Fun fact: During Radhans fight you can summon lots of different NPCs to help you, one of them is Patches. When he is summoned he will literally realise what’s going on and return to his own world 🤦🏻♂️😂
Fun fact about Radahn: he knew that he was going to become a big guy, I mean giant like. So he spent all his young days learning gravity magic so he can keep his frail horse by his side. And you can check his lore for this.
Another funny thing about this boss though is that patches is completely useless.... Runs right up to him then just pretty much says "FUCK THIS SHIT! I'm out" and then leaves

You can walk in wearing no armor and no weapons and then equip everything after he becomes you with no armor and no weapons. That said, the boss is usually fairly easy anyways since you are probably most familiar with your own weapons moveset and weaknesses above all else. Just thought that was cool.
Except if you're a mage. Me and a friend bugged this boss. So my friend was the host and I was the summon, he went in the arena and stayed back (we were like "I'm gonna fight your mimic tear solo and you fight mine solo") and I rushed ahead, and managed to hit the mimic tear while it was still a blob. When the blob transformed, it transformed into a random guy with random equipments that neither me nor my friend had.

This is the difference between "accessible" and "easy mode". Most of the Souls-Borne fans that I know play these games for the sheer joy of discovery and the satisfaction of killing something, the harder the better. But, these are the level or "golden path" bosses, they won't stop me from continuing to enjoy the game. A true masterpiece. For anyone who is struggling, "easy mode" is playing Astrologer. POTENTIALLY, if you have the appetite for games like Horizon or Returnal, Prisoner is also a decent option to get your feet wet. (But low key if you beat Returnal, you got this)
I agree, I play Astrologer. I played a melee build in DS3. Although mage doesn't always mean easy boss it does make everything else WAY easier. And that's a fact.
the naturalborne of the void is the boss I probably know best at this point because of how many times I speedran just doing all of Ranni's quest. but fuck that big AOE gravity attack, to avoid getting killed by it in the speedrun you have to absolutely not attack more than twice per opening, and you have to have been next to him to be able to get those two attacks off, if you arent, you either have to try to get a cheeky attack and risk that AOE or stay away until you know you're clear.
If there were ever an opportunity to jump into a Souls game, Elden Ring is it. It loads quickly, there's basically 'checkpoints' all over the place, and you aren't locked in to most boss encounters
the mimic tear is actually so useful, it trivializes bosses and was even the reason i could beat malenia "alone." if you both use a katana you just proc so much bleed on everything, not to mention how tanky the mimic tear is at max level, taking aggro off you
Through the first half of this list I was very unsure, and I still feel like there's been some snubs to the dragonlords and Mogh (LoB variety), most of my favourites are mentioned somewhere in this video, so fair play! (Minor thing, deeproot depths is actually the ruins of a third, nameless eternal city!)
quick note: patches doesn’t only just sell you a bunch of junk he actually sells you the cook book that lets you craft golden pickled fowls feet, which boosts the amount of runes you get from each enemy if you plan on playing to Rune level 350 or higher that cook book is a must have
From Software should just make a dedicated horror game already - everything in Elden Ring so far gives me an impression that they're aching to make a really good horror game
While this video might have spoilers the scenery itself should give you a good idea how vast and breath taking the world can be and i only ventured through Limgrave and Weeping Peninsula and tried to complete everything in the area before going forward
"One of the best" :D good one. Its completely broken. At +10 its basically stronger than a lvl 100 player and tanks about 1 million damage. Its actually nuts how broken it is. Makes almost every future fight a joke considering he can facetank everything and still does almost as much damage as you yourself...
@@tim1585 I didn't go into NG+ , I started a new character, faith caster this time without any summons. Wanna have the purist experience :D gonna regret it at some point but whatever
Tip for Malenia, Bleed and Mimic tear. That's it, really. She can be hit stunned provided she isn't doing certain attacks, so if you and the mimic beat on her enough you'll find she goes down a little easier than you'd think. I used a maxed out Flamberge and got her in about an hour and a half. That being said, she does have an aoe whirl wind attack that can be life ending very easily. If she does it on the mimic it's fine provided you've levelled it up. If she does it on you, however, well the only success I've found is to block the first aoe and dodge the next 2 since they're telegraphed and less dangerous overall. And uh, luck. Bit of luck.
Didnt know there was a boss version of wormface and godskin, my first encounters were a wormface near a village close to Volcano Manor and a godskin on the bridge of the academy where Ranni's gift sends you, both were very interesting experiences
Isn't Radahn actually a major Boss? Cause you get the thing to chose one of his weapons, just like Godrick. And the campfires point to it's location. He also has a cinematic, which is usually for main bosses
All the shardbearers and silver achievement bosses have cinematics, but not all of them are mandatory, tho I thought Radahn and Rykard was mandatory, but apperantly not
You forgot to say that you can attack patches after he gives up, then he actually starts fighting good and he even heals himself. Once you beat him though you get his spear which is +7 so it’s actually really good.
