Thanks for the update, good job! If you're new to detailing , before I apply the trim coating, I like to remove the license plate, to coat behind it...
As always another great video and walkthrough Phil! The Trim Cubes are really nice, I tried them about a month ago on my wife's Enclave and they were really easy to use. So far they are holding up and I cannot wait to see what it looks like after the winter here in Chicago.
Nice update on the vehicle Phil you and Jess always doing work. I enjoy CQuartz as well but I do feel like CSL and Exo edge them out for ease of use. Haven’t tried the new CarPro SIC yet though but definitely enjoy them all lol. Thanks again for always dropping those knowledge bomb videos.
Awesome content 👍🏼, I don’t understand people who say “pro level coatings are better”. I’ve put CQuartz and Gliss on most of my clients cars and it never disappoints. Same with CSL and EXO. I just tried Sic topped with Gliss and it looks beautiful. People just like buzzwords like “pro level coatings” even though I haven’t seen much of a difference between consumer and “pro level”. I love coatings but good lord, these are the same people that will say F11 is better than Ethos Defy because it cost more 😂. I bet if I put up a picture of a car with CSL and EXO and another one with Powerlock and Colinite 845 you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. I’ll get off my soap box. Again excellent work Phil and Jess 👏🏼
I completely agree. “Pro” coatings are subjective and really just means one can offer a warranty. But that really doesn’t matter to me. If it works and lasts the intended years of durability, then who cares if people think it’s a pro coating or not. If it works….it works. Thanks man😎👍🏼
Cerakote trim wipes seem to go further. Have you tried them? If so, how would they compare? Loving the videos. Watch them while working on the computer.
Phil how do u like the trim cubes compared to the cerakote wipes. I personally didn’t care for the cerakote wipes simply because the application with the wipes was kind of a pain if the surface wasn’t relatively flat lol. Looks like the trim cubes would be a better option. Also I ordered the autofiber microfiber wash pads 4 pack lol
Hi. We haven’t used the wipes yet. But the cubes are nice. However we still prefer bottles of trim coating becasue the cubes or wipes I know dry out to quickly.
Hey there Phil, I had a question to ask and maybe you can help point me in the right direction. A few months ago I installed a Coating onto a truck and a few days ago the customer called saying that the coating was failing. When I asked what he was doing to maintain the vehicle, he said he used dawn dish soap to wash his truck. Would dish soap damage the coatings durability and performance?
Hi. Aw man! That stinks! Well Dawn should be hurt the coating, but it may be leaving a residue that clogs the coating from working correctly. What coating did you use? Are they using a topper at all?
@@MirandaDetailing Thank you for getting back to me, and okay I used Drexler Ceramic Coating. I've been using that coating for 7 months now as my go to coating and I never had a customer call me about something like this. As far as I know, the customer said he used Dawn Soap to wash his truck and washes it every week. And the customer is not using any form of topper.
Ah ok. I would definitely let them know to stop using dawn to wash it and show them how to wash and maintain their vehicle correctly. You could offer to wash it and decon it properly and see if you can restore the coating.
@@MirandaDetailing Have you tried the mixture of dawn, APC, and white distilled vinegar. The vinegar helps to maintain the softness of the pads and microfiber towels.
Well the inevitable is going to happen. Time to turn off outside water sources. What a bummer. Hoses, for sure, will freeze overnight. Got to figure out something else. Do you have to turn water off during the cold months? 🥶 it's a shame because people want their cars done. Wait til spring? Maybe. Cool maintenance wash. Hi wife!
Hi. Fortunately it doesn’t stay that cold for too long here. We do shut off the outdoor spigots. But we have water and even got water in the shop. I’m going to hook up hot water to my AR Blue630HOT pressure washer soon so we can have hot water to wash cars with.
That’s what the customers budget allows. Remember we are not detailing for UA-cam, we are detailing for our customers, so it depends on THEM. We offer a 2 year, and 3-5 year, and a 9 year using Gtechniq coatings. Sometimes we use other coatings depending on what we have in stock. But each has a different price point and customers choose what they want or need depending on how much they want to pay. Also one layer of Cquartz is all that’s needed. We have customers vehicles that are going last 2 years with one layer of either Cquartz or EXOv4. I don’t agree with the whole two layer coating and thing. I have proven it for myself to be completely unnecessary.
Best way to kick off my Saturday morning
Gollum voice is great!
Got the trim cubes from Bill can’t wait to try them out and hopefully Lithium will start to sell in the uk 🇬🇧 hope your well Phil ✊🏻👌🏻
Looks beautiful! That Toyota is a nice looking SUV. 👍🇨🇦

UK is an excellent consumer coating for sure.
It is. It may be a “consumer coating” but we sell it as a 2 year coating for our customers. It’s awesome stuff!
@@MirandaDetailing absolutely agree.

Aww now that’s cool man even your wife helps! She’s a good woman! We’ll done sir. She’s a keeper.

Hi. Usually Super clean, extra tough or another apc

@@MirandaDetailing good point!👍
Looks good 👍
Would those cubes restore rubber trim?
Yes they should help. But using a ceramic coating on trim doesn’t always work well. The rubber absorbs it too much.

Hey Phil, great video. What solution do you use to clean your pads? I have KcX GS but am unsure of the dilution for pad cleaning. Thanks Phil
Hi. Actually we just use Dawn for cleaning pads. It for a great job.

@@MirandaDetailing yes, like Phil said Dawn or even All Clear clothing detergent

What type of aftermarket pressure gun you using?
Hi. This is what we use. amzn.to/3pXRSDK

Why not using a 5 year coating for all your clients? Why only one layer of CQUARTZ
