    Novice painter with a cheap gun and had my air regulator just quit on me. No air. Final perfect heavy wet coat of clear and the air stopped leaving me dripping all over the hood. Nearly gave me a heart attack before I knew you can just sand them out. Appreciate it!

    I used to go from 800 through to 3000 but the customers never really appreciated the efforts I put in. Now I just 1500,2000 and buff. Little cheesy but good enough for a showable driver. Unless they want a show car finish and are willing to pay for my time.

    I LOVE the look after flow coating. I always do a final wash/scuff with dawn and grey scuff pad. Leaves it’s super clean and smooth. Awesome job sir. That walcom is a beast!

    Cam I have some tips, when I wet sand i do it until it looks good but when I buff it shows like scratches and was wondering if I just pressed down to hard when I wet sand or was it not enough water? Any tips or taughts..... I'm still new to this kind of work 😅

    • @ACDesignsGarage
      @ACDesignsGarage  Рік тому +1

      No problem, ill give you a couple of things that causes scratches. 1 when you first start sanding and sand off a piece of trash and it gets under the paper it can cause that so listen for that, 2 pressing to hard on the sand paper, always let the paper do the work. 3 dont jump up to fast on your grit, I usually start at 1000.then go to 1500 then 2000 then 2500 finally 3000 then buff. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions!!!!!!

    Awesome work bro. Did u use the software block on the entire car? I'm planning on using the same block but dry with k grit.

    • @ACDesignsGarage
      @ACDesignsGarage  Рік тому +1

      Mostly I use the dura block and it works pretty good. I use the super soft blocks on edges and corners, if you want use a hard block on the flat areas to help keep it flat. Hope this helps, I usually have a whole stack of blocks on my work table lol

    I wonder how much better it would be if you turn the pressure up on your gun more for less orange pill and slow reducer

    How many hours do you think you have in cut ,buff and polish work? trying to gauge for when I do mine thx

    • @ACDesignsGarage
      @ACDesignsGarage  2 роки тому

      I usually start at 1000 on a block to get it flat. The camaro took about 18 to 20 hours cutting from 1000 grit to 3000 grit. Then probably 15 to 20 hours buffing. Alot depends on how slick it lays down.

    How long do you leave it before flo coating

    • @ACDesignsGarage
      @ACDesignsGarage  Рік тому

      Usually a couple of days to make sure it has gassed off, then start wet sand blocking.

    How long did it take to block the whole car? Did you do the bodywork or just the paint?

    • @ACDesignsGarage
      @ACDesignsGarage  2 роки тому +1

      It took around 8 hours to block. We built the car from the ground up, roof skin, quaters ,floor pans, minitubs, everything but the VIN# lol. Look back at my channel I have several videos on it. Im gonna put together a play list on it.

    How much clear was on here prior to wet sanding ?

    • @ACDesignsGarage
      @ACDesignsGarage  9 місяців тому +1

      I usually put down 3 to 4 medium wet coats, so I have enough to cut down with out cutting through!!!

      @@ACDesignsGarage so if I’ve only got 2 down … I won’t be able to sand completely smooth is that ok ? To reapply more clear? I’m not sure what type of finish I’m looking to get too .. and don’t wanna scree it up
