I've read the root can be chewed for toothaches and a tea from the leaves are good to break a high fever.
I've heard the same thing!
Good for stomach
I make a tea
Thank you. I just made comfrey salve last fall for the first time. It is a miracle. I'm looking forward to trying yarrow salve this spring/summer. Our mosquitos are the size of robins
Hello! What do you use the comfrey salve for? I have some I want to make into salve
If you eat Garlic, it repels mosquitoes
😅
I have some drying for tea as well as some marinating in oil …I prefer the long term infusion method as opposed to infusing it in oil more quickly……I’ll be making salve in a few weeks.
What a great idea with the Instant Pot yogurt setting!
I used to have a yogurt maker by Sutton. Individual jars. I need another one.
Since the Holiday Farm Fire in Oregon Yarrow has become very abundant in my yard. I am excited to try this thank you
You might get some fireweed growing too, which is also medicinal 👍
@@jimmyrustler8983 I have plenty of that also!
i harvested and dried a lot of common yarrow last summer. Now I know what i'm doing with it!
Cool!
Great no bees wax. Plantain salve would be good for a bite to draw out the poison I think.
Thanks for your unique take on this ancient plant. Mosquito repellent is a new idea for me !thanks 😊
Love your elderberry in the back ground
Thanks!
I would not use sunflower oil. Avocado oil is better.
Infused some this week and it was a very dark green. So lovely to see
I use Yarrow in numerous way salve, tea, and skin care. I even like smell for perfume use.
These grow everywhere here in Colorado, especially in the mountains/ sub alpine
Thanks for sharing.
That was very interesting. Thank you for sharing
We have yarrow in our garden. I'm going to try this salve. Thanks! 👍😎🇨🇦💮🌿
Love your presentation 🎉
Yes, the strongest yarrow I ever harvested was growing by the beach
Thanks for the good info on Yarrow. 💞
Kept getting sores in my nose while bicycle touring on Trans Canada highway and the salt that is used for ice was drying and cracking the inside of my nose .. just crushed up the young leaves and stuffed it in my nose ... pain was gone immediately.
Intapot brilliant idea
August 2023,
Hi, I've watched your video from the Kingdom of Belgium, EUROPE.
English is not Mother tong!
I found it very interesting, I know this plant as a medicin purpose and I also use it for flowers compositions.
But, if you permit me to tell you somthing, without hurting your sensibility, the debit of your voice is much to fast, for a french speaker.
Thank you,for your clear explanations and your good mood!
Take care, have a nice day.
Violette
This grows all over my organic farm. Didn’t know about this Thanks. I have the yellow yarrow
I’ve read from multiple sources that the yellow variety should not be used internally
Yes, no hybrid yellow. It's different if you look at it too.
Great info! thank you.
Looks like a good product to have
It is very nice to have.
@@TheWildYam And so easy to make.Any plans for a canoe trip? Or is your heart condition still a concern
Great Info There ! Many Thanks Jen, Have A Swell Week ! ATB T God Bless
I was expecting beeswax. I’m super impressed. Thank you!
Going to have to try this
Please do! Thanks for watching.
Nicely done video...🤙
Thanks Jen great video 👍.
Thanks for the info. I definitely could tell the difference from Queen Anne's Lace (wild carrot) and yarrow, but yarrow and hemlock weed I'm not 100% sure. Have you every tried to distil essential oils? How are your mushroom logs going?
Thank you NewSubscriber loved video
So I can use Insta Pot to Infuse my Oils. Thank You❤❤❤
Thanks Jen great info 👍👍
Using the instant pot is perfect idea!!
That was great, thank you!
You're welcome!
That was a really cool video!! Can one use sweet almond oil instead of sunflower oil?
Yes, you could try it.
Love your presentation,I was just wondering if I could use tallow and instead shea butter
Yes
Great stuff CJ!👍😃✌️
Loved your video! I subbed your channel
What about the flowers
Can you use dried yarrow in this recipe? If so, how do you alter recipe, since they are showing a fresh yarrow plant in the oil??
Maybe not enough leaf to oil ratio, not at all putting down how you did it. I was just always under the impression you needed like a 3/4 part to 1 part leaf to oil ratio.
