That’s why I quit DoorDash, it’s no more money out there..
Fr tho
It not that. Doordash is pissed over the NY ruling.
@@EmmettFiawooJryea they think we’ll cut our losses in nyc and fuck everyone else’s pay to make the losses back, seen their stock lately?? 👀
The reality folks of you think it's bad no wait until a recession hits next year or when it hits people are not going to ordering $52 pizzas 😂
@@EmmettFiawooJrthey’re pissed they actually have to pay drivers instead of offering them a $2 trip that’ll take 30 mins
DD doesn’t care if there’s too many dashers, the more drivers out there the more likely someone will take the no tip orders.
I'm in Seattle. I just did my first evening of Door Dash. I worked a total of 4.5 hours, grossed $57.00 (before taxes lol), and burned up about $30.00 in gas.... The worst part for me was literally nobody tipped... Typical rude Seattle people for you...
Cost of living goes up, including inflation all over our grocery stores, more fees on delivery and student loans = 500,000 more dashers is my guess. Predicted this happening over a year ago and its here😥
Dencreases in base pay to $2
I predict that base pay will drop to $1 by the end of next year.
Yes, unlimited army of dashers, so they find new ways to lower our pay with each app update. Every area is different, but in my area the pay has dropped almost in half over the last three years.
is door dash forcing people to work the criminal/drunk shift?
Midweek dead periods for me are 2:30pm- 4:30pm. I usually turn the app off during that window and wait for the dinner shift.
Thanks for the insight
gradeschool in my area lets out at 3pm local time.. so I get a small surge about 4 ish in the afternooon for MkD's and cheap pizzas
I’m at 94% AR I went out today and declined 1 offer and went down to 87% then i accepted 7 and finally got back to 94%. Every single offer was garbage I put about 80 miles on the car, worked 4 hours all offers were between $2.50-$6.00 and upside down miles. I made $47 before replacing my gas. So much for high priority! All bs… I have been doing better with rideshare lately and even that sucks
What market are you in?
I thought it was just me, but it’s real Doordash has probably been allowing too many dashers to be active , sometimes I thought something is wrong with the apps and I keep refreshing and still nothing . I am a top Dasher and I feel I am not as busy starting since October. I would also see the apps show very busy but after tapping the dash now, I don’t get any order ! I am really puzzled !
October is when I noticed the drop off in orders too. I also noticed the increase in 2.30 base orders with high miles . It’s crazy. My 70 percent AR is now hovering in the 50s in the last two weeks. I’m a top dasher and it’s disappointing.
I scheduled a Dasher 5 days out and didn't get a single order for 2 hours!!! It was during peak pay!!
You could always multi app, and that is a fairly common thing with DD I've noticed when you start moving from a hot spot you've been sitting at they'll start sending you offers😅
I can confirm this, I will sit and wait at the end of my night and get nothing, then as soon as I start heading home they bombard me with orders trying to suck me back in lol. Happens EVERY time!
I think moving triggers something in the software
This is true, I multi app and pause one or the other who ever gives me an order first. Doordash picks up on when you unpause in a completely new area miles away. They know your multi apping. Uber eats might have something todetect multi apping, they sent me so many good orders that my dash ended lol. Top dasher so I just dashed now after uber eats slowed down...
They should stop allowing ppl to just go Dash after not being out for 3 months, you are right on this lol
i find my delivery apps are more busy at off the wall times where not many drivers on the road, like after 9 pm or like 5 am. when it’s dinner, i am sitting on my ass like you, lol.
They are saving the orders god/bad ones for new dashers and top dashers. You are just a reserve for when it gets too busy.
Is it though, top dasher still yields garbage from what I’ve seen from other UA-camrs. I’m at 64 because I’m only approved for DD in my area but even after I hit 50 it was the same pattern, maybe slightly better but nothing to write home about.
Only the new dashers so they'll tell everybody how great DD is. It takes a LOT of putting up with trash orders to get top dasher. Then they give you a couple good orders to keep you trying then bombard you with no tip orders to steal your tips.
@@berrylicious36 Exactly, I was at 69 but I said F it because they kept giving me .50 per mile orders. It’s not like suddenly you’re going to start getting $50 orders as soon as you break through. I’m going to try today though and bite my tongue. It’s Saturday and it’s dead where I’m at. Let’s give Top Dasher a spin shall we.
