If they had played Monsters or almost anything else it would’ve fit better. That’s why I like N2 better. It was more balanced and overall jammed better.
The 46 days was my single favorite song from the festival and I thought night two rival game henge it’s so interesting how we subjectively experience this band. I mean it makes sense. They’re all over the place stylistically I think we all are the same as well.
Mike definitely teased Live & Let Die @ end of Destiny Unbound for a measure or two….!…. I heard a solo Mike show recently on LivePhish with Destiny Unbound where he teases it A Lot harder…..🤟🏼🖖🏼🤘🏼

I’m from the Toledo area. Thanks for the content. First phish show was ‘97 at the palace of Auburn hills…a bunch of Deer creek runs since then. A couple shows at Nutter Center in Dayton. More of a bluegrass dude these days but still love a great phish run. Thanks again man! 👏

Great recap! Can't get enough of "Hey Stranger". Mansfield night 1 version is fantastic. St. Louis night 2 version also an underrated jam IMO. I'm also listening to all the shows approaching Dick's. It's been a damn good tour. Keep up the great work Kev!
When the Alpine Simple finished, my buddies and I stood there knowing we just witnessed something special. It really was incredible. Fishman was a lunatic for 40 min straight.
Thanks for the summer recap man! I think the consensus will eventually agree with you (and me) that Deer Creek N3 was the best show of the summer, I think it’s pretty objective on that one. I think you’re underrating Bethel N1 and overrating a couple other shows, but we all have our own takes and that’s what’s best about this band. I personally think Mohegan N2 didn’t really have much other than the Fluffhead and Mikes With. Mohegan N1 is where the jams were on that run. I personally agree that Monde N1 is maybe the best full show from Monde, but people seem to disagree. I love Billy and Phish, but the Grand Rapids nights really didn’t click with me for some reason too. I also liked Mansfield N1 best from that run too. Overall it was a pretty incredible tour compared to the last few. Good takes on your part. Boom 👊

Fantastic wrap-up, Kevin. This tour was low on bustouts and covers and IMHO it didn't really matter. Pretty much every show was consistently well-considered, well-played versions of what they decided to do. Wishing them some quality time off after Dick's!
How have they not played Valdese? I think the new songs reppped pretty well for the tour. And how did we not get Monsters at Mondegreen? I feel like the set we didnt get would have delivered DWYS, Monsters and More. All the bangers. 😂

I went back and listened to all of them too. I loved that long Theme from the bottom I agree about the festival N1 was fantastic and the secret set is perhaps my single favorite thing phish has ever done. THOSE visuals enhanced the way great surrealistic imagery can do but not at the sphere overall I think they were making up for what great paintings can do to phish music. Monet and Salvatore Dali (only his surreal not his Picasso cubism nonsense) are my favorite painters of all time What a tour. I love Billy’s voice compared to Trey I could listen to him sing the chomper anthems like Possum all day long. He brought new life to a dead song and roadkill as did SPAC guest which was far superior to either night of Billy with Derek Both bluegrass but one was heavenly the other just fun I only disagree with you on the sphere being awesome. No it was cheesy looking. Look at that bathtub gin and say it is awesome and I will say you need to check your vision. The music was still great but no improvisation because it required planning ahead and a set in stone 4 night set which was cool with the Solid Liquid Steam (Gas) and Ether Edge Plamsa Cool idea but it was not phish’s fault for being a windows screen saver. That is the fault of Vegas I prefer CK5 and MGM Grand Vegas shows. I’m old school I guess Works as an IMAX movie theater only not a concert venue. I think the novelty will wear off and Vegas will be realizing in hindsight sight that they gambled it all on red and lost 2.6 billion dollars at least artistically if not financially. 7-21 7-27 7-30 8-3.
