  • I got this idea from the Hand's On Channel. A lot of people probably use it but I hadn't ever thought of it before and I thought it was a really good idea, and I really lack space on my work bench so I decided to put this together to see how I like it.

Excellent! Great improvement with the foam. I'm jealous of that Milwaukee chop saw, very nice. And thanks for the shout out.

The chop saw is pretty nice so far. I am pretty happy with it. As for the foam, I think it absorbs some of that vibration that comes from my disproportionate wire wheel. I have decided after this that a wire wheel is something I will probably avoid at harbor freight. I didn't really think about that being an issue but it is.

My own workspace is only 25x12 foot and a lot of that is used up on storage like scaffolding bars and planks/ house hold and garden shit. I have a bench down one end but it's limited for space I bought a polishing wheel recently and next is a grinder so this looks like an ideal. Thanks and best wishes from Ireland.

Thats a very good idea. I also have a bench grinder on my work bench, that costs me space and I don't use it very often.
I have to copy it 😁.

Mounting it to the angle iron and clamping it in the vice is a great idea and an awesome space saver. We'll have to check out the 'Hands On' channel. Thanks guys.

Not a bad idea, I have a nice HD stand and vise in my garage and might do this since I occasionally wanna grind out there. But for my small workshop(just made a vid bout it) I built a couple stands for the grinders I mainly use. For the small grinder I rarely use I just bolted it to a piece of wood and then clamp it to the bench when needed. Since I do the same baord trick with my vise in the small workshop it's not really an option but because of the large vise/stand in the garage I'd prefer angle iron over a wood board clamped to the bench. If yah follow LOL

My problem is the vibration of the bench grinder..I have tried put plastic and wood and I have noticed that the wood is th best against noise and vibration when I fixed the bench grinder on Wall Mont.you can give me ure point of view what do u think is better.thx

If your bench grinder is vibrating that bad you might want to change your grinding wheels for some better quality wheel because I don’t think it should be vibrating that bad. But that’s just what I gathered from what you said. I don’t know if that would really solve your vibration issues.

Thanks for the video. Any idea where I could I find the metal for the mount?

Lance Jacobs Scrap Metal yards would be a really good option. There is some angle iron about this size I saw at my local junk yard for sale just the other day. Of course that doesn’t help you, but it is there if you look!