I don't know what triggers the whole Radhan Festival, I'm pretty sure if you go to Redmane Castle first; like if you get caught in certain teleporter trap, cough cough; there's actually mobs inside...
Also fun fact : At war master’s shack there are also two optional boss : - set it to midnight 1. Go to little down right from warmaster shacks to a ruin site surround by giants 2. Set pass time to midnight and rest again , you will see npc will disappear then go inside the house and you will find yourself a Sith Lord
yeah i love how they promote cooperation very well in this game. Its so easy to get the mats to summon someone. You also kinda wanna show off your skills to those, so you want to be summoned too (and you get loot too)
i love these old videos because they dont mention a lot of the truly magnificent hidden ones showing just how big this game is that even journalists dont know about them
it's amazing how these huge bosses, with their own unique mechanics and awesome designs, are all "optional". You can go through the whole game without even knowing some of those are lurking somewhere dark. There are 4 bosses and a HUGE amazing area in a secret place I completely missed in my first playthrough just because I didn't check some corner in Nokron. Just best game ever.
@@nathreetimesnineequalstwen7172 there a huge area i missed the first time I played, where that rare crisom knight boss is. The one thar drops that cool set. To get there you need to drop on a ledge in Nokron. Is easy to miss.
I mean if you just follow the desired route you would be at level 120 or 130 and would finish the game without any difficulty, except for Melina she is crazy
I loved the spirit-caller snail! It was a unique boss and another example of the fun deception FromSoft often puts into their games that unfortunately can only be experienced once.
I didn't know you could just hunt the snail... Downed the Spirit Warrior twice, which reveals a stunned snail, and if you get there quick enough you can do 4-5 hits on him before he teleports away
Nah the Midsommar reference for Dominula deserves a like alone man , i though i was the only one who immediately though of this when i first came to this place ! Great video !
This is definitely one of the best games I have ever played. Hard as hell though! Myself and 2 other people got completely destroyed by that bastard Godrick.
Not sure if you've beat him by now but I gotta UA-cam video on beating him that might help...just dodge everything and when he does his flame attack rush up to him and attack.
Fun fact: Radahn can ride that little skinny horse because he is using gravity magic to make himself lighter, so the horse can move with him riding. You can see this if you look at his feet (that's how I realised) because he has a bit of a purple glow on them
Hey gameranx guys would you ever do a 20 min vid series on your 10 favorite games of all time it would be cool to see jake falcon and Andrew (the new guy) favorite games and why you all love them
What I like about the Elden Ring Boss is that unlike bosses from other games, these bosses fight you with their full power and thus the difficulty show how big the difference in power between you and them are and how powerful they are compared to the other bosses which is why a fight against Godrick doesn't feel like a fight against Radahn which is said to be the most powerful of the demi gods
Radahn castle is only cleared out if you’ve completed the manor in the lakes… in fact… if the castle is cleared out, you’ve just missed another optional boss, as that boss is only available if the castle is still guarded. Not to mention if you choose not to fight Radahn, you miss on fighting the mimic tear too… There’s a reason Radahn isn’t really an “optional” boss… he has a lot attached to him.
You best believe I killed Patches. I put him on the dirt and then he started begging, but I didn't let him get two words out before I put him IN the dirt. The loot is mine, all mine. I started out as a bandit and I'm stickin' to it.

I've been watching gameranx for years, and you guys still continue to be my favorite channel! The fact that elden ring made it Into my top 5 of all time makes me love this channel even more! Thank you gameranx!
(But low key if you beat Returnal, you got this)
No...no it isnt. Theres plenty of bosses that would straight up ruin any astrologer
returnal is easier than elden ring ngl...
I agree, I play Astrologer. I played a melee build in DS3. Although mage doesn't always mean easy boss it does make everything else WAY easier. And that's a fact.
@@xylan9543 Totally agree.
Yeah my friend chose mage, and there’s some encounters that really mess him up more than it would to a melee player
Defecting Radhans felt more like a boss fight that was required to move on in the story
The Regal Ancestral Spirit was my favorite of the two. More challenging fight with amazing music.
the naturalborne of the void is the boss I probably know best at this point because of how many times I speedran just doing all of Ranni's quest. but fuck that big AOE gravity attack, to avoid getting killed by it in the speedrun you have to absolutely not attack more than twice per opening, and you have to have been next to him to be able to get those two attacks off, if you arent, you either have to try to get a cheeky attack and risk that AOE or stay away until you know you're clear.