It wild! It happens here in Clearwater Florida. 3:00pm seems to be a dead time during the week.
Pretty much how all the days have been over the past few weeks
I've been working by the hour 13.75 plus tips. I'm top dasher and priority orders, ..
I average about 18.00 to 24.00 an hour.....
I think there giving the hourly drivers priority to orders...... You don't have to race around in a big hurry, when your by the hour...
I think you may be wasting more in gas for those long rides than it is worth.
@@KevinVenturePhilippines I'm getting a Prius.... I've realized, you need a very good mileage vehicle, 40+ to make it.
I spend around 150.00 a week on gas, and with a prius it will go down to 50-60 a wk.
Good shit bro
Door dash is so bad right now. When your declining 19 out of 20 orders you know it’s bad
I dashed a lot in SLC area earlier this year at a couple different times and it does seem to be getting worse there. I'm dashing more on the west coast now and I definitely feel like all 3 states over here are better than SLC/Ogden areas. It is super beautiful over there though, there's an awesome place to park and watch the sunset over SLC too!
I think it’s the time. Did you sign on around 1pm - 5pm? That’s usually dead time
Way too many dashers I've noticed like 15 cars lined up in hot spots sitting with nothing to do
Happens like this every year around the holidays. Everyone starts dashing to get xmas money. Will get back to normal next year
Agreed, I posted the same thing.
Keep it up bro sometimes it’s like that but DD is lowkey dead a lot of new dashers around
I only started in March of this year and the change I’ve just seen since then is night and day. Uber is a bit more decent, but DD had like 70% market share in my area before. Idk if it’s because my AR is around 20% but I used to at least get sent bad offers, now I get hardly anything
Bad orders for the last 90 days or so - resending orders that you decline ($3 for 13 miles) which ruins your acceptance rate
3 months ago DD was my go to app - now it's my least favorite and that is the company's doing - they don't like punctual - professional drivers with integrity - they prefer more numbers to quality
I made $12 during lunch yesterday. Decided to do dinner shift and got $49 on 4 orders.. I’m going Strictly ride share until transitioning full time in my business
Sometimes you have to refresh the app a few times when it's really slow. It works for me here sometime in Toledo
I was in a vicious circle with doordash as a cherry picker. Low AR, bad orders that I have to decline. I’m switching to pay by time to get my AR up and see if the top dasher is worth it
Maybe it’s different in others states but here in Honolulu, HI is crazy busy!
When you're not getting any orders in that amount of time, try restarting your phone and network. Get back online, it usually works to start getting orders again.
The wait time for an order can be a lot.
You don't really have to schedule just wait like 15 minutes in a sweet spot. If someone is multi apping and drops for an uber eats or doordash gets busy they will let you on for a few hours.
I made 53 bucks on my bike for just 3 hours. 12 30 to about 3 . I think promo times plus going on I a richer area will give better tips. I’m scared to dash in my neighborhood because I don’t know if the tips will be as consistent as downtown were I made $19 in tips and $34 in dash pay with promo pay.
I here what you are saying it can be slow. Have you tried driving to other area to find Hotspot. Where I lived in New York. I try to find Hotspot and dash doing Peak hours can bring in more orders lunch time and dinner time.
Yep. I told you, your account has to be platinum and 99 across the board!
I told you to switch to catering in the morning!
Dude can you come try a shift up in logan? I know it’s gas but like I’ve made 100-150 on average daily- and I’d like to see if you get any Uber rides if you do come up here, there’s like 3 drivers and they’re always giving rides
I've had bad days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays...you have to multiapp and my expectations are really really low on those days. Most of the time it's dead in my market after 8pm but sometimes you get a surge and get a couple more runs. It's now become a fishing expedition...ya gota know when their biting and if making $50-60 on weekdays is not your thing I suggest taking either Tuesday or Wednesday off. I haven't dashed in 2 weeks because I kept getting long range shopping orders in my market. Better to turn the apps on at 5pm-7:30 pm and just keep going if there is demand. Sometimes there's a lull and all of a sudden I get a couple more good runs after 8pm.
i think alot of this is really market dependent, if i dash everyday in my market for 8 hours im guaranteed $150-200
What market are you in ?
