Today we are visiting Hong Kong on our Diamond Princess Asia Cruise vlog series. During this cruise we'll cover 2800 nautical miles and visit Tokyo, Shimizu, Osaka, Taipei (Keelung), Hong Kong, Nha Trang & Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) Vietnam, and Singapore.
After a smooth debarkation, we are off to meet Wouter, our guide for our visit to Hong Kong (BTW - I mispronounced his name in the intro, apologies). We booked today's excursion using ShipMate App, and it was a very smooth and reasonably priced shore day for us. After quick introductions, we are on a bus bound for Nan Lian Garden and Chi Lin Nunnery. It is a beautiful place complete with permanent exhibitions of Chinese timber architecture, rocks and potted plants, bonsai, and even a vegetarian dim sum restaurant hidden behind a waterfall. We finish off our time at the garden with a stop at the main hall of the Chi Lin Nunnery. Filming is not allowed inside the temple, so we have no footage. If you visit Hong Kong we highly recommend Nan Lian Garden and Chi Lin Nunnery. It is free to enter, and so tranquil and lush. Next we hop on another bus, and head to the Avenue of Comic Stars and Kowloon Park. The Avenue of Comic Stars is essentially a line of statues of characters from Hong Kong comics ranging from the 1960's to the 2010's. It was a fun stop for us, and if you have children, or just love comics, it's a great place to visit. Kowloon Park is just steps away and is lovely. We took a nice stroll through the park on our way to the waterfront. We hung out at the waterfront long enough to take a few photos, and then we boarded the Star Ferry. We had fun walking around and shopping the markets in a place our guide referred to as "Toy Street" We capped off our time with Wouter by visiting a restaurant called Cuisine Royale in the Hopewell Centre area. At Cuisine Royale we enjoyed dim sum that was unsurprisingly authentic. As a final treat we took the glass elevator in the Hopewell building up as far as we could for some amazing views of Hong Kong (perhaps the best views in Hong Kong). Our day went fast, but we still had some fun surprises left. Sail away from Hong Kong was serenely beautiful, and our Italian dinner was outstanding. This day will go on the books as yet another unforgettable adventure on our Princess Cruises voyage to Asia. Thanks for joining us for this cruise vlog as we travel to Japan for our Diamond Princess Asia Cruise. We've got much more Asia cruise adventures ahead. We'll have some Asia cruise tips, more cruise vlogs from Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Singapore.

I didn’t think I would enjoy these vlogs as much as I have. This cruise has provided some great scenery as well as great views of various Asian cultures.
Loved this video. My husband is from HK so I've been there about 10x over the past 25 years. I LOVE IT!!!! You went to places that most tourists don't see. I didn't even know abut the glass elevator in the Hopewell Building. Will have to check that out in March when we disembark from our 14 night cruise starting from Shanghai. We are staying 3 nights as we want to take the bus over the new bridge to Macau. You'll just have to do another cruise from HK with a few days before hand.
If you have more than the 15 seconds of Kowloon Park Id love to see it. I haven’t been there since 1993. The Kowloon side of hong kong was always my favorite. Much better partying.
Don’t suggest Taxi. Their subway system is amazing and the only cleaner subway I’ve ever seen was in Singapore. You could literally eat off the floor in a singapore subway.
Great Hong Kong Vlog! Next time we’re in Hong Kong we’re definitely going to Nan Lai Garden! For any first time visitors (we’ve only been once), a must do is a trip up to Victoria Peak. It’s beyond breathtaking. You can take a tram up, but if that’s too busy a taxi is fine too. There’s beautiful parkland and waterfalls and even an incredible multi story visitor center/shopping area, and to see the tops of all these huge beautiful skyscrapers is a once in a lifetime sight. Why didn’t you guys go? I think you would have loved it! The Jade market is a blast too.
So glad Jr likes kids camp now. I remember when I first started watching you couldn't get him to go. Great for parents to have a break for a few hours and these programs are FREE for 3 and up on most lines.
I’m so glad you went to and enjoyed Nan Lian garden. It was my favourite place on my short trip to HK! Your video has brought back so many nice memories. Thankyou CCTV 😊
Amazing camera work 💞
The dancing was great. Lol. Love the gardens. That glass elevator oh my. Once again THANKS to CTTV family
Would you be willing to share a run down of the cost breakdown for this trip? I am curious...I’d love to plan a trip such as this for my family ❤️
We so need to cruise together! We’d be jamming out whenever an alarm goes off! 😂
This all looks like such a fun experience! An Asian cruise has definitely made its way on my bucket list, thanks to your vlogs!
is that excursion on shore in Hong Kong taking place at the beginning of the Cruise Journey at the embarquement or the Arrival ? What was this Cruise itinerary Exemples Hong Kong to Singapour ? or Singapore to Hong Kong ??
The excursion was happening in the middle of the cruise. This cruise went from Tokyo to Singapore.
You’re SO MUCH BETTER than sea cruisers!! Finally, a cruise blogger who doesn’t focus on FOOD.
12: :47 HA HA HA!!!!!! For sure
Scott Singer always references your channel, I see why now. Your family is wonderful and your adventures are also wonderous. The images of Hong Kong were spectacular. May I ask what camera you use? Looking forward to the rest of these vlogs,😃
Thank you! Much of this was filmed with iPhone and GoPro! We love SCOTT too!
You have made some awesome choices for your time on shore. Stunning footage & amazing memories! Thank you for sharing with us.
I loved Hong Kong whilst in the Navy both times I visited we spent 2 weeks there.

