Can you help answer a few questions for me? Friend of mine recommended me wash my ceramic coated (Adams graphene) Audi with Carpro reset and then another friend of mine said not to use reset as it’s too harsh. Who is correct here? Also I have the carpro reload as well and trying to figure out when is best to apply this or if I even need it. (I purchased reload and reset as recommended by a friend to have on hand to wash my Audi when I get it back from ceramic coating) Love the content.
The diversity of products on this channel are fantastic Pan. Thank you for highlighting the importance of restoring paint protection because there are some out there that want to blame coating failure when all they need is a proper cleaning. So glad you finally got a chance to try out Dream Maker. The gloss was insane on my red paint when Matt came into town a few weeks ago!

Your research is correct. It's mainly used to descale paintwork (remove mineral buildup and water spots) but can also help to start the breaking down process of older waxes and sealants. It won't hurt silica sealants like ceramic coatings or silica spray sealants like CarPro HydrO2 or Gyeon WetCoat.

I did use the information here along with the Apex Metal Oxide 1 Year update. The coating used on my Chevy 2500HD is GlassParency Graphene. The foam steps were Bilt Hamner auto foam, then CarpPro Descale foam then Descale in the contact wash with great results. 100% DI water for mixing and rinses. Finally Optimum products for tire cleaning and dressing - I get great results with the Optimum line - typically clean the tires 3 to 4 times though. My detailing arsenal is 'Pan Approved' lol. Congrats on the new Turbo!!!! 😎👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. What would you say are a few of the biggest differences between your C8 and the 911 Turbo other than the Turbo having much quicker real world acceleration?
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks Pan ! You Rock ! Great Queston. So many things. Both are engineering refinement to the nth degree, The non turbo means a lot ! Also the C8 DCT engages right away. I can tap the 911 gas peddle and make it rev without moving. The 911 is a better build but the C8 is multiples a better bang for your buck. I'm keeping my 911. Had it PPF. Glad I did the windshield also bc it already took many hits along with the read quarter panel. The C8 has a much better android integration by far. C8 and 911 handle like on magnetic rails. I like the ergonomics of the C8 better including the square steering wheel. I'm just not a corvette guy always had imports... Q - How can you make the brakes stop squeaking when braking from 20 mph to a stop. Had that with both cars, They say it is a part of owning large brakes. Mine are non ceramic
Yeah there’s nothing you can do about break squeeking on high performance brakes unfortunately. I’m lucky that my carbon ceramics don’t squeak and don’t produce brake dust. :) Oh and those massive ten piston calipers are insane! 😁
@@PanTheOrganizer I passed on the ceramic brakes (10K + paint blk) bc I am not going to overheat them but big brakes do make a lot dust and it does not want to rinse off with a power washer for a shine. I subscribed to your channel quite some time ago and greatly value your episodes. I wanted to convey a situation that leaves me scratching my head. My car Is new three months old and driven very little. I immediately upon car delivery of the car properly applied Adams advanced graphene/ceramic coating. I recently had to have some work done on my car. Unfortunately it sat in there parking lot for days. I found myself with water spots when I picked it up. The process I used to get rid of the water spots was to was to, spray it with McKees N914, then rinse the car, then use foam cannon and then I washed the car. I definitely felt like after the wash the car was very clean. I then used a chemical guys water spot remover. The purpose of this comment was some information that you might find interesting. The pad that I used in the application of the water spot remover when finished was very dirty. I am baffled as to why what I thought was a very clean car, why I would have so much discoloration on the pad. I welcome your thoughts.
Yes there is often lots of embedded contamination in the clear coat that the naked eye can’t see. So even after a regular wash, the car might appear clean but in reality still has contamination, hence the chemicals used for decontaminating the surface. Welcome to my channel. Have to say... stunning car.. especially in this colour and with these alloys... not too agressive but still is.. while at the same time very classy.. love it!
Another educational video. It's great that You DRIVE Your Car! It's a car! It's meant to be driven. The hydrophobics on that coating are insane! Even before You did the decontamination process, it looked good! I've never gotten crazy with My wheels. I used csl back in October 2020. So far, so good. I'll try some of that wet coat. Thanks for another great video, Pan. It's a washout weekend here in CT, so no car washing. Have a good weekend.

