We love ours and it’s been across 14 states not a single issue other than I haven’t done any upgrades… come to think about it… that’s probably why there’s no problems yet 😂🤣
My wife's 2020 has 67k miles and the only issue we have had is replace the rear shocks. Great vehicle and was definitely an upgrade over the 16 Sport we had. Plus it makes more power and gets better mileage. She is averaging 23.5 mpg on mainly highway miles.
@jakes5530 Great, only other issue is the rear sunroof seal has failed and the rear drains aren't sufficient. So if it rains really, really hard (I'm talking torrential downpour), it will leak a little bit onto the headliner. My wife's Explorer is in the garage and I could always put a bead of silicone on it, but it hasn't been a big enough issue. Car has 90k miles on it now and still gets 25 mpg on trips.
I love my 23" now that we figured out what that annoying clunk was coming from the front end. It took two trips to the dealership and a loaner car, but I got it back and while they were removing the right front strut for replacement they noticed the upper bearing had separated. So they installed a new RF strut, upper bearing, strut mount, and did an alignment. Reading through the invoice it says “Found SSM 52405 for front strut noise and vehicle falls within build date of SSM criteria" So Ford is aware of this issue somewhere along the line. I know a lot of folks are experiencing this same issue and no one seemed to have a solution I could find. Except that the dealerships were telling them it was normal. DON'T buy that crap if yours is making what sounds like a strut or ball joint noise from the front end!! This SUV runs like a bat out of hell, especially in sport mode. It has a stiff ride and handles like a go cart instead of a 4600lb SUV. I'm doing the ST Experience in Asheville next month and can't wait to run the piss outta one these that I don't have to worry about fixing later ;)
Bro, that's awesome! I want a 2025 Aviator and typed high mileage explorer ST and got this video. I know they are not the same but very similar engine frame cargo, etc. Great video Im glad I watched it. Had a lot of problems with my 3.5 lariat cam phasers ect. Bought it with 25k and not sure when he changed the oil. I was told no more than 5k with these turbos.
I change our oil every 5k no matter the motor. I know with my newer 6.7 powerstroke, they say you can go up to 7k miles but rather be safe than sorry lol
Good video. I know its great on pavement, how is it in the gravel and sand? Handle okay? Gravel is about as much off roading as I could see doing so I want to know before I order. Thanks
Love my ST 2 years old, only thing wrong with it is that the drivers side seat control cover the plastic part broke from m y smaller wife sliding off of it, and not stepping out. Cant complain.
Personally I love it and we haven’t had any real issues. If you go Toyota there’s no real on road fun you can have in my opinion… I think you’d be disappointed.
The 24 is going to be a continuation of the the 23. You may want to wait for the 25. From what I've heard, 24 is going to be a very short run and then the 25's will be introduced.
There is actually a charging pad at the front of the center counsel storage. The thing I have found is the pad doesn’t charge very fast and I keep forgetting my phone when I leave the car. As to the storage door forward of the shifter, the make aftermarket pads to protect the door.
I do have kids and they were raised to NOT be spoiled brats! Kids that behave in unacceptable just just have to be TAUGHT by responsible parents who have a clue and that aren't afraid of them. When they grow older life will be a LOT easier for them if they behave in a civilized manner.

It amazes me that people will spend all that money on a nice car like this, and they don’t take care of it. Word of advise, don’t buy a nice car when you have young kids. This guy must be rich with over $130,000 dollars in vehicles sitting in the driveway.
My wife has a grey ST and we love it. One of the best all around vehicles you can buy. One year and 20k miles later and not a single issue

@vivianrobinson882 hate hearing that! Hope they fix it right

If my wife didn’t think she was Dale Earnhardt, she could prob average that 😂🤣😂
how's it holding up KJ? Looking at a used 2020 this week with 65k miles.
@jakes5530 I just put out a video a couple weeks ago with a 60+k mile review

Great video. It's always good to know what you're getting into after the car has been used in real life !!! Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
It's a good video, and I like to see a car review in which it appears the car is actually being used.
Thank ya!

Thinking about getting a ST or F150 next
The “TICK” is the high pressure fuel pump.
Good video. I know its great on pavement, how is it in the gravel and sand? Handle okay? Gravel is about as much off roading as I could see doing so I want to know before I order. Thanks
I think it does great overall but I can say I haven’t had it in sand but plenty of gravel and out in our fields on the farm with no issues.
I have a white '23 ST, hit some high clearance, rock/gravel trails in CO this past week in trail mode, and it made it easy
@wbaskin that’s awesome!
Tick is a normal thing with direct injection
Thanks for that info!
try different fuel / additive
Great Video! 🎉
Thank ya!
With that power it looks like a vehicle to drive

Does it damage the car in anyway if u have it in sport mode, on a Daily.?
It shouldn’t… it’s supposed to be built for it.
In sport mode, you are responsible for most of the shifting. I don’t personally care for it. I don’t think it actually shifts in the optimal points.
Looking to get a 2024. Should we stay awat and go Toyota 3 row? I want something reliable but somethinf i can have fun in too.

Where do you drive to put so many miles on already?
Daughter was on a traveling gymnastics team and then most of our family is far up north/on the coast
With bolt ons these things cooooook 😎 great sleeper
Any major issues since?
Went over everything in the video. Is there something specific that I didn’t cover that you’re asking about?
I put my phone upside down where you have your key. This way I can plug it and it doesn't move around there.

Its fake exhaust covers. Real pipes are pointed toward the floor.
“There’s nowhere to put your phone up here.” Yes, there is, your phone goes where you have the keys. That’s a phone holder.
Charging pad?
Front wheel drive Huh?
Intelligent AWD… may have slipped and said FWD…? Not sure where you were going with the comment lol
Nope, rear wheel drive biased. Goes into AWD mode when needed.
There's a cure for kids kicking seats; It is called DISCIPLINE.

Just buy a cargo shade. People buy this because it’s twin turbo and it’s an all around vehicle. Not that hard to wrap your head around