Wow that sail-away from HK looked amazing!! What ship was that leaving that had "sign" on the side saying "I love HK"? Never seen one that did that before! Awesome. Thanks for another great video!
I think it's the Genting Dream
Sheri you are great.
Lover the editing, Mr CTTV!! Sheri made me laugh with dancing to the alarm "music"!! What an interesting and lovely city! Thanks for sharing!
Have you sailed on the Regal Princess?
I booked a cruise in April with some friends. We have always gone on Carnival and decided to try something new.

Hi Sheri, what a great vlog. Keep changing the number one vlog, but MrCTTV your photography was beautiful, so have moved this one up to number ONE. Love watching on the big screen, the picture is so sharp. What a great day in port plus the lights at night. Thank you ‘cause it’s a long while since we were there..happy memories. 😊😊🤩🤩💫💫
Loved this vlog I really want to do this cruise. Mini beach looked fabulous and the parasailors were hysterical and no I definitely wouldn’t have done that either. 😍⚓️🛳🎉🌴
Really enjoying this series. Such an incredible trip. Do you ever travel within the US or are you just interested in cruising? I am thinking you probably do but don’t share those travels on YT. Thanks for taking us along on this fantastic journey!
Fantastic video :-) Curious... it looked like you had yum cha lunch, is it called Dim Sum in the States? Thanks for the amazing footage, my bucket list of places to go is getting so large!
Glass elevator....beautiful, breathtaking, somewhat scary ride up.
Hello. I love this vlog series. Found you when I started searching asia cruises. I don't see this particular cruise on Princess we site. Is it still available? Also, I see you got a guide is it best to do that?
Wow so beautiful. I thanking having the guide is the way to go. I get lost easy in big cities. Was the guide though Princess or a private tour place? You might said sorry if I missed it.
Absolutely gorgeous adventure! Thanks for sharing. To be continued...⚓🚢🗺

Hooray for better weather! Enjoying the vlogs very much.
That park reminds me of Central Park. An oasis within a city.
That is so pretty, I can't wait to see Asia!
Thank you! You will love it.
I am sooooo excited!! I have been wanting to watch these vlogs and haven't taken the opportunity until now!! Hubs and I are going on a 14 night SE Asia from Hong Kong to Singapore in November!! I'm hoping to fly in by November 7th as embarkation day is November 9th. Hong Kong looks amazing, but I think Hubby is more excited about Vietnam (4 ports!) Made a list for Hong Kong!
I LOVE that you're going! Vietnam is cool- bustling and dirty, but cool!
Wow! I’m inspired to make this trip with my family!!
I'm a bit behind in viewing your vlogs...but man, what an awesome cruise so far!! 👍 Would love to see Hong Kong some day.
Thanks, Erik. It was SUCH a cool and unique experience!

The garden is gorgeous
Oh my, what a great video. Mr. CruiseTipsTV does marvellous video taping, and the music is lovely. My sister and brother-in-law were in HK over Christmas and absolutely loved it. Your video was a pleasure to watch and makes us want to go too! Thanks to you both for sharing your experiences.
Well it's nice to get the pov from a tourist's eyes. I've been back and forth for thirty years and hate it. Admittedly I've never been to Nan Liang Garden, the Avenue of Comic Stars or maybe the Cuisine Royale. I think I've been up that glass elevator. Everything looks good from high above. But at street level? Ugh. But I bet if I suggested visiting these places, my wife's family or friends will just tell me it's too expensive or not worth the fuss. So all I see are the wet markets and the dirty grimy streets lined with construction garbage everywhere that's typical of Hong Kong.
If I were on a cruise, I'll probably feel differently because I know that by the end of the day, I'll be back someplace that's clean, doesn't smell of rotting fish and durian and has toilet paper.
Undereye Botox !!!!
