you guys can got there.

    • @wreckfilm
      @wreckfilm 7 років тому +1

      Yeah I know what you mean, to a certain extent i do regret not doing more to record my experience, I have my phone videos which are honestly great but I mostly only have the photos which isn't as immersive as the videos would have been lol but I've never vlogged before so definitely next time. That would honestly be amazing! We took a bus from kyoto station and it was about an hour ride to the last stop up the mountain in Ohara. We probably walked another hour to the Onsen but it was so worth it. There were so many shrines and you really got a sense of how the locals really live as everyone there pretty much grew/made their own things and lived off of the land. It was really hot too so when we finally reached our destination at the bath house it was that much more rewarding and relaxing almost didn't want to leave lol you should try it. It was an amazing experience. I'd definitely like to check out Osaka or Hokkaido next time I go to take in more of the land there. The bath house you went to really looked fun seems like more of a younger crowd and probably a more energetic atmosphere like in anime lol i'll definitely put that on my list to check out the next time i go!

    • @wkndtravelers7488
      @wkndtravelers7488  7 років тому

      Phototaku Yeah' definitely vlog cause it's fun to go back on and it's more immersive like you said. Vlog for yourself, then if you want, put it on UA-cam. Holy smokes, that's a LONG walk. Hahaha. The dedication. Wow sounds awesome though, must have felt real good to soak all the stiffness away. Your trip seems really exciting and less touristy. Might have to get some tips from ya when we go again! Mag and I had some days where we vlogged less and tried to immerse ourselves into the culture to get a feel of how locals lived. It was really neat and simplistic. We loved it.

    • @wkndtravelers7488
      @wkndtravelers7488  6 років тому

      Hello! I'd say half a day would be good enough to experience the amenities they provide. If you really want to relax, you could spend a full day lounging around too. The entrance fee is $26 usd dollars and this allows you to enjoy the outdoor foot bath and gendered bath house (along with free yukata to wear). Very excited for you guys! Let us know if you have any other questions

    Which onsen did you guys go to? Do you know if they allow tattoos, since I know many places do not :(

    • @wkndtravelers7488
      @wkndtravelers7488  7 років тому

      Jackie Gilpin Hello! We went to the one in odaiba city (diver city) called Tokyo Odaiba Oedo Onsen Monogatari. Unfortunately, they do not allow tattoos. But now that I think about it, if you aren't going to go to the hotspring area where you have to be unclothed, you could get away with it maybe? As long as you can hide it with the yukata they give you, you can enjoy the foot baths and everything inside (food, games, lounges) cause they'll never know you have one, unless someone sees you changing and tells on you. Sorry you have to struggle finding an onsen. It's a stubborn rule :(
