I gotta tell you guys, as I gain more and more appreciation for Scotch (coming from Bourbon), I find value in coming back to these DrinkThrough(tm), to explore more expensive bottles. Value really comes from the side by side tastings, from the same distillery, in the same sitting.
Good thing this video had an age statement. I had to make time to watch it all and Im glad i did. Great work and can't believe no words were slurred at the end.

Loved watching this tasting! Artist Collective Glenlivet 2007 Twin Cask is probably one of my favorite whiskies, so if you somehow still find it for sale, I would highly recommend getting it.

Holy flight batman! I had no idea there were that many Glenlivet's. I generally consider Glenlivet a rather innocuous dram without that much character, probably because it completely lacks peat. I did have a bottle of Nadura many years ago, I think it was the sherry finish, that was very good. I seems to me it was only available in duty free shops then. Surprised no one picked the Signatory as their favorite. Given the price and your comments that seems to be the winner to me. Maybe that's the Glendronach fan in me coming through.
After watching this video I started to buy Glenlivet again, I used to drink the old 12 years, I got the new 12 double cask, the founder's selection and the 15 french oak. Every time I tasted one of them, I load this video to have your reactions of the chosen one. love your streams. keep the good work

Love the Glenlivet 14 and 18, drank at least dozen of them with my family. I got Glenlivet 21 and 25 on my collection but waiting for the right moment to open those.

Awesome job guys. Glenlivet 12 was my first love into the whiskey world. I am a bourbon drinker now, but I won't say no to any Glenlivet. Having said that, I do not know how you guys made it through all of those. Awesome job. I watched the whole video while sipping bourbon.

Love your drinkthroughs! In Sweden the new Glenlivet 18 is only 719 SEK as a standard price (which is just under $69), really thinking about buying it!
I got the new 18 at 43 abv (86 proof) never had the old one so can’t compare but i hope it’s good , going to pop it open this weekend , so just checking out a few vids.

It was the 21 yo Archive... and I was blown aways by its "fruity'ness".
Was happy to see, that you ranked it that high as well.

Is it fair to say that if you had a complete rookie Scotch drinker prospect (like me), that you'd say... "Here, begin with the Glenlivet 12."
Definitely not a bad one to consider. However, if you are an experienced bourbon drinker, who likes higher proof, Aberlour A'bunadh would be a better choice probably. Glenlivet is more delicate and less bold, and might not be as interesting to someone who loves higher proof bourbon.
The prices have gone bonkers since you guys filmed.
Yup. I just bought a bottle of 18 for $160 a few days ago. Two years ago I bought a bottle of 15 for about $75. Now that’s $90.

Good stuff guys - would love to see a Balvenie Drink Through. I remember hating the 12 yr Double wood years ago but loved the 15 Yr Sherry - been thinking about grabbing the 14 yr Caribbean - cheers!
I have been collecting a few bottles over the last few weeks to stock up for 4th of July celebrations this summer. I Currently have the 15 which was $79, the 18 batch reserve $126.99, and the 21yr $249....which I might just hold on to for a while actually before even opening the case at all, but we'll see.

While your pallet is at its peak performance to be most discerning with the quality product.
Also there is a reason they bring out the cheap stuff at the end of a wedding. lets see if you don't judge the cheap bottles a little less harshly when you have a little buzz.
The older 12 was better than new 12. June 2022 the new stills will produce the 12 year old version
If it's premium priced, 40% and chill filtered, leave it on the shelf. Let the distiller drink it!
Grabbed a bottle of 21 last weekend and getting the new 18 this weekend, just missed the 25 by about a few days lol
Worth picking up a 3-pack 12, 14 & 18 for $199 at Costco or better getting the 15 & 18?
Ohh - interesting question! I think the 18, 15 and 12 are the ones to go with. Maybe get the 18 and pick up a 12 on sale when it can found around $30.

Have you all found that, after you spend more time with a pour of the 21, it transitions from amazing to mediocre? I had it at a bar and was amazed by it, until I got several sips in when it became weak and boring. I wondered if it was a fluke, but a friend who is also experienced recently corroborated my experience.

Been waiting for this video after watching all the blind test where gGenlivet won all.
So last christmas I got some sampels of whiskeys where 1 stod out and it was the Glenlivet 18. Now 1 year later I decided to buy a bottle of Glenlivet 18 , but it didn´t taste like I remember it to taste like. Now after watching this amazing drink through and some reveiws I started to think that maybe the sample I got was the old 18 years old with 43% and the one I bought was the new one at 40%. my question now is if it´s worth buying the old 18 years old for 110 dollars + 25 shipping (135 dollars) or should I go for the 21 year old which I can get for 145 dollars here in Sweden.
That's a great price for the 21! I'd go with the 21 over the old 18 if they are that close in price for you.

Ok boys, help a brother out. This video inspired me to look into some independent bottlers. I have an option to grab a Signatory Vintage Glenlivet 14 Year 1st fill Sherry Butt at 64.3% for $140, a Signatory Vintage Bunnahabhain 12 year 1st fill Sherry butt at 58.9% for $160 or my outliers, an original regular Highland Park 15 for $85 which I believe you guys said is better than the new version and a Highland Park Single Cask Series 12 year 1st fill American Oak Sherry Puncheon at 64.8% for $170. I can only get 1 so what are you getting?
wow - tough call! Any of the first fill sherry bottlings are probably going to be great. The HP first fill we've tried have been amazing, even though they are quite pricy. Would really hinge on your preference between spyside and peatier/smokier drams I think! Personally, I'd grab the old HP 15 - good price at $85, and you can't find it any more (although they just released a new 15 year we have yet to try).
@@CuriosityPublic I'm a Dalmore guy so I lean Highland over over Speyside or Islay but I'm all over the map. I think I may grab the Highland 15 since it's unavailable and then grab the Glenlivet after Christmas.
Or, they have a Cadenhead's - Dalmore - Aged 27 Years if I wanna get crazy after Christmas. We shall see. lol

Actually you don't have to respect 40% abv, a $100 bottle at 40% is an insult. Distillers assume you are too stupid to pay attention, and that you will just accept whatever crap they decide to give you. Complain with your wallet and maximize your value by not buying premium priced Scotch with a bottom shelf pedigree.
Dillion would be "LIVET" for sure, cheers.
