I'm looking for a vise stand for my dad's 30-year old (now restored) bench vise. I grew up watching that thing take a ton of punishment while crafting a plethora of projects and even learned a lot myself from it. This video is a TON of inspiration for my next fabrication project. Thanks a ton for the creativity push.
That Wilton vise is DANK. Edit: good inspiration here, I'll likely borrow some design elements from your build and create a multi-purpose stand that can be used to mount bench vises, bench grinders, and other tools.
Hi, I enjoyed the video. I’d like to recommend welding in your main square tube to the bottom plate with 1 inch welds on opposite sides allowing to cool in between each set of 2-4 sections of weld until it’s fully welded in, instead of welding a solid line on each end in one go. You’ll find it doesn’t warp the bottom plate as much if at all.
The good thing about that type of stand is you don’t need the x/y pivot on the vice so can cheep out if you don’t need the z pivot (vertical pivot for the jaws) because the stand is moveable I made one for inside and one for outside because I’ve got a very very old vice I inherited (just oil once or twice a year to avoid rusting)
Pretty hard to beat a welding table when doing something like that base plate. Tack it to the table, weld on the leg braces etc, let it cool, break the tacks free and perfectly flat base.
Tyler - don't know so have to ask; what's the cube with the handle main purpose? Looks like you're using it for several things - please describe/explain. I'm in the midst of using this vise stand demo to construct mine. Thanks
could make an adjustable height with some slots for pins or bolts or would that just be to noisy and clanky i am quite tall and have bacl trouble....idk what u think anybody tried that?
I found that it will warp a little no matter what. Either heat the opposite side of the welds later with a torch to un-warp it or add stiffeners like tubes
Hi. I have the same Vise, but the numbers on the jaw and the stationary Jaw are faded, and the casing nut is broken. Would you help me with the numbers on your Vise to order a replacement for my Vise ? Thank you.
What did the parts costs you to make the vise stand I have the same h f stand you have not that good need to make a better one good job on the vise stand
I still can't decide if I want to buy a new 400s or a 600s. Have you ever wished you could get a 6 inch over the 4 inch? I think new prices are currently around $709 for the 4 inch and $1499 for the 6 inch.
What is the height od this stand? I have big York Vise and building stand rights nie,, but I dont know that is should be as height ass workbench or lower?
This is awesome! Such great storytelling. 6 minutes went REALLY fast.
Excellent work. Your demonstrations are concise, clear and wide open for anyone watching them to add their own subjective improvements.

Sweet! I definitely agree with some other comments. The story line is what held my attention. A simple search for a solution. Nice work!

Wilton vise!! Good ones if it’s an older one!!! Looks new!!
The wilton bullet is like my dream vice man you're so lucky you have one.
Well done Tinkerbell.
Very talented young man, I wish you could build one for me.
That's what it's all about. You got my vote. Well done, bravo.
this video is so awesome. that intro sequence was golden hahaha
Fun to watch. You are quite the entertainer. A skillful one at that.
Nicely done video - not to mention the stand that is awesome!

Nicely done Tyler! 👍🏻👊🏻
Bad ass build. Loved that
I like the idea of having concrete at the base of the stand.
Super work. Great initiative 👍
Ok, thats cool! Nice work.
🇷🇺 пересмотрел много подобных работ, у вас более устойчиво и надежно сделано, спасибо !!!
Good work! Greetings from Poland.
Thank you!!👋🏻
Great work and an even better video. Loved the story telling. Looking forward to seeing more!

Nice job bro 👍👍👍⚒
Just a upgrade suggestion. weld 2 non rotating wheels on the front side so that they touch when you tilt the base so it is easy to move.
You can also make the baseplate round and roll it like a 55 gallon drum.
Crushing it man! keep it up!
Showing support for your channel!!👍👍
Great build man!
Looks good, well done!
Hey ho TB. Nice job.very stable. Easier working now with the vice. Like 1 keep the great work comming. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Nice Job Tyler. You did a nice job of over building just like I do... Fabulous Vice Stand..I am making one like yours
Thanks!
Now I want one!
Dude, this is such a great build, I love it! And I want one! 😄
Very funny too! 😁👍

Nice I like when you said stay
Great job young man
Great work, I ended up here after watching Jimmy Diresta’s Instagram story. You definitely earned a subscriber!

Pretty slick, Lookin Good. Later from Texas.

You think the harbor freight grinder stand would work well for a much smaller vise?
Excellent.
good job! Like!
Very good👌🏻
Great job.
You could add a couple of castors on the side, so you could tip it over and wheel it about,
Good idea. I was going to but it slides pretty easy
What was the double bar part that you added the holder at the base for?
could make an adjustable height with some slots for pins or bolts or would that just be to noisy and clanky i am quite tall and have bacl trouble....idk what u think anybody tried that?
Any advice on how not to warp the bottom plate? (obviously dont heat it much) Stitch weld approach maybe? I am about to build one of these

@@TylerBellMakes Thanks, one last thing. What was the dimensions of the bottom plate on the floor?
Hi Tyler, can you tell me what type of welding machine you were using for this project? Thanks
Fantastic
cool staff
Hi. I have the same Vise, but the numbers on the jaw and the stationary Jaw are faded, and the casing nut is broken. Would you help me with the numbers on your Vise to order a replacement for my Vise ? Thank you.
Add wheels on one edge so you can tilt it over if needed.

Bigger is better but the 4 in has been good for me
The plate didn't warp, it bent after you slammed it on the floor to look cool. 1:35
Tyler, which model number is that Wilton bullet vise, and what made you choose that particular one over other vises? BTW, you do nice work.
400s. The large aerospace company I work for has hundreds of them so I figured it'd be good enough for me. Thanks!
Tyler Bell Okay, thank you. I appreciate your prompt reply!
Nice!
What is the height od this stand? I have big York Vise and building stand rights nie,, but I dont know that is should be as height ass workbench or lower?
Nice
Next one before you weld the top pour some dry sandblast sand for more weight in the frame of the stand...........
Nuts underneath will ding up the floors lol
Gusset under the vise but nice stand overall
How thick was the plate you use for the base and top thanks
1/4"
Didn't you just need to add that base to your existing one?
Отлично снял
من القلب. برافووو
Muy bueno!!
You look like young Sheldon
Нормас 👍🔥😁 Ссылку на музыку покажешь? А, Я уже подписался😁
Perdone, pero no agrego peso a la base, ese.caño estructural se carga con cemento y tambien tierra o arena en su defecto
Take my money... sick.
You need a forge friend
It's good to see a "Smart " kid ...for once.
Is this a build video or a music video? Make up your mind.
looks like u over did it for a vise stand.
If it's worth doing it's worth overdoing
All you had to do is bolt it to the floor. Cool video tho
Said it wasn’t his floor
Hey I know that guy
Por dios, me voy a la mierda. Creí que está viendo un video de "LLAME YA" you tube va en caída libre. Cualquiera sube cualquier cosa!"
Would be a better video without the background music. Very distracting
the music sucks and it makes the vid bad, dislike