@@PanTheOrganizer Pan, I do a similar spring maintenance as you do, especially aware of corners and crevices that could have various undesirable build ups. Ceramic maintenance I have been steering towards Phoenix EOD Titan or Griots Garage Wash & Coat. Others as well, but both of those have been giving fantastic results!
Just caught a video where you explain the ratio for Reset and my bottle just arrived with the instructions. 😅 Thanks for always answering to what may be a asked and reasked questions. You are awesome 😎
Extremely well-presented and informative video! I’ll be entering the world of Porsche and want to ceramic coat the surfaces to protect the paint. I like this video’s focus on rejuvenating after a Montreal winter. They’re just the saltiest and messiest and borderline depressing to experience lol. Well done, Pan! Would love to have you detail my car post-delivery next Summer. 🎉
Hoping to lock in my build soon on a 2023 Macan GTS… in Jet Black metallic. Am I crazy for going with this colour!? My other choice was Volcano Grey. Both exterior paints would be paired with the stunning Bordeaux Red leather (not extended) interior.
Hi pan great detailing and the way to go about it, it seems to do the job really well. Fantastic demo on the application of the products used. The car ain't so bad either......
Awesome work Pan as the Porsche looks super glossy and reflective. I do like the idea of attacking both ends of the ph scale in the spring. One surprise for me was how sweet descale is to use in the wash bucket after foaming. There was more lubricity than expected and it completely removed a spray on sealant. I appreciate the honest feedback on the tire coating and I think I will purchase this tire coating to make rinseless washes easier. Finally I was really surprised to see the hydrophobic behavior on the windows. The coating you used is holding up very well. Thank you for the video.

WoW!!! Très beau travail. J’ai remarqué que tu m a pas fait un pré rinçage et applique un rince and wash avant le savon de pre lavage. Est-ce que tu préconises toujours cette façon de faire ?ou c est parce que tu décontamines et réactives la nano ?
Hi, is there a good way to remove swirls easily? I've seen different chemicals but I wondered if it is even possible without polishing. Love your videos and thanks for the help!
There is no easy way to remove swirls. Machine polishing is the only way to achieve paint correction (unless you want to try doing this by hand which would take for ever and you'd never achieve the same results). Love it, thank you! So I have satin black powder coated wheels which suffer from a lot of brake dust (carbotech pads). I have had them ceramic coated. What should I use to clean them and seal them without wrecking the satin powdercoat? Thanks!
There aren't many options to do that unfortunately. But there is one special polish meant to correct minor swirls and defects on a coating, this one: bit.ly/3u5AIp0

