This has to be the single most underrated song from the entire 90's. Should have been an Anthem-level smash-hit. Dishwalla got overlooked amidst the sea of amazing talent that we had. They were (and still are) an amazing, talented bunch. If you're here listening to this song, you're among the lucky ones.
Absolutely agree. JR is one of if not the most incredible singers I've ever heard. I highly recommend his more recent stuff. He has done remakes of Until I Wake Up and this song, as well as many others that are all fantastic, and his original stuff is just as amazing.
I must agree there's two things he talked about Jesus which a lot of songs never got paid for that unless it was demeaning towards Jesus which is sad glorifying God 2 but yes we had a ton of great talent rock rap folk everything was great even the mainstream garbage was ok it's like we robbed the next generations talent by how much good music we actually had I'm very blessed ,my son's actually listen to alot we grew up listening to and he feels the same way with they got robbed lol

Couple 2 or 3 years ago JR came to a little town in Bradley Illinois. Had some health issues going on but I pushed through walking pneumonia I went to this show. First concert I ever went to completely sober. (Antibiotics, had to kick it,almost didn't make the show) wanted the meet and greet but wasn't sure I would be able to do it. This was a year before The Covid. I got well enough to attend the show. Walk into the venue and the 1st person we/I run into is JR. The love of my life has to go to the bathroom. Now it's me and JR and I am starstruck. Me a d the dude with the voice. JR if you ever get the chance to read this... thank you for making that night a night that I will never forget. We chatted,you signed stuff from merch( and some things from my collection) we chatted some more. You made me feel like we knew each other for a long time. Still a fan and will forever love you and your music.Thank you for that night. Lovepeace
I listened to this album on repeat in high school when it came out. Can't believe I'm 35 now listening to it. Can still remember what it was like listening to it when I was 16. So nostalgic! Loved it. Also had a huge crush on J.R . Such a beautiful voice💖

J.R. has the most beautiful, soul-baring, green eyes... OH.MY.GOD. His voice is up with THE BEST. His lyrics are extremely deep. His guitar abilities, just EVERYTHING, is amazing. Total package. Then & now... amazing artist!! ❤️❤️❤️
That dude has a solid voice. There are other vocalists that are great but are with the wrong band. I always felt like this guy had the right band for his voice. Although he could probably fit into several genres.

Was just talking about your show at Peabody's in Cleveland in 1996. You were mesmerizing to watch, just like Mercy Baron said below. One of the best concerts of the 90's for me - such a great band with a talented lead singer. Good memories! I still play your cd in the car, as loud as is safe for my aging ears! ;)

Just wanted to say that I love hearing them today just as much as I did back in the 90's. My daughter, who is a mom herself now, grew up with Dishwalla and other bands from that era, is introducing Dishwalla to her seven year daughter! Keeping them alive through the generations!
Reed Diamond and Virginia Madsen are just deliciously distant in this! But it was a different time. Still a very satisfying performance. And JR as the id in the campaign room is just that much better.

Just wanted to say that I love hearing them today just as much as I did back in the 90's. My daughter, who is a mom herself now, grew up with Dishwalla and other bands from that era, is introducing Dishwalla to her seven year daughter! Keeping them alive through the generations!
