    Emmie, I have been loving the Cowboy Caviar from your cookbook Healthy Snacks! And I make it with your tortilla chips. I make the tortilla chips as directed but I take them out a minute before they are done, add some lime juice. Thanks for the great cookbooks!

    Emmie, is it worth the price to take one of the higher quality probiotics like SEED or the one from ritual? What about a multivitamin? I’m currently taking your b12 and the ritual women’s multivitamin and probiotic but not sure if that’s all necessary. Thank you!!

    Hi, I need some advice people. I am about to embark on the starch solution maximum weight loss plan. I turned 40 in January and I am 5 months post partum. I am back to below my prenatal weight, however I have a lot more weight to lose which I have gained over the past 5-6 years and just really want to get rid of it now. I recently consulted with two different nutritionists and they both said I don’t eat enough protein and need to eat a lot more! I am a vegetarian since birth, so I started eating eggs, cottage cheese, paneer, protein shakes after their advice. I am losing weight but I just feel like I can’t accept that I’ll never be able to have potatoes, beans etc. as I am of Indian heritage, I was eating millet rotis (homemade pearl millet bread made only from Pearl millet flour and water). I eat a lot of vegetables, Indian vegetables, a lot of aubergines (which I was told are too carby and I need to avoid). I have a lot of daals (lentils) and a lot of beans. Apparently I can’t eat any of this and I’m finding it very sad to accept that. I have decided to now try the starch solution. I have to lose 15kg in 12 weeks, as I have a wedding. And I am hating my body right now. So I will do the maximum weight loss plan. I just wanted to ask if I can have millet roti’s as a form of starch? And is aubergine allowed? Also I hate oats so can I have veg and potatoes for breakfast? and is it possible to lose 15kg in 12 weeks on maximum weight loss plan if done precisely as Dr McDougall says.

    Heating miso at 350 would kill probiotic. Still nutritious, but probiotics would not survive the hot temperature. Please let me know if this is not correct?

      You’re absolutely correct ✅. Like when making soup with miso, add it at the end when the broth is lukewarm instead of boiling it.

    A key feature about the probiotic properties of fermented foods is that the beneficial microbes die when heated.
    For instance, put miso in a lukewarm broth instead of boiling broth.

    Doesn’t heating the miso with the mushrooms kill the probiotic bacteria on it? I’ve wondered the same about miso soup.

      Yes, temperatures above 115 degrees Fahrenheit will kill the healthy bacteria. Add miso to soups and other recipes just prior to serving.