I DD in LOS ANGELES AND ITS A JOKE it says it’s busy but I never get orders if I’m lucky illl make 30$ for the day bc I can’t seem to get any orders in busy spots as well
Hello I’m in Pico Rivera and it’s slow over here too
You have to understand the business model for these companies. The more drivers they have on the road the less they have to pay for fees to drivers and the more they profit. Many other businesses operate the same way. I was a private investigator and still am for the last 20 years. The more private investigators taking jobs the least the insurance companies have to pay because there’s so many of us out there willing to work for less. During Covid it wasn’t that customers were ordering more it was that they couldn’t get drivers because drivers didn’t want to catch Covid so they had to pay a premium to get people to work. Same with Instacart .Same with Lyft and Uber for drivers. Again, same with my business as an investigator less of us were willing to work during Covid they would pay me $1000 to take a picture of a house that’s how desperate they were a few years ago. Now that same job pays $50. It’s all about supply and demand.
The algorithm changed. I noticed when I got top dasher the orders got much better and more frequent
Top dasher here. It's been like this. It's frikken sad.
I'm a Top Dasher and its the same as this. Even though sometimes it can get busy, it's still not that consistent and it sucks. Stopped dashing Cause of this.
This is how Uber Eats is for in my area, DoorDash gets 10x or more orders than UE here and that's how it would go if I was out running UE. My best advice for most drivers unless you're just doing some random shifts is find something else for sure, they keep changing things and it's just getting worse and worse.
It's been really slow the past few weeks. Several days I can't even dash now.
Yes. It’s dead all the time. I do better when I leave a red zone because there are too many dashers in red zones. I have a secondary spot that has restaurants but is usually not as busy and I’ll pick up orders there. Never go out without multi apping. It’s too slow to work one app.
Took my AR up to 74 doing trash orders. Nothing changed, trash upon trash. Ended the day with my AR at 44. Done taking trash to be "eligible" for a good order. Drive 10 miles and the base is still $2 knowing they charged the customer a bigger fee for the distance and DD keeps it. You have to multiapp.
They have too many dashers now it's crazy. No money in it anymore
Instead of wasting gas, you could get out and walk with your phone so the app sees you moving.
I never schedule a shift I just go online and I only stick with the night shift when I know more orders are flowing in. I'm in Houston by the way
It happened to me Saturday and it was like I was making $4.50 an hour. I ended the dash. I ended up opting back into getting shopping orders as Priority and did better later in the evening.
You don’t want to accept every order. You’ll miss out on good paying orders if you do. The economy is a big part of less orders and also too many dashers on the road. I started dashing two years ago, and the orders were great! I deliver in the Bay Area.
Yea I only dash Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening. Then Sunday morning and afternoon
Im a top dasher in the Wash DC area... This very thing happened to me today... Went out at 8am til 230pm today.. Made 39.70.. Came home.. DD is messing up... Not one order from the Dash Mart... unusal... Something is going on... Today left me speechless.. I moved around, I parked ... Sucks
The really crazy thing, though, is that the very next night could have averaged out to $30/hr for 4-5 straight hours. Damn gig work - It's like that.
lol no
It’s like that everywhere
Hi how's it going watching from Broomfield Colorado
Yup, welcome to the new Doordash. My zone is so slow now and saturated, I'm seeing ppl on scooters. That's probably the worst way to do gig work in my zone too. A small portion is metropolitan, the rest is suburban and a lengthy way from most of the restaurants. Definitely quitting this soon, after 3 years of doing this.
You definitely don’t want too many on bikes for a small metro area, but the longest delivery we get is 3 miles on bike or scooter. If we’re trying to do AR maintenance, we’re headed to the compressed university town to our north and getting on our bikes. Easiest money while spending minimal money to deliver right them there. No parking issues where it’s a nightmare with our car. Typically she has to circle the block until I come out with the order. Blocks here aren’t like big city blocks… they’re… well a quarter the size of a big city block. Most college kids walk because when traffic hits the streets, it’s like a miniature NYC.
