Hi Shane, your lessions are effective and uplifting in this boring times. Stay safe...great ings from t south of germany.
Cool video. I'm new to this instrument but love the sound and learning to play. Your videos are useful and easy to follow. Thanks!
Thank you for the lessions Shane, big up from Brazil! 👏
Man I could play just this all day long sounds so good! Thanks for the tips!
Yes indeed, Shane, you're spot-on! I'm a huge fan of thick and creamy reverb. Delay as well. You rock, bro.
sweet
Thank you for inspiring me. I should finish my first canjo tomorrow. mostly waiting for things to dry so I can assemble it all.
Dude iv had a micro cube since i was like 9 im 25 now and me and my pops both still love that thing.
beautiful....appreciate all that you put out....never ending journey learning how to play cbg. btw I have your book. thanks
Thanks, Walton!
Thank you i'm learning so much from you could you do more like this also maybe do of how to accompany someone else
Learning how to accompanying somebody simply takes time. Go to an open mic once a week and sit in with folks. Fumble until you figure it out. I developed the skill of jamming with others after running an open mic over the course of 3 years.
Awesome tips Shane! Thanks for the tutorial! :D
More to come! Thanks, WS!
Shane, can you do a "Johhny Cash - Gods gonna cut you down" how to play tutorial on a 3 string cigar box guitar? I would appreciate it.
Thanks for the awesome tutorial! Any rec. on how to measure where the frets should be?
I wanna burn some in too :D
thank you so much for keeping the tradition of passing music on for free alive.
my pleasure!
it sounds fantastic shane
very very helpful....thanks
this is great, thanks
Thanks for the lesson.
If we keep the action a little high, it appears we can fret the individual strings a little easier?
Your a huge source for me to learn all of this , Thank you very much.
Thank you very much!
Great sound, beautiful instrument!
THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!

Nice,, thank you!~John
Thanks 👍
I've got a question I haven't seen anyone play any songs by Black Sabbath do you know any songs on the cigar box guitar you can play.
Am trying to learn the three string slide guitar. Need an amp.
Great tutorial, Shane can you please let me know which brand strings you are using to play
your cigar box ... sounds great... thx
I use the Southbound cigar box guitar strings. Choose the LMM option: www.cbgitty.com/cigar-box-guitar-parts/strings-sets/3-string-open-g-gdg-modal-blues-string-sets-choose-from-4-set-varieties/
Thank you Shane.. got it ..
Awesome Shane, you rock
Nice video! Subbed...
Do you need special strings for cigar box guitars
How do you get that almost resonator guitar sound on most of you're guitars. Sounds awesome! Not sure if it's the tuning the, string gauges configuration, or the bolt nut!
Tons of reverb on the amp...
@@johanneswerner1140 Whats best for that banjo like resonator sound? I was thinking spring or plate
Ha, if I knew! I mostly built wooden instruments (medieval-ish fiddles).
Springs will get you sort of a reverb, plate will likely get you the metallic banjo like sound. (from my understanding and lots of UA-cam bingeing, and some reading). My first three string guitar like instrument is a tin can banjo. It's still in the basement, not yet stringed.

shane your website is not working correctly, i tried ordering something and it will not let me. plus no stubby slides available
Awesome. greetings from Brazil.
Whatkind of slider is it? Greetings from germany 👍👍
Might wanna link to poster url in video discription 😉
i quit selling the posters. I just get 'em made up at Staples and send them to bars as advertisements for upcoming shows.
Hi Shane, I know this is an old video but I'm hoping you notice this, you have an electronic type tuner attached to your guitar, how the devil do you use it, especially on the high string, fingers crossed 🤞🤞🤞
David Morgan set the tuner to Chromatic
@@ShaneSpeal Thanks
How about a Roland CUBE‑80GX ... that is what I use.
I need a CBG now
What tuning is this

спасибо огромное за доступное видео!
Hi Shane, is that a socket you're using as a slide there?
Yes. For decades, I used a 3/4" Craftsman socket. Only recently have I changed over to the King Slide: shanespeal.bigcartel.com/product/shane-speal-king-slide-the-ultimate-steel-stubby
"I'm using a stubby slide" I know a Craftsman socket when I see one.
Ronnie Rowe 3/4” to be exact!
@@ShaneSpeal lol. Love the videos. Thanks for the hard work you put in.
LMFAO!!!! it is!
I have a full explanation of the socket over at stubbyslide.com. I love 'em.
It's more of a concept, the slide can be many things
Maybe put the riffs/ scales down so we can print them ? Thanks for the lessons
If somebody out there wants to create TABs, I'll definitely link to them. I play by ear, so this is the natural way for me to teach.
You have a nice camera system. It is somewhat distracting, however. Your videos would be slick if you designed a foot control. Love your playing.
👍👍👍
God your good and a pleasure to watch.
I knew it was a socket....
how bout some zepplin
Reminded of tea party 90s
what better about a microcube over a pig nose ?
Guessing it's because Pig Nose has no reverb.
I think I have some stubby slides in my toolbox in the basement.
Pan pipes suck with out reverb
Can you go slower for newbies?
for the love of god do not buy a microcube hahah. thats no secret, thats trash brother. just buy a decent amp and it'll stay with you the next 50 years. guitar looks awesome tho
