I was so relieved when you started hiking with Coyote and Lefe, although you were a very strong hiker, it was nice to know you had these fine young men hiking with you just in case you needed a little support. And like he said , you are such a cheerful and delightful young lady, anyone would love to hike along with you. Coyote and Lefe are forever famous for hiking with Stella, my alltime favorite hiker.
I had no idea he had no hiking experience! He looked like a pro by the end.
Leffe has such a quiet, intelligent kindness about him.

I don;t know how the future looks for you two, but know you will always be friends.. Leffe has a great demeanor behind the camera, if Hollywood discovers him say goodbye to sailing... what I love is how the smiles become so big and bright when you two interact.

Leffe is the great dude. Got to know him in VA and shared a few meals in Damascus while I dealt with shin splints. It’s fun to watch people I’ve met on trail and videos from the same year. Now I’m home I’m going to make an attempt to catch up on yours and others videos… once I stop waking up all night and dreaming about hiking in rain.
Amongst other things my Dad did in his 37 years in the military is he designed and started the Sea Marshal program in the Coast Guard. The TSA also studies his training material. For Leffe to have that job means he likely has a military background and the authorities have 100 percent confidence in him. It takes a great deal of mental and physical to do and stay in that line of work. Respect to Leffe!

With so much negativity in the world today. It’s an inspiration to follow your vlogs Stella. You popped up on my feed in late February or early March. I subscribed and got caught up on videos. Then you became a part of my daily routine. I loved your infectious laughter and positivity. I am captivated by the Appalachian Trail. As with all things people make the difference, the hikers and trail angels, maintainers ,hostel owners, shuttle drivers and others. These people prove that we need each other’s support. Together we can accomplish anything. Good luck to you and future endeavors. Good luck to Leffe and Coyote. They also are special young men and salute to them for being gentlemen. The world needs more folks like you all. Thanks again for talking us along the way ❤

Holy cow that’s the same guy?! Thank you for coming along and being there when Stella needed a pick me up. I know Coyote was a big help and friend to both of you but it always felt like he preferred to be solitary. You brought Stella’s groove back!

You were all lucky to start and finish when you did and avoid the massive flooding on the trails. VT went subnautica etc...

That's a lot of good questions answered and I was surprised to hear that Leffe was not in shape or prepared for the hike. To look at him he looks very Healthy and physically Fit. That's a great message for other people thinking about hiking and preparing for the long haul and what to expect. Plus that's a lot of weight to start out carrying. You're stronger than you realize. 😅 It sounds like you have an exciting job. Leffe your a charming fellow and your company is lucky to have you. It’s amazing that you hiked through all of Pennsylvania without taking a zero but I would recommend combining a zero day with a little fun excursion to a nearby waterfall/swimming hole for cold water soaks as well as a much needed R & R and a break from the trail. For example, excellent opportunities for cold water soaks exist at Hackers Falls and Tumbling Waters Falls in the Delaware Water Gap area. The AT goes right by the Allenberry Resort in Boiling Springs. SPLURGE for 1 night, swim in their pool, get their famous sticky bun and espresso and relax, dip your feet in the yellow breeches river. Believe me, you’ll be rejuvenated and re-charged for the journey ahead. Same goes for Hot Springs NC. Book an hour at the Hot Springs Resort for a soak overlooking the French Broad River and feel free to jump in the river for hot/cold water therapy. In Elk Park NC There’s Elk River falls right off the trail, a classic swimming hole and a great place to take a zero. Overall Run Falls in Shenandoah,I could go on and on but my point is it’s just as important to SCHEDULE ahead of time your zero days as it is to schedule supply pick-ups, but furthermore, make them creative,fun, therapeutic/rejuvenating and not just a necessity based on sheer exhaustion.
I dont know if theres a developing romance here but one thing is certain, you guys have a bright future together as friends and hiking parters.

Leffe is such a cool guy. He seems really kind and fun. I’m glad you got to hike together. I kept wondering what you would have done with all those bugs in Maine if you hadn’t had his tent to hide in. I was always kind of shocked you didn’t take an actual tent with you if for no other reason but to escape from the bugs.

I am also glad you hiked Maine together. It gave you the resolve to conquer the water crossings and Katahdin! You finished just in time. Others are leaving the trail because it’s so difficult and dangerous !

Oh, this is such a cool video! I always wondered about Leffe’s story and how he decided to do a flip-flop. It’s always fun watching a novice growing and becoming a veteran. And - I’ve been backpacking at Enchanted Rock! I also went through the cave there. (The cave is cooler than the backpacking there.) I’ve been backpacking at Big Bend NP & Guadalupe Mtns NP, too. The backpacking there is more scenic, but the drag is that you have to carry all your own water! Water is HEAVY!

Good stuff. The hike north out of Palmerton is a monster workout. Going south is not as bad heading south is not too bad. I use to take care of the Overlook Outerbridge Shelter there as a maintainer.

I was just at Enchanted Rock 2 weeks ago. It was only 98 degrees with no wind. Brutal ... We practiced at Enchanted and Lost Maples for our through hike in '95. Nothing close, in Texas, to the approach trail to Springer. An eye-opening beginning. Ya'll are awesome. So ...Continental Divide next for you 2 after the completion of the AT? Enjoy your journey's and let the shadows fall behind you.

I wish Leffe would vlog, but understand if it's not his thing😅I would pitch in for some trail magic for Leffe on his hike when he returns to trail-give us a little warning and maybe we could get him a room or at least a meal!! I hiked the AT having never camped other than in my back yard when I was 5. It was so much more exciting to me that way. I knew I could figure it out and that’s what I did.
My pack weighed 55lbs. I was 80lbs overweight as well. That meant that I was doing about 8-10 mile days with 2 zeros a week at first 😂. I quickly lost weight from my body and pack and that made me feel really light after a few weeks. I started averaging 16 miles and then 18 and then before I knew it 25+ mile days were becoming normal. Then…. I fractured my foot. Yay
I wish I could do it all over again.

Stella…this has been one of my favorite vlogs…you are one of three solo female hikers I decided to follow for 2023…you have taught me so much here watching your hiking adventures …I’ve actually taken notes throughout and researched gear you used…Leffe you are a gift…your calm kind demeanor is beautiful and I was so grateful and relieved Stella would have a partner for the 100 mile wilderness…the support you gave each other was so awesome!! You compliment each other so well and I truly believe it’s why you could push through such harsh conditions❤Congratulations to you both!!