I find the waiting difficult
Very interesting, but why aren't you using the flowers ? I thought that infused oil with flowers would be more "stronger"...
Thank you
jenn not knowledgable of many plants but..... is the queen annes lace plant also a yarrow? they def look alot alike.....if so i got it all around my yrd too i love the smell of it ;];];] could that also be used as a salve? great video ;];];] have a good day;];];]
Queen Anne's Lace and Yarrow are different plants with different uses. Some make a salve from Queen Anne's lace. I haven't though.
@@TheWildYam thank u jenn good to know;];];];]
Hello can i make a root yarrow oil for tooth aches ,thx 🎉🎉🎉
What about just using coconut oil since it will cool to a solid state anyway?
Sounds good!
@@TheWildYam Do I have to use oil at all? What about pure Shea butter melted?thank you for your time.
For tea will dried leaves and flowers
I ordered seeds to grow it so I can get acquainted with it
We have that all over our fields here. My parents always told me id get chiggers from it so stay out. Lol hmmm
That s funny the chiggers are from going out in the field. Not the Yarrow. In-case you don't know already, you can get some powered sufler get like an old sock or rag and just power yourself up to your knees allover your shoes pant legs ect. Makes a huge difference and keeps chiggers off. What a nightmare they can be!!! Stuff stinks, but ill use it any day over those chigger bites! I love how the solution is right with the problem.
Mornin..👋😎👍
Hey!
sorry i had to stop watching when she added the sunflower oil, so toxic to the body!
Can this salve be used as lip balm?
I’d like to make this soon. I can see the whites of his flowers just starting to show. Would you add red in with the white yarrow? And what about adding lavender, lemon balm, Tyme or echinacea to the mix?
I make that but have to buy dried yarrow too make. I add a bit of bees wax to help set it up.
That sounds perfect!
I have the dried yarrow as well. Do you follow this recipe? Or is it a different process when using dry?
@@LoriM1959 I just put the dried in a pan maybe two inches deep of a 12x12 pan and add oil enough to cover the yarrow. I really dont measure. As long as the yarrow is covered. I let sit in a window for a few weeks then strain. Then melt my beeswax to mix in to firm up like a salve.
@@beverlymichael5830 thank you for the tip. Can you also put The dried yarrow in a mason jar, cover with oil, as opposed to a large sheet?
@@LoriM1959 I just like to use a small cake pan 12x12. You can easily make sure yarrow stays covered in oil It just seems like it would be harder in a deep jar. And there is more surface to be exposed to the sun in a window.
Wer can I get some of this
That’s awesome I’ve never tried it without beeswax but I think I will now. Thanks for sharing 👏
Hi Tammy, I'm curious about how you used yarrow with beeswax? Did you make a salve or something else? TIA
Yes all my salves I make are with beeswax and some I also add Shea butter and coconut oil or just Shea butter and beeswax ones are my favorite. You can check my channel I have a video on my method.
Jen can i use coconut oil or olive oil?
Yes
What if you have powered yarrow? Could you still use it?
I've got yarrow tincture and yarrow oil soaking right now.
Awesome!
what to do with the flowers? thanks for the info. my backyard is full of yarrow.
ive planted some yarrow and want to make a balm out of them , but have left it too late ive no flowers just the leaves , and i think the frost will be here before the flowers , can i still make the balm with the leaves
I have an Instant Pot but it doesn't have a Yogurt setting. Any suggestions?
I would do the slow infusion method. Basically, you dry yarrow leaves and place them in the oil in a jar in a sunny window for 3-6 weeks.
Thanks!
Does it grow in Tropical climates?
Zones 3-9
You do not use the flowers?
Would this heal inflamed red splotches on face? Its not acne. Try it right?
I searched for wild yarrow and found none. Have to buy seed. I dont think domestic anything as good but better than nothing. I made dandelion flower tincture this year.
Can i do this with dried yarrow
Where did you get that shea from?
A friend but you can get it from a store.
**what about the Medicinal herbs like Cannabis** . .Show us P L E A S E. 😊
Not recommended for Pregnant Women,
Is the yellow yarrow that grows in Europe the same as the white?
I have some that has been drying for over a year like hang drying. Can I use that?
This rattling intro....
Ofcourse you have a mosquito bite. 🦟
