  • HELLO TOKYO!
    It's great to be back! I'm feeling pumped and excited to take on this new adventure :D Here with my mom for 5 days full days! The plan is to work during the mornings until noon, and head out for the afternoon. So it's gonna be a jam packed day errrday!
    AirBnB:
    I looked an apartment space just 10 min walk away from Shibuya station. I found it to be super convenient to get to the major stations with no/ little transferring. Highly recommend going with the AirBnB option to get the somewhat authentic feel of what it's like to live in Tokyo.
    Getting around:
    Since we arrived in the Haneda airport at 2am, metro/train services weren't available. The only option for us was to take a taxi, which was superrr expensive! But I'd definitely recommend taking the trains or the buses when traveling from the airport.
    Today's Vlog:
    First stop.. Ramen at my fav ramen shop called Ichiran in Shibuya
    Ginza window shopping (Weekend afternoons the road closes)
    Stationary shop: Itoya
    Everything Kawaii at First Avenue, Tokyo Station (Character Street)
    MOOMIN MINI SHOP!!!
    Moomin Haul :)
    P.S: Do you like my updated editing style?? Trying to go for a more hip look.. but keeping my inner need for cuteness

    • @dzunku1
      @dzunku1 8 років тому

      Itoya now has so many special papers, notebooks, pocketbooks and huge selection of fountain pens with very few other types of stationaries. In other words, they changed their selections to those destined to disappear in future in my opinion. If you are not a core traditionalist of stationary, Tokyu Hands is much more fun place to shop with tons of new and gadgetry stationaries and more.

    HelloAnn Lu,
    Stunning vlog! I am a new viewer and enjoy watching these types of vlogs. (Mainly because I'm traveling to Tokyo next month, but you do an awesome job in your edits.) I was wondering if you purchased your plane ticket directly from the airline or did you use a third part website like Expedia, Travelocity, etc. I am also staying in an airBnB which is way much cheaper than staying in a hotel. Thanks for your answer and keep up the great work!

    • @AnnLuuu

    I am so glad I found your channel today!! I have been day dreaming to visit Tokyo for a while now. Great Vlog!!! Did you find it expensive there for Americans? Also Tokyo looks very similar to NYC, do you think it is in reality? Thank you ❤️!! New subscriber here!!

    • @AnnLuuu
      @AnnLuuu  8 років тому +3

      Tokyo is definitely worth a visit! It's comparable to NYC, but with a different cultural twist. The high energy and fast pace is for sure similar :P I would say it depends if you want to do any shopping. Things like public transit and food are affordable.

    Hi Ann,
    Loved the vlog! Hoping to visit Japan at the end of 2017 to celebrate finishing Highschool. I was wondering if you had any trouble travelling around since you don't speak Japanese - (I'm a new subbie, so I'm not sure if you are fluent, but throughout the vlog I only heard you speak English other than simple basic greetings.) I'm hoping to know whether it was easy to communicate around, asking for help, booking hotels (expensive?), finding other english speaking japanese citizens for directions, looking at japanese characters and translating etc. in Japan.
    - From Viv, Australia!

    hey! just have a question about your layover in Shanghai. I'm flying to japan soon also with layover in shanghai. wondering if you need to recheck baggage and go through immigration. did you need a visa?

    • @oliverb6313
      @oliverb6313 8 років тому +1

      no visa required if you're just connecting. if you're flying one carrier and on one ticket all the way through, ask them to 'thru check' your luggage to japan. they should do this by default but you can ask if you're unsure.