Man I've never been so tempted to pick up and play a souls Bourne game. God this game looks amazing
I just got it yesterday. Do yourself a favor and go play DS3 first. It's cheaper now and it's a great game to help you on your Souls journey
You really should pick it up, it will suck you in and next thing you know you've been playing 24 hours after having the game for 3 days lol
I suck at soulsborne games but Elden Ring is much more accessible than past titles tho
@@Zathren on the ps store, ds3 Is still 60 bucks. Can you believe that?
If there were ever an opportunity to jump into a Souls game, Elden Ring is it. It loads quickly, there's basically 'checkpoints' all over the place, and you aren't locked in to most boss encounters
That ancestor spirit fight with the soundtrack is just amazing! 🤩
the mimic tear is actually so useful, it trivializes bosses and was even the reason i could beat malenia "alone." if you both use a katana you just proc so much bleed on everything, not to mention how tanky the mimic tear is at max level, taking aggro off you
Your mimic will also use any spells and items on your bar minus flasks so you can really tailor him to any fight it makes the entire game a joke
@@bobbyvandyke143 yep!
Through the first half of this list I was very unsure, and I still feel like there's been some snubs to the dragonlords and Mogh (LoB variety), most of my favourites are mentioned somewhere in this video, so fair play!
(Minor thing, deeproot depths is actually the ruins of a third, nameless eternal city!)
this game is lowkey the best ever
quick note: patches doesn’t only just sell you a bunch of junk he actually sells you the cook book that lets you craft golden pickled fowls feet, which boosts the amount of runes you get from each enemy if you plan on playing to Rune level 350 or higher that cook book is a must have
Leonard is the real mvp of the entire game
From Software should just make a dedicated horror game already - everything in Elden Ring so far gives me an impression that they're aching to make a really good horror game
Bloodborne: Am I a joke to you?
Deracine is a Fromsoft horror game
if you have a playstation check out bloodborne.
kuon you're probably a toddler back then
Umm they already did a horror game called Bloodborne and it’s incredible.
While this video might have spoilers the scenery itself should give you a good idea how vast and breath taking the world can be and i only ventured through Limgrave and Weeping Peninsula and tried to complete everything in the area before going forward
You can actually get the ashes to summon the Mimic Tear a little bit after the boss fight, easily one of the best summons in the game.
I feel like it is the best especially how durable it is and how it spams skills
"One of the best" :D good one. Its completely broken. At +10 its basically stronger than a lvl 100 player and tanks about 1 million damage. Its actually nuts how broken it is. Makes almost every future fight a joke considering he can facetank everything and still does almost as much damage as you yourself...
@@svenr.3803 Everyone talking about how hard melenia is and I just styled on her by stomping repeatedly
@@svenr.3803 i am over lvl 200 and the mimic still is kinda stronger xD that thing can solo entire bosses easy
Astel is easily the coolest boss encounter I've ever seen
He's a real twat too fight though. Gives a cool flail however.
@@A_Black_Sheep94 depends on build you play he is a great boss visually but mechanically he isn't that hard
Isn't Radahn actually a major Boss? Cause you get the thing to chose one of his weapons, just like Godrick. And the campfires point to it's location. He also has a cinematic, which is usually for main bosses
Also the lord of blasphemy is a major boss also
He’s optional. You only have to fight Rykkard or Radahn, not both.
All the shardbearers and silver achievement bosses have cinematics, but not all of them are mandatory, tho I thought Radahn and Rykard was mandatory, but apperantly not
I'm pretty sure you only need 2 of them 4 main remembrances to get into the capital, not all 4.
No boss is optional when you are a completionist.
-Jeff Bezos
Also fun fact :
At war master’s shack there are also two optional boss :
- set it to midnight
1. Go to little down right from warmaster shacks to a ruin site surround by giants
2. Set pass time to midnight and rest again , you will see npc will disappear then go inside the house and you will find yourself a Sith Lord
There's a night boss at the church of vows too
Astel is a dobsonfly insect, Miyazaki really outdone with the grotesque design in this game.
You unequip everything before mimic, you fight a base character, for us Wretch, it’s a birthday suit party.
I was worried one of these bosses would be one I hadn’t found yet, but I’m glad nothings been spoiled for me.
Ancestral Spirit fight really stood out to me as well! This game is AMAZING!! 🙌🙌🙌
My favorite fight.
