Ruan, I have said this before, many times, but, I have to say so once again, I literally jump with excitement when I am alerted to watch your uploads! You are always so happy, positive and excited about life and sewing, I thoroughly enjoy your uploads, you add sparkle to my sewing room!😁😍
Wow, thank you! That's a lovely thing to say 😊
I agree!! Please look at the camera😉❤️🤗
Hi there - sorry not sure what you mean about looking at the camera?
Absolutely no idea, the reference made to look at the camera. You have our full attention always bright-eyed and bushy tailed! 🥰
LOL!!! "I don't need that negativity in my life right now..." this cracked me up I love it neither do I!
Same!!!😂
He he!
He he!
Thank you so much for supporting the challenge 💛💛 I love your ideas and hopefully i’ll see you at the weekend! ☺️
You’re more than welcome honey 💛
I love them all.
Me too 😂
Great ideas Ruan - just realised when started watching your vlog that I've missed the deadline 😹 I think a Freya in the mustard jersey would be gorgeous and with a black cord pinafore 👌
Thanks honey 😊
Thanks for the link to the hair straightener case. I'm going to make one too.
Oh good! 😊
I love them all!!!!!
Me too 😂
Really loved this overview as I was supposed to be going for the day and then down to Brighton for a couple of days but unfortunately didn’t come to pass 😢 So this helps me enjoy from my sofa in Northern Ireland 🥰
Oh sorry to hear that! 😢
Ruan, the fabric at 10:21 has the pattern of a traditional Hungarian embroidery, called “kalocsai”. It is interesting to see a print of it, especially in a foreign country. How lovely
Oh really? It’s so beautiful 😍
Hi Ruan, I think your ideas for the Freya and the Seasons of East tops are lovely, I hope you go with one of those. ❤❤
I think you’ll be happy when I reveal then 😉
I think the Seasons of East top would look amazing in that fabric and a really quick sew. Since you've had your colours done can see how much your fabric choices suit you
Thank you 🤩
Sew… I had to watch the ads today. It had Ryan Gosling new movie trailer. And he’s so pretty. 😂😂😂😂
Yessssss…..he looks so good in the trailer doesn’t he 😍
@@theyorkshiresewgirl soooo good!
You are an official genius again. I thought i have no yellow to sew but have the joni fabric too! Thanks sweetie!
You are so welcome!
So sew love the Joni fabric godmother viscose. If I’m right I think Guthrie & Gani made the fibre mood tanita top with it which I have also made. It’s fab but lengthen as comes up short. It means u don’t break up that fab print.
It’s such a beautiful fabric isn’t it!
Numbers 4 or 5. Both fabrics make you bloom, just perfect for spring. Dark cord pinefore in autumn. Go girl show us the way. ❤
Thank you 😊
Love all of them but the last two would be great - I think the Freya top would look amazing made up with that fabric. Good luck Ruan.😊
Yes I love all of them!
That shade of blue looks Amazing on you!
Oh thank you!
Great idea to do quick simple sews as we are near the end of the challenge.
Yes - hope it helps!
Lovely to see you as usual Ruan 😃 So many lovely options for such a great challenge and cause. I love the two jersey fabrics and they would be fabulous in the seasons of east top.
Thanks so much! 😊
Great quick make ideas. Made mine 🎉 just have to remember to post it on Saturday!
Yay - well done you!
Lots of good choices! I do love the mustard pointelle fabric.
Me too!!
Omg the last 2 leopard fabrics are AWESOME!!! Either would make a beautiful statement dress, just a thought. Love you and your vlogs as always.
Oh thank you!
I like the 4th option fabric most on you but they are all nice. I haven’t made the Freya but like the cowl neck option. 😊
Thank you! 😊
You were just the ray of sunshine I needed today 😊
Aww thank you ☺️
I love how you did your sewing space.
My husband put screw type hooks to hang my rulers. That shelf could be good for all your small cutting pads
Thank you ☺️
I love your option two! That fabric is gorgeous ❤
Thank you! 😊
Your last selection is superduper! Make that one!
I wanted to make them all!
Hello, I love the viscose jersey that you got from Adam of Adam sews. It suits you well. You gave so many choices. Love it! Happy sewing.
Thanks so much!
Great picks Ruan! I love the last two fabrics and patterns, either would be lovely. Good luck with your choice❤
Thank you! 😊
I know I will love anything you make, Ruan! However, I NEED to see that gorgeous rainbow animal print made up for your straightener cover. Have fun deciding! 🌈💖
Already done ✔️ 👍🏼
I love your fabric choices and patterns for sewing for endo. I've made loads of Freya dresses and tops. It's my favourite pattern but your other pattern choice looks lovely too. I've made a flat iron case recently and although it turned out fine, I didn't have the proper insulation. I have since bought insulbrite and I'm going to make it again but this time for my sisters for presents for them. The fabric I'm going to use are liberty fat quarters that I got half price and they are beautiful. Love your video as usual and look forward to your next one. x
Oh those gifts sound amazing 😍
I have the mustard Pointelle and not sure what to make! Love the fabric choice for the seasons of east t-shirt. 💙🧶🌈🍓
I love the cami in the book and Love Love Love the fabric you've chosen. If you decide not to do this one for the challenge, you must make it some other time! I learned about SewYellowForEndo in an earlier video of yours and immediately sent a donation. I suffered terribly with endo from my early teens until I FINALLY reached menopause. Such a good cause. Thank you! I'm just setting up my sewing area again so I'll join the challenge next year!
So sorry you suffered with it 😖
Thanks Ruan you’ve just answered my question! I’ve decided to attempt to enter both challenges this month but if I make a quick bag for this one I might just do it 😬🤞🏼
You can do it!