For us, the compressed town has around 32000 people. My town has another 30,000, and the university town to the west has around 15,000. The county has 180k and everyone thinks they belong to one of the 3 towns. That means everyone in the 370square mile county thinks they should get delivery… DoorDash is still king here, but folks are definitely getting a little cheaper. They seem to think we’re all working pay by hour now and don’t have to tip. Unfortunately, pay by hour here is $12/active hour plus tips. Most fast food restaurants are starting at $15/hr, so no dasher worth their salt is dashing hourly. We tried it once and got nothing but no tip crap and barely tipped crap. It’s almost not worth dashing any longer. We’re barely breaking a little over even at this point.
I do not wait at hotspots. I also schedule my shifts a week out now. Sitting in one spot never works for me.
Time of year too. People are spending their extra pennies on gifts.
I live in the same area and always make at least $20 per hour but I multi app I’m also a top dasher.
"They like punish you or something" 😂😂😂😂😂🔥
I can 100% attest that if you’re Top Dasher and your AR is above 70%, youll get thrown a LOT more offers than those that don't and hands down more often.
Also, my AR is 84%. Out of my last 15 offers, only 1 was one i declined and it was $7.75 for 8.5 miles. I also NEVER hang out by "Hotspots"because where do you think every other dasher is hanging out???
I hang out in the smart zones. 10 20 resturaunts with in a mile.
In los angeles area its still very busy
Yes, you have to be top dasher to get order offers.
You need to switch to EB T. Then you'll get orders.
4.50 for 3 miles is a Trash order😂😂😂😂
What happened to the livestream giveaway???
im a top dasher and i get literally nothing. i doordash in the morning. my boyfriend doordashes in the evening. i rarely ever make over $50 a day anymore. before the new year i could make like $130 in a morning...
What is your acceptance rate?
I sit in hotspots for 15 minutes and nothing as well🤦♀️
Amazon>dd. Almost 200 a day 3-4 day work week and 0 miles on my personal vehicle.
Bro luckily im in nyc i have to earn a minimum of $29.93 an hour😅
Haha it’s $12.50 for me😂
@@Moore.Drivensame😂
if you are active on 2 platforms at once does each pay you the $30 hour?
@@MileHiMilesI'm pretty sure you do, not so sure to guarantee you that answer but who knows
That's ACTIVE time only.
This has been happening in my area the past week or so. Before I was making around $300 a week
Totally agree- Im dashing from san diego- been doing this for 5 years + and its has stopped like how it used to be! the good old days they would give us $15-$20 for each order- and now its changed to less than $5 an order- its ridiculous- gave up on DD. Im pretty much on Uber. I think its the top dashers that are taking the best offers-
I agree with you there are to many dashers.
Was slow today in SC Columbia
All you got to do is build that rank back up big dog and become top Dasher is plenty of money out here just got to get back in the algorithm
I just started DD about 6 weeks ago. I can’t dash now because I’m not a top dasher since on Dec 2, I didn’t have 200 deliveries yet so I have to either jump in when a zone is busy or schedule time. Yesterday, I went out about an hour and a half before my schedule and logged onto Uber to pass the time. During that time I only had one delivery that was remotely worth taking. As soon as I could dash for my scheduled time, I had 4 offers within the first hour that all met my criteria for accepting. For reference, I live in South Jersey and my area is 60%/40% suburban/rural.
I don’t do passenger rides for Uber, only UberEats. I think DoorDash is much better…but again, I’m relatively new.
For the record it's slowed down since Thanksgiving when the map shows very busy it's really busy when it's red it's really grey. When it's grey forget about it and in my zone Belmar / Asbury park the base pay was lowered from $2.75 to $2.00. did they offer earned by time they probably do now and all of Jersey. EBT it's from 14 to 14.75 an hour. And Fridays haven't been that good at all.
I think orders are way down. I'm making half of what I used to make. I don't see too many dashers, I don't think that's the problem in this area. I could be wrong about the number of dashers, but I think I would be seeing more of them when I'm out. I'm seeing a lot of low tip orders too.
This is what its like all the time in my zone.
