The pricing at that first store is disgusting. I'd never go back and tell everyone I know not to go there. Bourbon is for sharing and enjoying, not gouging people. Makes me sick to see so many good bottles sit on a shelf that will probably be there for a long, long time.

I saw Weller special reserve today for 50 dollars about 75 miles from Statesboro. I use to live in Statesboro when liquor sales didn't exist. I had to go to the county line
Freeland is a great little all female distillery. They are more known for their gin, but in the past year released their 1st rye from their own distillate. Good flavor, but overpriced because they are small and new. If you're ever in portland, it's a good place to visit.
Hemingway is a sleeper, too. Those old Fitz prices are damn good compared to my area. Van Winkles are always underwhelming easy sippers. Not bad, just overhyped.
That was a great video! Tons of great bottles, sad they are marked too high to go home with you, but you snagged some great ones! Curious about that Baby Jane…. Please do tell! I have picked up a couple of the Laws and if you like a fig note in your whiskey then you will enjoy it. It’s a pretty solid bourbon. However I have not tried the San Luis Valley Ryes, but when I get the chance I’ll probably grab one. Those prices are in line with what I’ve seen it for.
If you're ever around Thomasville GA, stop in at 1861 Distillery. Great drinks, food, and atmosphere. Their bourbon is a little young for my taste, but the Sorghum Whiskey is always a good bottle.
The PGA EC is standard small batch, however, supposedly the juice was pulled from a different rickhouse or a different part of the rickhouse where they pull their standard stuff from (not 100% which or perhaps it’s both). Several different reviewers have said it is better than the standard offering.

Yea, we have a few shops in our area that just put stuff out on the shelf. You got to get lucky. Nobody puts taters out on the shelf at those crazy prices either.