I have known about endometriosis for many years but only because I have worked with women who have suffered horrendously and endured major surgery and infertility as a result. So wonderful this is being highlighted as I know women who are still struggling to get help after many years of suffering. Great inspiration as always. 😊 Lynne
Exactly Lynne - so good for raising awareness!
You are a shining star lady! ⭐️ xxx
Aww thank you!
Love plan 4 and 5 Ruan. That mustard looks great on you 😊 Lisa x 🇦🇺
Thank you Lisa x
I like choice 4 or 5 for you. I love this challange to raise awareness. I was diagnosed with Endo in 1970. I needed sirgery to conceive my children. It does go away at menopause. Thank goodness.
So sorry you had to go through that but glad to know you're feeling better now x
You posted 8 hours ago , you have probably finished your yellow garment by now, but I love that last fabric. So bright and happy 😁
They’re all so lovely aren’t they 😍
I think number 4 would be great ❤
Thanks!
I think you should do Option 3 - The Flat Iron Holder. Useful and not more clothing.
I did it and I love it!
Ruan, I need to say that it is very good you didn’t need to know about it. I’ve lived with it my entire life…. And am always happy to know that people don’t know what that don’t know for good reasons.
I have an amazing lady in New Zealand that is helping with me thru my pause that kinda really starts the second yoj have endo cause you really already have messed up hormones. I’d love something done for PCOS cause my daughter was diagnosed with that last year. The sister the endo. And she will undoubtedly get endo too. She asked if she could not sign up for it. I chuckled. She’s only 17. It took a friend at work watch me cripple over the desk to mention this. And boom she was right. I’m a massive talk about this stuff cause you just don’t know what ya don’t know eh🙄
I LOVE the white version of the flowers. Option number two.
Is your cord have knots in it???? What is you cover that one. It has the heating mat part in it Ohhh you have the heat stuff Oh dear those fabrics for that look awesome. Nice match for it eh. Front or where they sit do the dark. The white in the back that you see when you roll up.
Make them all. 😂
🦩💕💖💖🦩
So sorry to hear of your experience with it 😢
@@theyorkshiresewgirl ahh thank you. I’m who I am babe 💖
Such hard decisions Ruan, but I think and hope you went for the yellow and blue with seasons of east. It would look gorgeous. Thanks for brightening my day
I certainly did! 😊
That mustard fabric is wonderful on you Use it!
Oh thank you!
Hi Ruan, I’ve got the same mustard pointelle and I’ve just cut out the Nell t shirt from Dressmakers closet. It’s a speedy make too… look forward to seeing what you make Ruan
Ooh lovely. It’s such a gorgeous fabric 😍
Lovely project ideas honey xx
Thanks lovely x
Hi Ruan...I love your selections. I think #2 is my favorite, as I love the floral print and the pattern is one you can whip up quickly. Looking forward to seeing what you decide. Happy Sewing!
Thanks so much!
Hi Ruan, I made a yellow flower skirt!😅
Ooh - how lovely 💛
P.S. love your paperclips!!!
They're so cute aren't they!
Talk about influencers dream- already ordered some !!! 😂🙈
Myself and my daughter have this. She recently had horrendous C section because of the scarring. Now my 10yr old granddaughter is heading that way too 😔
Oh I’m so sorry to hear this 😔
💛
💖
Season of east
👍🏼
I love the idea with the pinafore dress! I’ve been wanting to make one out of a thick cord but thinking maybe it’s the wrong time of year to get into that now 😅
Do you have a pattern in mind? I’ve got Tilly’s book that has a pinafore dress pattern but have heard the drafting on that one isn’t that great so not sure if I want to risk it..
Nothing in mind just yet!
That seasons of East Top Ruan Deffo.
👍
I think the seasons of east top would be super. I gave those 2 SHJ fabrics. Can never decide what to do with the pointelle fabric. You did also make me laugh with the 'quick make' bit. I would need to do an fba with all of those, if I made a straight sized one, it would be falling off my shoulder. That neckline on the season of east, would reach me elbow and probably be indecent 😂
He he - yes! I'm very lucky not to have to worry about that side of things!!
Hi Ruan, my waist measurement tends to push me up at least one size so you're not the only one! Is the waist measurement that important for the Eucalypt? From the picture it looks quite straight from bust to hip. The Freya would look great in that fabric (I have the book and have made the Bibi and Joni but have shyed away from the Freya as I frequently feel a bit strangled in high necks). The packaging on the Seasons of East pattern looks lovely (and good for putting the bits back in when you've taken them out).
Glad it’s not just me! Yes the eucalypt is quite straight down so would probably grade it out x
Ruan, can you confirm if the contest is open to the USA? And thanks so much for your content❤
Hi there yes it’s international 🤩
I couldn't wear the off-the-shoulder top. It would irritate me beyond words! I'd keep wanting to straighten it up! When I see Adele wearing hers, I want her to straighten it up too! Symmetry must be in my genes! I'm making a little, yellow gingham top for my granddaughter.
He he. Best get ready to want to straighten me up then 🤪
xXX 👍👍👍
☺️
Named is a Finnish company, so a lot of their patterns have Finnish names. Sorja is pronounced "sor-ya" with the "ya" pronounced like you would in "yarrow".
Yes I knew they were Finnish but still had no idea how to pronounce 🙈. Thank you x
@@theyorkshiresewgirl no worries! I guessed you would likely know, but I like sharing in their glory like that anyway 😁
I don’t need that negativity I my life right now either. Not measuring my waist right now!
😂😂. Glad it’s not just me!