Clearwater Florida and palm harbor Florida, sounds like exactly how it is for me. Restaurants everywhere and no orders. According to DoorDash I’m at a hotspot but nothing. Looks like they want you to be directly in front of the store to get these orders so you have to drive. Uber eats does not do this.
What happened? let’s see, they recruit and still continue to recruit drivers nonstop and oversaturate the market in order to get those shitty deliveries completed
i only doordash friday 5 to 10pm and noon to 10 on sat and sunday. weekdays are dead in my area.
Im a top dasher and still don’t get a lot of orders. I dash not too far from Salt Lake valley. Weekdays are so dead. Even during dinner hours. Weekends are better.
I started Doordash when Rona hit and they hired a lot of drivers during that time. But now the price of eating out is getting more and more expensive which is reducing the demand for orders.
Yeah man doordash is not the same anymore my last login was sometime last year in November being in a hot city Atl it died out for me awhile ago
Can you do a video breaking down how someone that’s self employed can qualify for a house? Like what we need, credit, down payment, proof of income, amount of income, etc.
You need a w2 no ones going to give you a loan
Nope...same in San Francisco and Daly City, California...
Was this taped before the holiday?
This was about a week ago
Ya I thinks it’s all very market depending. For me I would NEVER dash between the hours of 3-4:30pm. I only go between 11:30am-2pm then again from 5pm-8pm or later if it’s really busy. Usually work 5.5 hours total (4.5 “active hours) and make between $150-$200 a day. My acceptance rate is only 46% too so I’m not a top dasher. My key is only work during those times never sit around and wait for orders. Know what Restaurants are fast, best traffic patterns, easy parking restaurants, ect. Then at the beginning of the each hour I only accept bigger orders usually $12+. And near the end of the hour (last 15 min or so) I’ll go down and accept a smaller order. I NEVER accept an order that is less than $1-$2 a mile pay. And I NEVER travel to a spot I don’t know or is more than 15 miles from or more from me. My philosophy is if I can get 2 big orders in an hour even if I have to wait a little bit it’s better than taking multiple $5-$8 orders and have to be rushing around constantly. 2 orders at $12+ is a minimum of $24+ an hour guaranteed. Anything after is icing on the cake. Then that’s when my “last 15” kicks in and I’ll accept a lower order just to bump my hourly rate up. And if I’m lucky I’ll get another big order. While doing this I usually average $25-$35 an hour easily while only taking 3 orders an hour.
Also to clarify. I only take $12+ dollar orders the 1st 40 minutes of each hour. Then I will take a lower order during the last 15 minutes of each hour. Then repeat that every hour I work.
They do not punish. I did not go out for months, I went back it was hard to schedule, I was doing better with Uber. I then did Doordash and bam started getting offers.
Make sure you have a decent acceptance rate. 60% gets some decent orders and 70% is even better and I will NEVER go and do TOP DASHER.
AGAIN DO NOT SIT WAITING FOR ORDERS pick some hot spots and drive between them and you will get offers. Some restaurants seem to be limited to less than a few miles.
Agreed! If it’s too many dashers keep that shit grey so I don’t waste my time! Definitely on the Uber and Lyft game for a while till some of these guys quit 😂
Everyone's trying to make extra income because of the cost of living shot up
I did $24 an hour from 5-10 last night(Saturday)…no top dasher in my area anymore, now it a new beta program. To do what top dasher was before u have to maintain 70% or better and have 100 deliveries in the last 30 days…u can loose the dash now option at any time u drop Below 70% acceptance rate
Door dash has went way down hill in my area I use to make 40 a hour and resently I can only make 10 to 15 per hour unless it's a Friday night or Saturday night
It’s been hella lame since October. Ready to take a break!
Since 2022, there are over 2 million Russian refugees came to the US and lots of them are working for Doordash with rented account.
They take every and any orders and drive 200-300 miles a day.
it’s because there are 1000 other Dashers waiting like you in the same area😂
Might be time for a W2
i cutoff doordash about 3 months ago and strictly uber eats now and make consistent ok money like 5 hours a day
U gotta get the AR up and u will get tons more offers
No you won’t
100% ever since i got mine about 75. Ill give offers at a much higher rate than when i was at 48. I used to sometimes wait 30min to an hour for an offer. Now i rarely wait more than 6 min
What was your AR?
