  • Hello friends! This is our 4th travel vlog and this time, we are in KYOTO, Japan. I combined our first half day and full day in Kyoto so this vlog is longer than intended. Stay tuned for Nara (deer city)!
    Day 1
    You get to see our first experience with the shinkansen (bullet train), see beautiful snow fall, check out our new apartment, us eating legit wagyu beef (SO DELISH) and lastly, go ham at the arcade.
    Places visited:
    Kyoto Station to Osaka Station
    Chifaja (BBQ Restaurant)
    Round One (Arcade)
    Day Two:
    You will get to see us checking out an amazing grocery store, visit Arashiyama for a temple visit, check out bamboo grove, and eat some of their specialties (tofu and matcha dishes). Also, there are lots of snow in this video so enjoy it! Looks straight out of a movie scene.
    Places visited:
    Daily Qanat Izumiya (grocery store)
    Arashiyama (district we visted)
    Tully's Coffee
    Tenruji Temple
    Bamboo Grove
    Saga Tofu Ine (Tofu Restaurant)
    We spent 2 weeks in Japan so we have about 6-7 or so vlogs coming (1-2/week). Feel free to ask us any questions about Japan regarding travel tips, things to do, places to eat at, and how to travel on a budget! We hope our travel vlogs momentarily make you feel like you're on the trip with us. Feel free to ask us any questions regarding travel in Japan!

      Hello Carissa! Thanks for your comment! We are glad it helped you because that is part of our goal. We use to be a hardcore "japan vlog" viewer ourselves before we went to Japan. So vlogs basically prepped us for the trip, then we did a little research on things we wanted to eat, things to check out, stuff like that. But to be honest, once we got there, we didn't really follow our entire list. Because when you arrive, there is just so much that you end up doing this and that when you come across it. I am thinking of doing an itinerary video though to help some people out on days where they have absolutely no idea on what to do because we definitely had those days.
      Thanks for watching us. We genuinely appreciate your comment. Our goal really is to inspire others to travel and enjoy what the world has to offer. Recognition is a bonus. Thank you thank you

    • @wkndtravelers7488
      @wkndtravelers7488  7 років тому +1

      Thank you! I hope our videos hype you guys up for the trip! We bought our tickets at the train station the day we were going (30 min before departure) and opted for reserved seats cause we wanted to get the last row seats for our luggage haha. But we learned that you don't need to reserve if it's not during rush hour time. You can sit anywhere and put your luggage back there cause no one is going to steal.

      Hey! So I had this question the other day so I checked my app to look at my previous stays. Its there but its not listed anymore for some reason which sucks because this was the best place we stayed at! But I'll give you the info, maybe you can find it...On Airbnb, the apartment title was "403B near NIJO castcle calm stay" hosted by Mayumi.

      Hahaha thank you! It's incredibly obnoxious at times. The place we stayed at in Kyoto was the best place we've ever had. On Airbnb, its specifically called "403B near NIJO castcle calm stay" hosted by Mayumi. I just looked it up and the listing is no longer available though! What?! (I think its because airbnb is illegal in Japan)...

    I'm going to Japan next month and was wondering if it was worth getting the jrail pass or should I just pay as I go....staying in Tokyo but planning to go to Osaka and Kyoto for 1 day or two....any input would be helpful. Thanks

    • @wkndtravelers7488
      @wkndtravelers7488  7 років тому +1

      Hey there! That is very exciting! I definitely recommend getting the JRail pass for one reason and that is because it is either cheaper or the same price when compared to a roundtrip to Osaka/Kyoto. Our ONE way ticket to Kyoto was about 14000yen ($140 USD) and one way back to Tokyo was 17000yen ($170 USD). The prices vary depending on the train/time you pick. I can't really remember the exact cost but I do remember that the total of our roundtrip was more expensive than the price of a 7 day JR pass. Other than that, I rarely used the JR line in Tokyo or Kyoto/Osaka. Let me know if this helps!

      Hi again! Lol. So if you rarely use JR Line, what did you use to commute in Tokyo,Osaka and Kyoto? Sorry, im definitely still learning about the transportation in Japan, so im quite lost

    • @wkndtravelers7488
      @wkndtravelers7488  7 років тому

      Lol hello! We used the JR line to commute major city to major city but within the cities, we used buses and other lines. Basically whatever google maps recommended us to do haha. So in Tokyo, we used the Tokyo Metro system and the Toei Subway lines a lot and in Kyoto, we used the bus 100% of the time. Just use google maps and you will be fine. As for how to use the lines and get tickets etc., I will make a video soon or just let me know and I could explain :)

    • @syzwniras6044

      @wkndtravelers7488  7 років тому

      hadi Leonard Hello! That's a really good question. Yes we just put down the address of one of our airbnbs. We stayed at 3 different ones. But yeah, didn't seem to give any problems to the host. Just know you have to write down an address or you can't get passed the desk.

    • @silentviewer1797
      @silentviewer1797 7 років тому +1

      Japanese government seems to have a little issue with airbnb owners regarding legal matters and to avoid being questioned in the immigration, what we did was we booked a hotel and used its address on the disembarkation card. You need to cancel your booking before you fly to japan though.
