I hope this video helps you! Let me know which strategy you're going to start with this week 🧡 And here's where you can download my free Intermittent Fasting Tips: drkimfoster.com/fasting
I'm 43. I'm going to start with intermittent fasting - no food after 6.30 pm or before 7 am and walking 30 mins a day. I already do de-stress by journaling, doing yoga asanas, pranayama and head and body massage, but i need to make that more consistent. My blood pressure is a bit high which isn't like me but my job has become way more stressful in the past two years since returning after lock down.
Thanks for the 8 proven tips Dr. Foster. It's nice to find an M.D. devoted to Wellness, rather than pushing pills. I'll start tonight, with a more regular sleep practice. I'll get tougher refusing sweet treats & junk food my kids and grand kids push at me, meaning well. As for new efforts from your video, I'll add cold showers & intermittent fasting. I'm 85, & retired USN. I first developed a beer gut at 35, later grew to morbid obesity, then up and down again and again for 50 years. I'm at a plateau now, after a 20 lb. loss, moderate exercise & Magnesium stopped low Heart Rate A-Fib. I will let you know in a month or so if I break the plateau!
I struggle with losing belly fat. I have increased protein, I don’t eat or drink anything with refined sugar and I exercise regularly and walk regularly
I struggle with belly fat and got some new inspiration from your video. I will have to watch your videos on intermittent fasting. That is something new I could try. Also, I didn't know spicy food is good for losing belly fat. I will definitely start adding some more jalapeños and chilli sauce to my meals, as I love spicy food!
I've done IF for two years then I stopped due to moving, stresss, etc. So now I'm back on IF for months but nothing is happening....I feel like I'm in a permanent plateau...I'm working out and being mindful of what I eat as well...also drinking loads of water....ugh help! Thank you @drkimfoster!
@KimFosterMD The best way to burn fat heal chronic disease and intermittent fast is to eat a diet that keeps you in ketosis. Ketones are the proper fuel for our bodies especially our brains. Please do a video on why ketosis is so important for a healthy life. The easiest way to get and stay in ketosis is to eat a delicous, satiating, carnivore diet.
Hi dok and i'm post menopuse and my belly is also big.cant workout at the moment because i have injury on my richt shpuder.last week i started work I take the bus and i walk very far I am positive that i will lose the weight❤❤❤
I am post menopause and have belly fat. I do suffer from a lot of stress and do take supplements to help combat this. Any tips for this menopausal woman?
I have a very high stress job but learned how to cob by turning off my phone for 4hours after 5 pm and again at midnight-6am and refuse to turn on my computer until 8am since I worked almost 24hrs 7 days a week it was hard at first but I told my employees to call others at that time and delegated much more of my responsibility. I also told my kids not to call between those hours and if it’s a life or death situation call 911 and just leave me a message and I’ll get back to them when I wake up. I also take a walk 5-6pm and do meal preps so I eat at 6:30pm everyday OMAD with a dirty Keto diet. I’m down 25lbs since Nov 2023 and weigh 118lbs which is what I weighed prior to my triplets. My belly looks flat but I still have lose skin that you can only see when I do planks but getting better every month as I do 500 leg lifts 5 days a week plus walk an hour a day and just fit for 7 minutes every morning.
I have been walking a minimum of 30 minutes 6 days a week and it really helps my mental state. I feel happier and my legs are stronger too. I’m menopausal with belly fat too and over time I’m hoping to shed the tire tube around my waist. At first I was trying to do everything at once, walking, weight resistance, dieting and this was a recipe for disaster for me. This is when I stop everything because it’s too much at once and I fall off the wagon, so to speak. I decided to start slow with walking and once this becomes a habit, I can incorporate my weight resistance exercises 2 days a week. Slow and steady really helps me stick to it. For my walking, I bought a weighted vest which will help make my spine stronger (I have osteoporosis). To avoid injury, I start with no more than 5 lbs. I have been at a healthy weight my entire life until I started menopause. I never thought I would be overweight due to my skinny genes. I sure was wrong. It’s a whole new mindset, in my 60’s now and not recognizing the person in my mirror. My tip to you would be start off slow with healthy habits and then, little by little incorporate more. Sorry for this long response.😊
Thank you for this! Spent my 20's with a pretty loose diet and too much sugar/beer. Suddenly as soon as i turned 30 my middle has ballooned. So really appreciate this information
Having obstructive sleep apnea certainly affects weight loss but if one cannot afford the cpap machine what ought one to do? I have low grade sleep apnea.Gastritis doesn't allow me to include peppers, or anything that can irritate the lining.
Gonna start having more of the spicy food and walking more :) Already using IF, eating healthier, sleep is somewhat ok, have to figure out how to minimize stress (last 2 weeks have been really hard). Also using cold showers but maybe 1 a week and at the end of the shower (have to start with hot shower first). I have been trying to lose weight for the last 6 weeks and i lost around 5,5 lbs. Most of it is from just eating better, having 2 small meals and 1 large meal. Thank you for your great tips!
As long as you can resist and as cold as you can. Unless you’re going to sumerge in ice, then consider 10 minutes generally speaking but do your research and see what’s best for you.
My sleep pattern is right just certain days it take me longer to fall asleep have no idea why I was told by my doctor I don't have cortisol ran blood test what belly I've got is just a big hormonal belly that's so stubborn 😤😡
Your very young looking.. hard to believe you were a Dr. For 20yrs. You’ve aged well Doc.👍😂stay off the sugar and walk and keep stress low. 🙏🙏🙏I like your channel .
I have been fasting for about 2weeks (16:8) and for some reason, I am not hungry after fasting for 16hours. I also find I am not losing weight. Do you have to feel hungry to lose weight? (do you suggest I continue to fast until i feel hunger pangs?)
I hope this video helps you! Let me know which strategy you're going to start with this week 🧡

