  • Hey cruisers!
    It's debarkation day, and we're visiting Singapore!
    Don't forget to check out reviews, tips and photos with our wonderful sponsor: cruiseline.com?
    Today is the last day of our life changing Asia Cruise. On this Diamond Princess cruise we covered 2800 nautical miles and visited Tokyo, Shimizu, Osaka, Taipei (Keelung), Hong Kong, Nha Trang & Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) Vietnam, and Singapore.
    We start off this morning's Princess cruise vlog with a quick breakfast in the main dining room as we gear up for a leisurely debarkation. Last night our son came down with a little flu bug, and we had to take him to the medical center. In the end it wasn't too serious, but it did put a damper on the evening. By mid-morning he was feeling much better, and we were all looking forward to seeing Changi Airport in Singapore. It was surprisingly easy to get a taxi from the the port. Our driver was super nice, and his car was pretty fancy. He offered us a city tour for a reasonable price, but the 3 hour minimum put it just out of our budget. The Changi airport is simply amazing. It's beautiful, clean, strangely quiet, and full of friendly staff eager to help. We were there for quite a while, but there was so much to see and do that the time flew by. Our son is a big Harry Potter fan, so we were delighted to see a huge Harry Potter exhibit shortly after we arrived. We may do an entire episode on Changi airport, but for now we'll just give you a peek of some of the outstanding features. There's a butterfly garden, a movie theatre, and tons of restaurants and shops. It is without a doubt the best airport we have ever visited. We really had a good time at the airport, and that is not something we say a lot. The flight home wasn't quite as fun. It was extremely long, but we knew it was going to be rough when we booked it. I mentioned in the beginning of this description that this was a life changing cruise, and while that may seem a little overboard, I stand by it. We spent quality time as a family, and got to experience simply amazing things together. We met wonderful people that made us feel welcome and reassured. Smiles, and laughter instantly broke down language barriers, and we left many ports feeling like we were leaving friends. It feels to me like this was literally an unforgettable cruise that will always be in our hearts. Thank you for joining us for this cruise vlog as we traveled Asia aboard the Diamond Princess.

Keep exploring and broadening your horizons because you'll never be able to see everything this world has to offer in 10 lifetimes, let alone the one we are gifted with...

    Great video. Singapore Changi Airport is truly #1 International airport for 6 years running, I have visited Singapore since 1988 and made my last trip number 19 on May 2019. I don't think you had a chance to see the new indoor waterfalls called the Jewel, that is mind-blowing and $1 Billion in the making. Singapore has something new every trip I make. 🇸🇬

    Like Hong Kong, Singapore is a place where I've been a dozen times but never actually left the airport, though our cruise did call in there, so I've seen a bit of the city on a day tour. Yes, there is a hotel airside and I've slept there a few times. Most of the rooms have no windows; turn off the light and it's pitch black, super great for sleeping but don't forget the alarm!
    A destination in itself. If I can I try to get at least a few hours in transit, though a lot of the flights from Australia pull in for refueling and there's barely enough time to walk to the lounge, get a shower and a meal, and hop back on the plane for another long leg. But when I have time, it's a fun place to explore, and shop, and eat, and people-watch. Therre are laundries and pharmacies and well, everything!
    They do that security thing and sit in a bare lounge before boarding at Doha as well. When i find one of these systems, I visit the toilet first because if the flight is delayed for any reason and my bladder keeps working, things can get tricky. Hot tip - arrive early and grab a seat near an electrical outlet, assuming you have an adapter and power cube.

    There are four terminals in Changi Airport. Terminal 3 is the best but terminal 4 is the newest. I learn that Singapore is going to build Terminal 5. By the way, you should check out the indoor waterfall in Jewel Changi. It’s awesome.

    i do so enjoy your videos...but it is incredibly unbelievable to me that you have gone on this incredible Asia trip and failed to see even a miniscule portion of what was at your doorstep. You flew into Tokyo and spent not a single moment in this incredible city. You had Chinese food in Japan! And Hong Kong? Did you get to the top of Victoria Peak? Singapore? The airport? Please tell me you're going back....

    • @CruiseTipsTV
      @CruiseTipsTV  5 років тому +1

      As we mentioned many times throughout the vlogs, we want to return, especially to Japan. Unfortunately, you only have one day on each port on a cruise vacation so you have to make choices. Our son was ill in Singapore, as we mentioned so we couldn’t tour the city. You can’t see everything in one day and we have limited vacation time.

    $55 taxi tour per hour and 3 hours minimum? This taxi driver is tried to rob you. 👎👎👎

      Yep, and that's why we didn't do it, and our son wasn't feeling well- there's that!
