We live near the trail in Monson, the bugs here are only deterred by DEET. Get Ben's Repellent, put it on your hat, hands ankles. But above all, don't talk about bugs over and over, we live with them Also B complex vitamins, thiamine, help repel bugs.

How many of us expect to see tears of happiness or simply relief once Katahdin has been reached? Of course there will be elation. However, I wonder if it will be from leaving behind the 100 mile BUG infested wilderness or the completion of the journey.
Many years ago when I obtained my first and only rain gear, it was made of Gor-Tex. It was waterproof and breathable. None of that clammy feeling. Is that still a thing for outdoor gear. I mention this because of Stella's comment about being assaulted through her pants.
What kind of mutant is Leffe to expose himself to the invading swarms of mosquitoes by wearing shorts. NO WAY would I be doing so. I would even be wearing gloves.