The small golden effigy makes soul farming and helping others so easy I love it
yeah i love how they promote cooperation very well in this game. Its so easy to get the mats to summon someone. You also kinda wanna show off your skills to those, so you want to be summoned too (and you get loot too)
Effigy? Its a scarab medallion

“Like they came right out of Midsommer” was literally thinking that exact thing😂
i love these old videos because they dont mention a lot of the truly magnificent hidden ones showing just how big this game is that even journalists dont know about them
The bosses are just unique
it's amazing how these huge bosses, with their own unique mechanics and awesome designs, are all "optional". You can go through the whole game without even knowing some of those are lurking somewhere dark. There are 4 bosses and a HUGE amazing area in a secret place I completely missed in my first playthrough just because I didn't check some corner in Nokron.
Just best game ever.
What bosses in Nokron?
@@nathreetimesnineequalstwen7172 do u want me to spoil it for u?
@@fos8789 I already be the game, don't know if I missed something in Nokron
@@nathreetimesnineequalstwen7172 there a huge area i missed the first time I played, where that rare crisom knight boss is. The one thar drops that cool set. To get there you need to drop on a ledge in Nokron. Is easy to miss.
@@fos8789 the one that leads to the 2x Gargoyle Fight? Yeah, I fought the Crucible Knight already, he flew out the room killing himself... XD
Those are some awesome bosses! Just one question would it be a soul's game if Patches wasn't in it?
No it wouldn't :) except Sekiro, but that's an exception
I mean if you just follow the desired route you would be at level 120 or 130 and would finish the game without any difficulty, except for Melina she is crazy
On the spirit caller snail, I saw a message saying beware of snail, then seeing the enemy, I was super confused, and then snail.
I think mohg is also a great one for people to experience at least once
I loved the spirit-caller snail!
It was a unique boss and another example of the fun deception FromSoft often puts into their games that unfortunately can only be experienced once.
I didn't know you could just hunt the snail... Downed the Spirit Warrior twice, which reveals a stunned snail, and if you get there quick enough you can do 4-5 hits on him before he teleports away
Pls keep Elden Ring content coming, so helpful also makes me happy.
Wormface reminds me of the poison enemies that you encounter in old yharnam
im so happy that ive fought all of these and won while being in my first play through. The last one was by far the hardest for me
I’m so in love with this game and it’s amazing bosses
Indeed they're many awesome bosses in Elden Ring, can't wait to encounter all of them 😎
Malenia has been the hardest boss fight so far.
I enjoy that I'm blindly going through Elden Ring currently and found alot of these guys
Nah the Midsommar reference for Dominula deserves a like alone man , i though i was the only one who immediately though of this when i first came to this place ! Great video !
I actually did kill the ghostly tree knight. Had a summon hold aggro and hit the butt. Then the snail showed up on his own.
Yeah feels good to be gud
He might be resistance to physical damage being ghost and all
@@arya.n.8252 I have a full physical build tho. I don't even think I'm that good, just pointing out it can die.
I fought the snail caster at like level 70 something so I actually didn't have too much trouble with the spirits they summoned. 🤷♂️
shouldve added Elemer of the Briar in here too, he drops a super cool legendary sword and his fight is pretty hard.
Falcon: These bosses are hard
Casters: hold ones ale
Elden Ring got it right. Back to the days of true exploration and using clues to find progress in quest

If you think Godrick is hard. Boy oh boy do you have a nightmare ahead when you fight Radahn
@@_questdbz That's fine, it's what I expect from these games
3:20 Radahn actually went all the way to learn gravitational sorceries just so he can ride his little horse, wholesome dude indeed.
Fun fact: Radahn can ride that little skinny horse because he is using gravity magic to make himself lighter, so the horse can move with him riding. You can see this if you look at his feet (that's how I realised) because he has a bit of a purple glow on them
also his soul straight up tells you this
Fun fact for those who beat Astel: Theres actually 2 of him in the game. Have fun finding the second version :)
Second one waay tankier
I only found the 2nd one. Played for like 300 hrs and never seen lake of rot.
I personally feel like number 10 could be very easily missed.
It's basically just a witches of hemwick reskin
Unless you're all about some Ranni
Hey gameranx guys would you ever do a 20 min vid series on your 10 favorite games of all time it would be cool to see jake falcon and Andrew (the new guy) favorite games and why you all love them
Thanks for the suggestion
What I like about the Elden Ring Boss is that unlike bosses from other games, these bosses fight you with their full power and thus the difficulty show how big the difference in power between you and them are and how powerful they are compared to the other bosses which is why a fight against Godrick doesn't feel like a fight against Radahn which is said to be the most powerful of the demi gods
I love this game
I love that Radhan's horse is in the thumbnail! Lol it made me laugh so much to see him on the tiny horse during the boss fight.