1. Cold exposure to increase brown fat burning - take periodic cold showers
2. Reduce sugar intake to reduce insulin resistance, especially fructose.
3. Intermittent fasting to burn fat and increase insulin sensitivity
4. Use spices - chilli peppers
5. Manage stress to reduce cortisol
6. Eat more protein
7. Walking
8. Prioritise sleep to reduce cortisol - 7-9 hours
4.
Thank you

Increasing protein,(like chicken and fish) then long walks in a coastal town with salt air is helping me shed unwanted fat.

Great video, I have used most of these strategies, and they work. Consistency and time are the key.
This is off topic from the video…I was wondering since you’re a health/wellness coach, what industry would that fall under?
Health/Wellness is an Industry
Cold shower, spices, walking ,reduce sugar, intermittent fasting.
You were a family doctor for 20 years? Did you start med school at 12? Great informative video. 😊
She looks very youthful that’s why you question her age

All great advice, which I do. How do you deal with menopause belly weight

I found I broke my plateau when I added Berberine. Dr Berg has a good video
New to site. Does she suggest a brand of Berber one? Thank you
Thank you for the video. You mention belly fat often but I didn’t hear you discuss white visceral fat, which can be harmful in excess.

@@merrijohnson-jones1072 Way to go! Congratulations! I have started to do a couple of planks most mornings.

*Thanks for sharing these valuable strategies!*
GREAT CONTENT!!!!

I saw that you have a program to become a health coach. How do I do that?
It helped me so much ma'am
Is Monk Fruit Sugar ok?
Ill start with limiting sugar
Having obstructive sleep apnea certainly affects weight loss but if one cannot afford the cpap machine what ought one to do? I have low grade sleep apnea.Gastritis doesn't allow me to include peppers, or anything that can irritate the lining.
Use an oral appliance ( similar to braces which allows more oxygen intake when sleeping )
Recommended instead of CPAP for mild sleep apnea
What stops sugar cravings. I’m struggling to stop sugary foods
Thank you 😊
You're welcome 😊
What if I gain there first? I am 59
A very important video

Thank you. You are beautiful. You must have used these methods forever.
Gorgeous kim
Very informative. Tq
I absolutely love your content Kim, but I am surprised you said "lean protein." Doesn't animal fat provide satiety?
Also hormone replacement, if applicable
How long would you suggest taking a cold shower?
As long as you can resist and as cold as you can. Unless you’re going to sumerge in ice, then consider 10 minutes generally speaking but do your research and see what’s best for you.
Ten minutes!!??? I can barely handle 10 SECONDS!! Do the 8 month-long winters in my area count?

So i think shes in her 40s
Just stop eating yummy food 😂
Exposing your body to cold also makes you grow body hair. 😧
doable, not strenuous exercise!
