Malaysian chinese can speak better malay than some of them 😅✌🏼... this is just strange for a malay malaysian to watch
Kan? I think because of the fact that we use a well blended rojak language, so much so that basic words like "recycle" or "hawker" becomes forgotten. Kalau dia tanya aku pon aku geleng kepala.
@@Oscarizxc recycle tk la kot..... Sebb biasanya recycle kita panggil kitar semula..... Tpi medan tu maybe
Tu sebabnya jangan amalkan bahase rojak tu, memang rosak, memang la konon nampak cool & trendy la tapi, lama² akan jadi biasa dan lupa pada bahasa asal. Dorang, nak cakap bekas makanan pun garu kepale, sebegitu teruk.
@GOSWK TV Bdak2 wechat reti jerr guna bhsa melayu lgi, cuma bila dorg pkai wechat dorg kene eja pelik2 ckit sebb wechat tkle chat dlm bhsa melayu, kalo tk perkataan tu jdi error sebbtu dorg English-fied bhsa melayu supaya wechat tk error kan prkataan tu..... But LKY himself was fluent in malay as well as his son, the incumbent PM. But I wonder whether PM after hsien loong can speak good malay or not.
Yes because we singaporeans have to compete globally with foreign talents and English is the common and international language to communicate. We don’t have resources but we only have manpower to bring up our economy. Hence, we have to learn english as it is key to compete globally.
Not idea what you're talking about. It is compulsory for all Singaporean schoolchildren to learn their respective mother tongues as a subject.
As a Bruneian Malay, this is definitely a refresher. We tend to overlook the Malay words and don't think about it till someone ask us about it by surprise. Thank you Tropic Monsters TV 👍🏻👍🏻
Doesn't Malay in Brunei frequently used as in Malaysia?or Is it English the official language like singapore?I rarely heard Bruneian not as famous as Singapore.
@@syafiqsahap2012 It is frequently used as Malay is our official language. What I meant above is that when we speak in Malay, we mix it a bit with some English word. Singapore has Singlish, we have Brunei English.

@@nabilahhalimi8745 omg me too but then i realized medan selera is food court 🤣... the cutlery one just sudu garfu for me😅
After graduating from secondary school, I have not been using bombastic words and peribahasa for such a long time🤣
Hahaha...me also struggle on cutlery...
🤣🤣🤣 I love your summoning of his Malay cigu spirit... classic
It all boils down to exposure and frequency of usage. Born in the 70’s, and the family nucleus lingua Franca, generally dictates the language or languages proficiency. In my time, family will still use mother tongue at home and in Singapore context, we mostly speak English outside of our home. Be it British English or Singlish. So naturally we are a proficient bi-language nation. Kids nowadays, be it any race in most family will mostly use English. In general terms, the kids nowadays, most of them will find their mother tongue challenging than the generation before. In other words, the language teacher who taught mother tongue for today generation are more stressed up than their predecessors.
Singapore
Where people can speak 2 language, but never good enough on either.
Crazy, how different one straits away can get
I'm proud of being a Malaysian! However, our English is not better than the Singaporean but we know more languages or dialects and better than the Singaporean actually!
Sad to see that their own mother tougue are lost in Singapore community!
Kan memalukan bangsa Cina pun x pandai bahasa cina.. mly pun.. mmm
Mmg pon, sedih yg melayu xtahu bahasa melayu, yg cina xtahu bahasa cina... Apa la benda sepatah dua je soalan.. 🤣🤣🤣
Comel je Farah Lola ni..video macam ni banyak membantu kita belajar bersama.. 😆 for the Chinese one I think I can do better even though my Mandarin is super basic 😂
As a Malaysian Chinese, I got all correct expect for the 3rd question. My answer was warung makanan.
Its correct too, whether warung makanan, medan selera, dewan selera all is correct
Betul weyh, container tuh kalau translate mesti ramai ckp tupperware😂😂😂 apooo
I think in Indonesian it would be
1. Bekal (Bekas means used/second-hand of someone)
2. Pengiriman (Pengantaran without letter H is also used but too formal and it is normally used for documents)
3. Daur ulang (Never heard of Kitar Semula)
4. Pujasera (Pusat Penjaja Makanan can be understood, just sound a bit archaic)
5. Peralatan makan (this one is exactly same)
Except for number 5 it is amazing to know it is very different words altogether for answer number 1 to 4 in Malay in Singapore and in Indonesia.
I think the correct term for container in Bahasa Indonesia is "wadah", we do usually say "wadah bekal" which also means "lunch box" 👍
Bekas also means second hand, or ex of smtg or someone in the Malay used in Malaysia and Singapore
Pengiriman is understood as delivery too
So fun and enjoyable to watch this !
👏
i think to test malay languange is rather hard, just like exam at school, not because we bad at it la...
Hantar is the verb or the root word, Penghantaran is the noun. I don't know how teachers in Singapore teach them but in reading or saying something in Standard Malay, like the grey-shirt guy's sentences, you do not necessarily use baku pronunciation of 'a' at the end of words like "kitar semule, dunie kite, supaye kite". You can, but not necessary.
Thanks for the video, I like this BYOC initiative, I wish I can do like that too.
@@Hope-go2nd Of course I know that Singaporean speak Singaporean Sub-dialect of Johor-Riau dialect, just like KL, I don't know where did you find that "some non-Singaporean".
but your second paragraph answered my curiosity. In Malaysia, It's not a problem to use ..e ..e in Standard or Formal Malay for Oral Exam as long as we use good grammar, Just like Malaysian TV newsreader if you ever seen one. TQ.
Pronunciation of "kitar semule" etc is the Semenanjung way, East Malaysians still pronounce the "a". Please don't use Semenanjung standard to say "kitar semule" is the correct way. Are you saying all East Malaysians have the wrong way of pronouncing Malay? It's called accent my dear. Source: Sarawakian.
@@Angelus9015 I said ".....You can, but not necessary....." and I'm into Linguistic my fellow Malaysian, I am well aware of Kedahan, Sarawakian and Sabahan accents of ..a when reading. I took that into account, I did not say ..e ..e is the ONLY Standard way. nope. That's why there's nowhere in my comment said 'Standard Pronunciation' ("Sebutan Baku B. Melayu Rasmi"). 'Standard Malay' (Melayu Rasmi) here is 'Standard Spelling and Grammar of Malay'. My bad for not using 'Formal Speech Malay' instead. "Sebutan Baku Rasmi" will always be the one that DBP use in their speech or the SGrean school one. What I meant in the comments above is the Pronunciation of Radio RTM, Pembaca Berita TV, or even Pembaca Ikrar Rukun Negara Sambutan Hari Kebangsaan, hence they "can but not necessary" in our national norm.
@@solehsolehsoleh No. Your exact words were "You can, BUT NOT NECESSARY AND BETTER NOT". It's the last part that irks me. What do you mean by "it's not necessary" and "better not" to use our own accent as if the semenanjung accent is the "default" accent. That statement reeks of discrimination. You're into linguistic and yet so dismissive of other accents. Irony isn't it?
THE LEVEL OF CONFIDENT IN THE *TUPPERWARE* 🤣
quite good 💕
This is good initiative tho, hopes Malaysia can copy and do the same thing. Keep it up

Dekat sini aq boleh cakap yg aq bangga jadi rakyat malaysia .... malu lah bangsa sendiri x reti cakap bahasa Melayu hemmmm
Shah, u did soo well. Cikgu confirm proud of u.
Malaysia Chinese here, i can guess Kitar semula right away! It’s easy as we always write in malay essay.
