What a crazy turnaround on that paint!! 😱 Correcting Compound and Finishing Polish are available over at detailgeekautocare.com! Have a great weekend everyone!!
Serious question: I saw your video a while back on how to start your own detailing business. I've started my own last year, but where I'm at, people don't want to pay. I started off only charging $75 for a full interior and exterior detail and I only had 3 people hire me, two of which were family. The least amount of time it has taken to detail a car is 6 hours, which I feel is reasonable, however, people want me to only charge $50 or less. At $75 per vehicle for 6 hours minimum, that's only $12.50 per hour. I make a lot more than that at my regular full time job. I don't want to detail for free. I don't mind charging $75 right now until I get more experience under my belt, but it's hard to get customers because they want to pay so little. I do a great job and from the 3 people I detailed for, I've had a lot of referrals call me, but they all think I am charging too much. I guess my question is, how do you get people to trust in your prices for the great detail job and service instead of thinking you're paying too much?
It's so nice to know that not all of your clients eat, drink, have food fights and barf in their vehicles. You did a beautiful job restoring the black paint.
I used to “live” in my car i always had a trash bag, one for bottles and cans and other for wraps etc. Vacuumed every weekend because it also served as a family hauler.. I dont understand the mindset of these people with such dirty cars
@@musikdrengen02 I've helped two people with their disaster vehicles. In both cases, let's just say there were dysfunctions being treated by medical professionals. It went far beyond the typical junk drawer in the kitchen or garage. 💔
I eat drink and all that in my truck but I take trash out of it every day when I get home. It’s not that hard, I don’t see how people let their vehicles get that bad. The worst mine gets is mud on the rubber floor mats
Hi from France! My 4 year old is obsessed with your videos 😁 I can't clean my car without him. I got him a set of brushes, cloths and sprays so he can help. The result is never good enough for him as he reaches for your standards! When we're done, he starts humming the theme you usually use for the reveal at the end of your videos. Thank you so much for your videos! He calls you "le monsieur qui nettoie dans les voitures" meaning "the man who cleans inside cars" 😊
LOL make him his own UA-cam Kids channel and film him when he helps detailing your car 🚗❤ 😊. That would be very nice and wholesome content for other kids to watch!
Nice to see a change from the disaster details. The colour correction and ceramic coat you did on the black mustang was the whole reason I did my car, which led to me doing a neighbours, and now a nice side hustle detailing out of my garage! Love the Detail Geek, thanks Mitch!
Kind of a relief to see a car that had a normal looking interior. I mean, my car isnt clean clean, but like, i could offer a ride to one of my mom's friends without dying inside. Nice to know that paint can be corrected!
Mitch, the like button isn't enough to show you how much I love the way this car turned out. After the protection that pait look wet as if you touched it you would smudge the paint job. Awesome bro
@@CaterhamMatt he might've done some stuff off camera. it's also about appropriate efficiency. trim doesn't need to be masked for all polishes and the IPA wipe down is only when you got wax residue on, still. but this paint might've already been pretty clear from such when the car got in. residue control is mainly when you've other vehicles in the garage. and he might've blown out or changed the pad frequently off camera. because he also tries to keep the video length under control.
I want to say, we need more people like you. Not as a car detailer, but in every single profession. I can hear that you really love your job. People who loves their job are the ones that will do them to perfection. I get sometimes supervisors and bosses can be annoying since i felt that first hand, but i feel that most people shouldn’t let that be a deterrent to make them not enjoy doing something they used to love.
Absolutely stunning Mitch, that car is totally spotless, showroom condition, 10 hrs of meticulous attention, you are the detail superstar, cheers from Oz where I live with a BMW that has a peeling clearcoat and has not been cleaned let alone detailed for years, I do have a bad back and survive on a pension so am unable to do much about it, take care, see you next time!!!🥰💕👍💪🚗
I know I will never reach Mitch's skill level but watching these videos had made me much more proficient at cleaning and detailing. Thanks Mitch for all of the instruction.