Pan, why wouldn't you detail the regular tires/wheels prior to reinstalling them? I would think while the tire/wheels are off you could really detail them well independently off the car and apply a coating inside/backside of the wheels. Why would you wait to put them back on and have less access to the wheels for detailing?
Because my wheels and tires were stored at my dealership for the winter. So when I went in for my annual service, they remove my winter set and install my summer set. Plain and simple. And removing center lock wheels isn’t as simple as you think. My friend Matt from Obsessed Garage has many videos on this and it’s quite a complex operation and you need specialized equipment. And in the end, you don’t have to worry about my wheels. They were coated when I first got my car and I do regular maintenance with a silica spray sealant. Believe me when I tell you these wheels are protected. Water just flies off them. And for the rest, my car is perfectly clean. Impossible to know it has been through winter. That level of clean.
I will use Reset for the weekly washes. But as this is a special once every other season deeper clean, I like having Descale on the acidic side to further help unclog the coating, remove any minerals that perhaps might be on the surface, etc.
Pan, your car is gorgeous! You must be as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a rocking chair factory when you drive your car around town! Do you park it away from other cars in the parking lot when you go to a store? Great video as usual!
It’s certainly not a bad idea. So you can better visualize the new car prep process, here are the steps I perform on a brand new car for my customers: Audi RS6 Avant Performance: ua-cam.com/video/L5SQ0ZIJCj0/v-deo.htmlsi=mcQiMs9HBLlaqjGK Mercedes AMG GT 63 Coupe: ua-cam.com/video/4Kznrg3Z31o/v-deo.html Mercedes S 580: ua-cam.com/video/Vq_tfcwryVI/v-deo.htmlsi=whord2_UEFSg28UW Tesla Model 3: ua-cam.com/video/uV7QWwyuPL4/v-deo.html Aston Martin Vantage: ua-cam.com/video/OKga3yZVTqo/v-deo.html Volvo XC60: ua-cam.com/video/tvDBBenhYFA/v-deo.html Porsche 911 Carrera: ua-cam.com/video/2ckiivbFqs4/v-deo.html Audi Q7: ua-cam.com/video/t7HCBSVnizM/v-deo.html
Great video, I have a coated car which I will try the reset. Would you use the same wash protocols on a car with a full PPF or would you treat it differently? Perhaps a video on cleaning a car with PPF? I do find contaminates embed themselves in the film which gives me peace of mind that the film has protected the paint, but at the same time it is frustrating cleaning a PPF car as the surface is hard to get smooth because of these contaminants
The same methods and procedures apply for a car covered in PPF. Ideally, you would have a ceramic coating on top of the PPF for the best of both worlds. I made a tutorial on that here: ua-cam.com/video/7RCgqdGrvrA/v-deo.html
We are talking about ceramic coatings here. So those have no issues with chemical resistance, as long as you don't use high or low pH shampoos too often. For regular waxes and sealants it's a completely different story, as they don't have the same great chemical resistance that ceramic coatings do. So use at your own risk. In the worst case scenario, your paint sealant gets weaken or stripped off, and you need to reapply. Not the end of the world.
hey thanks for the video but how often should a person use carpro descale on a ceramic coating as it is acidic and i think overuse might cause damage to the coating
This isn't meant for regular washes. Only "as needed", meaning when you see water spot issues, or if it has been a few months and you need a more intensive cleaning power to remove grime and mineral deposits. For weekly washes, CarPro recommends their Reset shampoo (my favourite car shampoo).
Things got a little confused. In the product line up you showed Carpro Reset (for hand wash I think) but during the video I got the feeling that the car was washed using Descale. For me it makes sense to foam with alcaline, then foam with acid, then hand wash with regular/neutral/better lubricity soap. Can you clarify your choices? (I like to hear for different approaches) Thanks!
Reset was for the wheels. Descale was used for the paintwork. So an alkaline pre-wash followed by a slightly acidic hand wash. Hence the mention of switching pH ranges.
Love all your videos! Super helpful! Don't know it you will see this but I was wondering what I can use to do in-between cleanings on my vehicle. Just to wipe down pollen or light dust? It has a dealer installed "ceramic coating" which seems to work nicely for just wiping things off but it is not slick at all!! My microfiber cloths drag across the paint and I feel like this is going to scratch the paint eventually. I am pretty sure for the $600 extra I paid to have it put on, it really wasn't worth it and is not a very high quality coating.Time will tell I guess. Oh and is there an easy way to remove it and reapply a better coating without taking it to a shop to do this? If you could do a video or a response is fine. Thanks!
I can never recommend just "dusting" a car. I always recommend a full wash with water and buckets (I wash my car twice weekly) if you really want to make sure you don't scratch the surface. If you are not a perfectionist and don't mind to have potentially a few scratches or light marring, you could use a rinseless wash ONLY if the car is very lightly dirty or just lightly dusty. I made a rinseless wash tutorial here: ua-cam.com/video/RP_BZ-jZBnY/v-deo.html Also, ceramic coatings aren't designed to protect against scratches. The brands that say that are just using marketing hype. Yes coatings are the best form of paint protection, but for these reasons: gloss, slickness, chemical resistance, many years of durability, slickness, self-cleaning properties meaning that the vehicle is easier to wash, and UV protection. If you are worried about stone chips and scratches, the only solution if to have a paint protection film applied (PPF) and then top that with a ceramic coating for the best of both worlds. There is no easy way to remove a ceramic coating. They are meant to be SUPER durable, semi-permament forms of paint protection, so by design they shouldn't be able to be easily removed. The only way to ensure 100% removal of a coating is by machine polishing. I show how and why in this video: ua-cam.com/video/e7WRbfkT5Yo/v-deo.html
@@PanTheOrganizer Wow, thanks for the very in depth response! I really appreciate your time to answer my questions. I think a waterless wash sounds like a decent option for these spring time pollen wars we deal with in the south :-P Thanks again !

You can't access the engine compartment on a Porsche 911... ;). Unless you lift the car high up, and go from underneath. And even at that, it's super complicated. This is not your average car. ;)
Can u also use 2 additional upload of cure from Gygeon? And leave the car for 24 hours to cure inside the garage? Cure from Gygeon applied in 12 hours and also after 12 hours another layer?
There is no need to apply 2 layers of Cure. One is all you need. And there is no required curing time after applying Gyeon Cure. You can drive off in the elements immediately after application if needed.

Just did my 1st wash I have PPF and ceramic pro … it looks good !! I use the ceramic detailer at thee end and it looks killer gloss !!!! It’s the best top coat ever !!!
What ceramic detailer are you referring to?
@@PanTheOrganizer oops 😬 sorry the meguirs ceramic detailer .. I also used the geon wetcoat as well what’s your favorite ??
WetCoat
Thanks for another great video. Your car is looking so very nice :D
Thanks Pat!
It looks like gold!