As always, excellent work--and even better, you were working on a Sentra! I have a (much older) one, and though I love it, I have found Nissan's paint quality to be lacking. Thanks for showing us step by step how you eliminated those swirls--this car's "before" looks like mine does now, as I do go to automatic car washes. You made the exterior gleam! Also had no idea about the Nismo version--interesting trim. Thanks for another great video for a Friday!
This car looks amazing, there ain't nothing like a dark color when it corrected, polished and a protective applied! I would say Mitch ! ,this is one of your best before and after!
Anyone crying if detailing costs, IT IS A VERY TIRING JOB. Detailed my car yesterday in the same order as Mitch does it, and it took me 8 hours. And my car ain't even messy. Didn't need extracting and steaming panels. At the end of the day I was DEAD. This guy is strong.
Nice detail and also I wanted to ask a request for a video, because I want to get into the business of detailing and I’m sure that there are others want also and yes you have a website but it’s kind of hard to tell which ones you are using when and it’s kind of overwhelming when I see all the products so, what I am asking for (I know you are probably busy but still I think many would love it) is a like hour long video where you detail a car and go in depth about what to buy and when to use what you buy. I’m sure many people would be very interested in a video like that
Amazing job on the Detail. It's very satisfying looking at the job when it's done. I did 13 years of commercial detailing and it took a huge toll on my body and mind. I'm glad I let it go and moved on. I no longer worry about the small things.
You should create playlists on here or on the second channel and divide the videos amongst the various car brands you've done! It'd be very interesting to see the number of how many cars of each manufacturer you've done.
Mr detail geek I am just letting you know that you are the one that got me into detailing and yet I’m still shocked at how good you can get the cars while I can’t even get a carpet properly cleaned
Excellent video and amazing detail yet again. What a motor that is. Have you thought of saving your back and doing the mats on a table or something, in your line of work you need to look after that spine - much respect from Cardiff, Wales
The factory orange peel screams "I'm an economy car playing dress-up!" Still, I'm amazed that you were able to get such damaged paint to look that good that the only obvious flaw is something that was there right off the assembly line. Well done.
I have a 22 WRX that came with a”protection package”. It’s killing me to strip it and start over. My first attempt was my 2001 BMW E46. Now I want all my cars to look like that. What an awesome detail. You should be proud!!
Every time you clean the inside of the doors with that pressure washer my heart skips thinking what if it went into the car (even though you will clean the inside anyway.) Keep up the amazing work!
This is deeply satisfying. Immaculate work as always! I don’t think I’d be able to use my car once it was looking this nice😂 Now I need to do this for my Beauty and definitely for my grandparents’ Rav 4😭
Watching the clay process. I’m curious, do you use the same for entire car? Also, suggestions on the nooks n crannies of the front of a car, like the 2022 Honda Accord. I’ve got lots of caked bugs n debris… also, black!
My son worked at a Saturn Dealership as a detailer. A woman brought her 3-week old Saturn into the Dealership, her children had surprised her by washing her new car, one child had used a SOS Pad. She was crying when the service manager called my son up. Can you do anything ask the service manager. I can try my son replied. Two days later the woman returned, upon seeing her car she burst into tears (agajn) this time tears of joy, my son had restored the exterior to like new and detailed the interior. Always proud to te tell about that event.
Paint Correction is my absolute favorite part of detailing...watching a swirled mess turn into glass smooth...nothing gives me more sense of accomplishment than restoring a paint to better than showroom condition (for those unaware, showroom condition is usually swirled to hell due to improper washing techniques at the dealership)

Thanks mitch i always find your videos relaxing and satisfying I just started my UA-cam channel I have a couple of videos on already so hopefully it goes well
Great paint correction results! Because the Sentra is black and it’s hard to see how much tar might be on it, I use Carpro’s T.R.I.X. first to remove both tar and any iron fall outs that’s on the paint before clay barring. And when clay barring, I use Chemical Guy’s clean slate instead of a detailer as the lubricant, and to clean the paint at the same time. You’ll find the clay bar won’t be as filthy as a result in the end.
That is beautiful. I didn't know the swirls could come out so well. I have a 1999 Honda Civic and I have never taken it through a car wash that has brushes, only spray on or handwash.