Nicely done as always. I followed all your tips and products when I started cleaning my 2020 C8 and now with my 2022 911 Turbo. Thanks !
Mom say's the more you have the more you have to worry about. LOL HMD
Q -You get no brake dust at all ?
Really beautiful car Pan! You have worked hard for that car💪🏽
Thanks!
Congratulations Pan! Very, very good!

Exactly! Cars are meant to be driven and enjoyed. :)
@@PanTheOrganizer That's why My Vette has 112,000 miles on it(I bought it with 812 in August of 2005). If we had weather in Connecticut like they do in Los Angeles, it would ave 200,000 miles :)

Absolutely fantastic. What a beauty!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you! Cheers! What's your favourite spring maintenance routine? What products do you like using to refresh coatings?
@@PanTheOrganizer Pan, I do a similar spring maintenance as you do, especially aware of corners and crevices that could have various undesirable build ups. Ceramic maintenance I have been steering towards Phoenix EOD Titan or Griots Garage Wash & Coat. Others as well, but both of those have been giving fantastic results!
Titan is a great product!!
Super video Pan. It was cool to see the ceramic coating fighting off the soap when you did the contact wash on the car's hood. Keep up the great work.
Glad you liked it!
Another great video Pan. I can’t wait to detail my TLX tomorrow!
Have fun!
I am sure you this asked and answered but what dilution of Reset in a foam cannon and in a 4 gallon bucket for hand washing?
Just caught a video where you explain the ratio for Reset and my bottle just arrived with the instructions. 😅 Thanks for always answering to what may be a asked and reasked questions. You are awesome 😎
1:10 in the foam cannon, and 1.35 oz in your wash bucket. The instructions are clearly written on the label. ;)
Thanks Natalie! Which Porsche are you getting? It will be a life changing moment for sure!
Hehe thanks Alan!
Thanks for the feedback Neil. Yeah that coatings is blowing my mind on all surfaces.
Great video Pan, your porsche looks like new again, I can't believe it's been one year since you bought it 😎😎👍👍

Just interested as to why you didnt use Carpro Reset for the contact wash rather than the Descale?
I will use Reset for the weekly washes. But as this is a special once every other season deeper clean, I like having Descale on the acidic side to further help unclog the coating, remove any minerals that perhaps might be on the surface, etc.
Great video…awesome car😍
Thanks Jonathan!
Could Adam’s strip wash be used instead of the Bilt Hamber for a presoak since it also has a higher pH?
How often would you use descale every 3 months or every 6 months when using iron fall out remover?
Only when you need it. Either when you see water spots or every 4-5 months
Pan, your car is gorgeous! You must be as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a rocking chair factory when you drive your car around town! Do you park it away from other cars in the parking lot when you go to a store? Great video as usual!
Thanks! I avoid driving in big cities with it. Never park it in the street. And in parking lots, pick my spot carefully.
Did you apply ceramic coating in the glass the same way than the rest of the vehicle ?
Yes. The Roar Coating is versatile and we applied to paint, glass and wheels.
should you use descale before aplying the coating as well?

Great video, you use 15 liters of water, for 147ml of descale carpro, is that it?
Thanks
1:100 ratio regardless of what volume you're using. For me it's roughly 5oz into 4 gallons of water in my wash bucket.
When using an alkaline pre-wash, do you have to use the same precautions as using an acidic pre-wash to prevent your sealant from diminishing?
(I like to hear for different approaches)
Thanks!
Reset was for the wheels. Descale was used for the paintwork. So an alkaline pre-wash followed by a slightly acidic hand wash. Hence the mention of switching pH ranges.
Its about that time for sure my bru!
😁😁😁
@@PanTheOrganizer hope things are dope up North bru.
Finally a video less than 30 minutes long
Love all your videos!
I made a rinseless wash tutorial here: ua-cam.com/video/RP_BZ-jZBnY/v-deo.html
Also, ceramic coatings aren't designed to protect against scratches.

Pan, after your long winter in Montreal do you once again clean and detail the engine compartment?
You can't access the engine compartment on a Porsche 911... ;). Unless you lift the car high up, and go from underneath. And even at that, it's super complicated. This is not your average car. ;)
Can u also use 2 additional upload of cure from Gygeon? And leave the car for 24 hours to cure inside the garage? Cure from Gygeon applied in 12 hours and also after 12 hours another layer?
There is no need to apply 2 layers of Cure. One is all you need. And there is no required curing time after applying Gyeon Cure. You can drive off in the elements immediately after application if needed.
